My name is Devin Lindsey or Vinny as my sister calls me! I am 17 years old and go to Bethel Park High school. I loooove swimming along with dancing, singing, and playing softball. I also run varsity track with is alright i supose too.


My favorite colors are orange, pink, and blue. I love to be crazy and have a good time

I've had a job working for 15+ monthes so I can answer alot about that

and I know alot about relationships in general so I can be helpful with that sometimes

especially with parent child relationships


I am a very observant person and tend to know more and care about more than most my age


and I really believe in volunteering to help animals especially at shelters. Usually its not their fault that they have to live their and its usually horrible cercimstances that bring them there and I feel terrible that they can't speak for themselves and people are too caught up in spending like $500 on this cute little pure breed puppy from a breeder just into getting rich instead of giving one of these dogs another chance at life (there are usually a handful of dogs under a year old so the i want a puppy excuse doesn't work with me)

My baby is named Lainey Mae... we got her from a shelter about 2 hours away from us when she was 7 weeks old. she is now 2 years old and the center of our family. unfortunately someone was cruel enough to go down and drug up and shoot (but luckly not kill) most of the dogs plus rob the owner (just like someone did at the shelter where I volunteer) and its now shut down

my fiance attempted suicide after his business collasped and financial difficulties putting a huge stress on our relationship over a period of a year, he was admitted to a pyhsciatric hospital voluntary for approx 3 wks. I hv visited on a couple of occasions but find it really difficult, l dont know what to say or do, l want to give him a cuddle but find it really difficult. I hate going to the hospital and l just dont know how to handle this whole situation, l think about what it will be like when he comes home, how will l handle that, l think will it ever be the same again, l would like to know how other people handle this situation please and would appreciate any advice. That is really tough and I am sorry that happened to you. The best advice that I can give if you feel like its hard to go back to what things where like before then don't. Try moving apart (if you lived together) and starting your relationship from almost point 1 again because over that time you both have grown and changed. Start it out simple with just like dinner and movies and move at your own pace back into his life like things were before. This will give you guys a chance to talk things over more simply and less awkwardly and give you a chance to be alone because you both may need your own space for a while to recollect yourselves and thefore rebuild your relationship

I have honey blonde hair that is fine, but I have a lot of it. It comes down past my shoulders. Because it is naturally wavy/curly, when I get out of the shower, I towel dry, put in leave-in conditioner, and then put it back into a ponytail (while it's still wet). That way it dries straight at the front. My hair seems very healthy. However, is it damaging to my hair to pull it back while it's wet? Thank you!

yes it does.. not only does it pull the hair on your roots but it also can cause migranes and what not from your hair being constantly pulled back... also my hair gets funny conditioner clumps when i pull it back after ai shower..... if your gonna pull it back make sure its loose and its low instead of high

yeah there is.. Through windows media (version 10 not the new one)

I used to use windows media when I got my ipod but I accidentally upgraded it to the newest xp version and it no longer works (I think 11 is the new one)

you download it onto your ipod almost like burning a cd... its way easy

Also if itunes wont go on your comp they have older versions avaiable on apples web site that may work for you.. I see no difference in them besides the older ones seem to run faster and they work with more computers

Last school year I took AP US History at my high school. My final grade was an 87, a B. However, on my AP exam I made a 2. Our teacher told us a 3 was passing but some colleges (like technical colleges) will accept a 2 and the class will count as an elective credit.

I don't really mind if it doesn't count as a credit because it wasn't a history credit anyways, but do you think I'll go through any trouble with colleges that see I only made a 2? I don't want to hurt my chances of getting into a good college. I've never failed a big exam like this. I'm an A/B student and I have at least a 4.0. I'm about to be a senior.

Will my GPA make up for the bad exam grade? I really hope so, because I'm seriously depressed about this. I can't believe my grade was so low, and I'm starting to wonder if I'm college material after all.

Don't worry about it. Most schools would like to see you try hard and fail than not try at all.. I am guessing you can still get a 1 on the exam so you deff could have done worse. As long as you passed it with flying colors like you said you did in school and your gpa is find there is nothing to worry about. if you didn't pass it with a 3 that means you just don't get the college credit for it for some school.. nothing else.

it shouldn't hurt your chances at all at getting into a school because they really only consider how you did in that class throughout the whole year.. they may never look at the AP exam because its not mandatory to take the AP exam along with the AP class (well atleast at most school)


as long as you pull off a 3.0 (if you unweight all of your honors and AP and make them all out of a 4.0) and get atleast a 1000 on your SATs you can basically get into any half decent school (besides like harvard and all of them)

trust me I have a 3.75 I got a 24 on my ACT 1090 on my SAT and right now I can get into all of the schools I want to look at.

I get my nails done at a salon. I had tips, but they've grown out and I still get them filled in every two weeks, so it's just the acryllic over my natural nails. I get French tips airbrushed on instead of another nail polish color.

I go tanning and ever since I started using this new tanning lotion that has hemp in it. After a couple times using it, my nails started turning yellow! I think it's the lotion messing with the nail polish and turning it yellow, because once I take off the polish, it's not yellow anymore. Do you think it's the hemp or something else? Because my last lotion never did that.

Whether it's the hemp or not, I can't stop using that lotion until it runs out because they're so expensive, so how can I avoid my nails turning yellow? Is there a way I can apply the lotion without it getting on my nails? Because I still need it on my hands because it has a little bit of bronzer in it, so I don't want to get uneven.

its the combination of the lotion and tanning.. most people have this problem with just tanning in general then some lotions make it just that much noticeable. what I would do is bring wipes with you so you can wash your nails off after you apply lotion and before you tan or go over your nails lightly with nail polish remover to take off the yellow but be careful that you don't take off the airbrushing

yeah there is a way to lock razrs.. its under tools.. all razrs are a little bit different but there is a way under there to security lock your phone

is just using a condom & pulling out effective enough? what is the chance youll get pregnant with that? we check the condom every time afterwards by filling it up with water

puklling out doesn't work.. you still have a chance of getting pregnant.. condoms are usually effective as long as they are put on correctly but usually they are not perfect.. and you always run the risk of a tear in it.

everytime you do it you run atleast a 50/50 chance of something happening

i`m a 16/f.. almost 17. i have sex with my boyfriend, and we use condoms, and he even pulls out. my parents have no idea we're having sex & would completely flip out if they knew. i want to go on birth control - because i have really long periods & because i get very very bad cramps. will birth control help with those? & also, if i tell my mom i want birth control for just cramps, and the doctor asks if i`m having sex - what should i say? if my mom is in the room, i don't want to say yes.

so, what should i do? also, does birth control make you gain weight?

Birth control makes a HUGE difference with the length of your period and the cramps.. because you don't ovulate when your on BC you don't get any cramps (except for the very few uncomfortable moments with i guess its bloating)

Usually they make you go to the gyno before they put you on BC to try to solve your problem before they just resort to BC ( my sister had to go twice). While your there you can easily tell your mom you don't want her there because duh your not gonna have pants on and thats when they will ask if you have.. even though they can usually tell and they can't tell your mom unless there is something seriously wrong related to that.

or either way just ask her not to be in the room with you... just be like incase they examen me I would feel uncomfortable if you were around or whatever

Also another option you have is planned parenthood. Some of them will give you BC without a parents consent but you have to pay for it


And you do gain weight.. its all water weight.. I gained like 5 pounds but you slowly lose that weight.. my doctor said it should be completely off within 4 monthes but I couldn't really tell cause 5 pounds isn't much

Does baby oil cause someone to tan better?

Yes.. sorta it makes your skin smoother and more moisturized and therefor it makes you hold a tan better.. But i wouldnt put it on your face... it may cause you to break out

How do you get hair like that? Scrunching is okay but different ideas are better.

besides scrunching your only other way is curlers.. I recommend ones that are long and have a wire that twists them

you can usually find them at like wal mart and they are fairly cheap.. they just take a while to get in your hair.. and practice because you have to get them in just right to get the right results

I have a 2 month old puppy and I was really hesitant to put her in our huge pool - but my dad decided to throw her in anyways! I freaked out but suprisingly enough she just paddled her way back to the steps. I coulden't believe it. My question is - Do dogs have the natural ability to swim? Even at 2 months old and 1 1/2 lbs? It was crazy.

I believe they do... my dog has hated water since we first got her in the pool (shes 2 now) but shes always managed to swim. I would be careful though because my dog actually jumped in on her own when she was about 3-4 monthes old but she couldn't swim because even though she was 5 pounds her collar was so heavy on her neck that it made her swim. Its actually better to get her in the pool now because at that age dogs are basically fearless... I wish i would have gotten her in more because the only times she was in before she was a year old was when she accidentally fell/jumped in and now my dad picks her up and carries her in but she kicks and squirms (sp?) and swims right to the steps and runs away from the pool. (and shes a 50 pound load now)

just make sure you care for her skin more... her skin is going to dry out just as much as yours does in the pool if not more. make sure you bathe her more often and get her a doggy moisturizer. Until she reaches about 1/4 of her adult weight (I am not sure what that is you didn't say what kind of dog she was) I wouldn't bring her in more than once a week or so because she can get sick from the chemicals in the pool

Your parents have to go to the school board to get you switched to another school. Usually they make you pay to go to the other school like you would pay to private school. Usually to go to another school district i believe its like $6,000 a year... If the school is within the same school district you won't have to pay but your parents will still have to present their case to the school board/principal

What is/are the best college guidebook/s? For example, Princeton Review and Fiske? I'm looking for reviews of colleges (I know I can look at the collegeboard or princeton review sites, but i'm interested in a book,) statistics and also how to get accepted (what those colleges look for, etc.) Basically an all-in-one college book (or if thats not possible, the best of all of the side-categories.)

there is a book I have. My school bought for our whole senior class (well at the time junior class which is now going to be seniors) and it is amazing! I am not sure where you can get it, but I am figuring they have it at any book store or online.

Basically it lists every college and university in the state and all of there requirements, statistics and stuff like that

the only con is listed under each school shows its 25/75 percentile which SAT or ACTs and some of them are a little of compared to what the actually schools site says.. but its def a great way to start

how can i get tan really fast. i ussually dont use any protection even tho i know i should. so yeah. i want to be supper tan this summer. anyyone have any tips on how to get tan good. :] (besides the spray on tans or tanning beds i mean like tips on tanning}

Make sure your skin is fully moisturized

buy a good tanning lotion... I've noticed those cheap $4 lotions work just as well as ones that aer $50.

Make sure if you are naturally fair skinned you don't get anything with a bronzer.. at first before you get a good tan it will turn you orange

tanning in the pool is better because the light is more attracted to the water...If you don't have a really pool i would actually recommend getting a cheap baby pool just to lay in.

i hate having mustaches or getting cuts from shaving or even having to shave. and just all that type of stuff. is there anything like lotion or something to remove body hair permently. i think i saw something once. i mean something i could buy over counters. =]

You can get it removed by lazors.... I prob wouldn't recommend paying for a lotion that is going to remove hair permanently... its either really really expensive or it doesn't work.

try nair though.. it removes hair for up to 6 weeks. so that means no more shaving (and the stuff smells good too)

okay, so my mom is american and my dad is full mexican. Well, my dad gets mad at me for the simplest of things, like one time I got up to go to the bathroom at 11:30 on a weekend night, I got yelled at and my dad pitched a fit! And my mom is always saying rude things about me, like oh, honey, you can't do it. You won't pass that test! And my sister makes it worse by tattling on everything I do and hogging all my stuff. My family is freaking messed up! I'm the middle child by the way.I have an older brother whom I never get to see cuz he's so busy, and I was closest to him so it makes me mad/sad. My younger sister is teh evil one who people say is an angel! I'm really fed up with this crap. I';ve tried to talk to them, but no, they're too busy and they don't freaking care! I tried everything to keep calm! Listening to music, reading, writing, playing with my dogs, talking to a friend, nothing works! Sure they're my family, but they're so annoying! So what is families are supposed be like that. Is your dad supposed to throw you outside at age 8 just for telling your sister to stop bugging you and 'accidently' forgetting aobut you until 1:00 am.m?! Is your mom supposed to let your sister have a friend over and not you because your sister is the youngest?! Is your sister allowed to beat the crap out of you when you're just watching TV?! I'm really mad at them especially today! Could somebody please give advice about what to do?

I know exactly what you mean! I am the oldest of 2 and my sister is 4 years younger than me which makes her a natural tattle tail and my dad comes from a strict old fashion family so he acts like his dad did... and well my mom shes just always bitchy and thinks my sister is almighty and im the failure.

All I can tell you is it gets better with age. At your age I was about to pack my bags up and leave.. i seriously had it. And at 17 although I still have my share of fights and dissagreements I basically just shake it off.. remeber I'll be gone at school in a year and no matter how much I complain nothing is going to change.

My younger sister is bigger than me and a year older than you so she is a big time PMSer and its annoying but the calmer I keep myself the calmer she becomes... basically Its no fun to annoy someone who isnt going to get annoyed.

Keeping calm is one big thing you have to do. I am a teenager and I know what kind of self centered atitude I had and what i still have as a female the less you yell and the more you act calm like an adult and just talk after everyone has cooled down the more your parents will listen to you. They are still grasping with the fact that you are growing up and not there baby anymore and its hard to let go of that control.

You said they won't listen? Find a time after the arguement to calmly confront them and just talk.. If its just one of your parents that won't listen talk to the other one.. ask if you can maybe take a walk to the local ice cream place your treat and talk or just go for a walk in general. the mor serene and private it is the better.

I know its rough especially when the baby in the family gets everything. Its not fair I agree but thats life in most families and nothing can change that. Just as I said be calm and mature. If you want friends over plan in a few days ahead of time when you know no one is busy .

I had my ears peirced at clairs, like 7 weeks ago and i woke up this morning and one of my earlobes where swollen. It doesnt hurt and it feels kinda num ,
do you know whats wrong with it?

did you sleep on it? chances are you rolled on it and made the earing move a bit... that is very typical during the healing process and I would not be worried... Just don't change your earings and continue to clean them till this goes away (and don't play with it!)

it usually takes 3-6 monthes for it to fully heal 100% so thats totally fine

if it hurts just take some tylonol


DO NOT USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!! although that cleans the ear well it also makes your ear reject the piercing more.. just use the ear care stuff they should have given you or just dial anti bacterial soap!

What would you do iuf you hurt someone's feelings (someone in your family) and you apologize but they don't want to forgive you?

I've done that before. not to a family member but to a girl who was basically my sister. She still won't talk to me and I cry and I cried alot when i hurt her but I tried to getover myself because really there isn't much you can do. You just have to give them time and indirectly remind them that you really care for them and you didn't intentionally harm them.

just give their heart time and leave them alone.. i felt like everytime i tried to talk to her it just made things worse.. we haven't truelly talked for over a month but sometimes she says little comments to me and even thought its not talking talking its getting better and stronger each day

okay so i started to date this guy at the end of the school year and on the fourth of july was our three month aniversary. well i had him over a couple times and my parents freaked out. my dad said i couldn't see him or any of my guy friends for the whole summer. but i keep making plans with my girl friends and my guy friends and my boyfriend just "happen" to be there. well i feel bad because i'm lieing to my parents and i don't want to do that. i love them both. what should i do? follow my parents and suffer in my heart or keep lieing to my parents? when i think about not being with my boyfriend i just cry and when i think about lieing to my parents i just cry. what should i do?

If you really care for him hopefully he feels the same way about you and if he truelly likes you he can wait. just because you cant see him for 2 monthes doesnt mean you cant talk and email each other. I am guessing you guys will see each other once schools back in and before you know it you'll be 16. You guys are young and if you lose him its not that end of the world... if he can't wait then he's not worth your time right now because he doesn't care about you enough

just suck it up and have fun! your going to be a single lady! that means lots of flirting and fun on nights out with the girls
