Graduation Songs .......

Question Posted Wednesday June 14 2006, 8:13 pm

What are some good songs that kind of describe 8th grade graduation? Recent if possible, like the last 10 years or sooner. NOT GRADUATION BY VITAMIN C - too common. Any thing that would have to do with it. Like, describing change, moving on, friends forever, graduation, "i will remmeber you", good times, etc.

Easy Five if you give me good ones.

Woah, I have one and a half days left of eighth grade, wow. We played the Graduation Song at the end of our dance and it really made me cry, even if it is overplayed. However, one the ride back to my friends house, we heard Young by Kenny Chesney and thought it was awesome. Don't Forget To Remember Me by Carrie Underwood is good too.

"Fly Away" by the Black Eyed Peas is good. It's about moving on to better things in life, even thoug h you my have to leave someone you love behind.

You could also try "Such Great Heights" by the Postal Service or the version by Iron & Wine; although they are technically about romantic love, a most of this song could be used to describe a bond between friends. The same thing is true for "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie.

"The New Year" by Death Cab for Cutie is also great. It's actually about New Year's Eve, but it sort of seems graduation-ish.

I hope these help and that you enjoy these!

Well..they did do "I Will Remember You" at our graduation today (which made me cry...but whatever). The Start Of Something New, by High School Musical is good for like the beginning of something.

"On The Ride" by Aly&AJ is a GREAT one. It's describing how life has moments hard to describe.

"Breakaway" - Kelly Clarkson
"Only You" - Mandy Moore
"Because You Live" - Jesse McCartney
"Good Life" - Jesse McCartney

Yeah...
