i've been told that if you don't eat enough your body will go into starvation mode, and it will actually cause you to gain weight.
is this true? because i was thinking and then how do people with anorexia (not that i'm going to become anorexic or anything) lose weight. because if they hardly eat anything, won't their bodies go into starvation mode and cause them to gain weight?

Yes it is true but, people that are anorexic dont eat at all. what makes you gain weight is when you dont eat your body starves and then when you eat something your body holds onto it because it thinks that it wont get anything else for a long time. so thats what makes you gain weight. thats why anorexic people are so skinny...they dont eat anything so theres nothing their body can hold onto. but when their body gets hungry enough it starts to eat their organs like their heart. a friend of mine was in the hospital because her body started eating her heart. not good. =/

Well if you really like her then nothing should come between you, but on the other hand long distance relationships basically never work out. You can go out with the other girl who lives closer to you but keep in mind that there will be another girl in your head constantly while your going out with this closer girl. so this is a tough situation trust me just listen to your heart. Well if you really love him religion wouldnt matter. Im kind of like it would be cool to have a boyfriend whos the same religion as me so we have more in common. I would get him to come to church with you a few times see how he likes it. xoxo

I got my first period yesterday and when i look in my underwear they were all ruined because of the blood. So I was wondering what am I supposed to do every month on the day when the period starts and I look in my underwear and they are alll ruined or they leaked to my pants to make sure I can be ready for it without wearing a pad 24/7? Well now you know what day your going to start. Next month put a pad on the day or two days before your supposed to start and you wont have ruined anything except a perfectly clean pad...which would have gotten dirty anyways. =] xoxo

Sorry, didn't know who to ask about this- can masturbating keep you from getting your period? Mine usually comes on the 24th/25th of the month and it hasn't. I got cramps and all of that but my period never came. Help. Thanks. (link)

I want to stay off AIM & Myspace for a long time but I honestly dont know how to do this. I always end up going on AIM when Im bored and myspace too. does anyone have any ideas of what to do when youre bored instead of myspace/aim? It can be on the computer..just not on those sites. (link)

The easiest way for me to stay off aim and myspace is to get out of the house! go to the mall, hang out with friends, or even better go camping with your family. keep yourself occupied and you wont even think about myspace or aim! xoxo

i cant get over my fear of singing infront of people. my dream is when io finish college is to move to California and become a singer and actressand if that doesnt work then like a phsycologist for kids. i cant even sing infront of my own family. if done it infront of three of my friends but that was it and i wanna sing infront of my mom because i get my talent from her. she has the best voice. i wanna do the talent show too but i cant do that. i get real embarresed when i try singing in the shower cause if my dad hears me hell go,"sing brianna sing," and then that makes me nervous and then i stop. i really want to become a singer. i can act just fine. i do it in a heart beat. i dont get nervous or anything. ive been in chior and everything. so what can i do to get over my fear. ive tried singing in the shower and in my room. i only sing by myself too. when nobody is home. so if you have any answers please tell me!! thatks to everyone who helps!!! My brother lives in texas wit his mom (my dads x wife).He comes down every summer and this time he brought one of his friends.His friend is really cute,funny and nice.He is 16 and im only 13.My big mouth friend told him i like him and he just smiled.I have a very strange name and it is very hard 2 say.My friends mess wit me all the time by saying my name wrong.I made a comment about me hateing my name and he was like well i think ur name is pretty.OK??then when my friend was annoying him he got on our 4-wheller and as he left 2 get away from her he was like

Peer pressure hun. Please dont drink. You will get addicted to drinking and it will end up ruining your future if you do it too much. Just like drugs. I know its hard to say no but if your friends have any respect for you they will listen to you, and if they dont, i think its time you made new friends. xoxo

Hey i'm 16 i've had my period for about 4 years but only recently started to use tampons. i know that they aren't suppose to hurt when they're in right, but i've had a tampon in all day so my flow is a lot slower that usual and my new tampon is kind of uncomfortable. should i take it out or give it time to absorb some and see if it gets better? When the tampon is in, its not supposed to hurt. As i told the other girl that asked me, it may be the kind of tampon your using. For me cardboard is VERY uncomftorable. I use playtex gentle glides and you cant even feel them. hope i helped. xoxo

ok last night i woke up at about 3:30 because i heard a creaky noise and i flung up and went OMGSH!! i went to say you scared me to who i thought was my moms girlfriend and my dog but the person just turned around and looked at me like i was insane i stared at them as the faded into my door without opening it am i insane.. do i have some special power? this happened when i was like three.. i was in the bathroom potty training [ bear with me here ] && the door was open and all of the sudden a clown came out of the wall [ im not afraid of them ] and i screamed he looked at me and walked out the door and my uncle came running and looked at him or so i thought.. but i dont think he saw him .. whats wrong with me? am i just seeing this stuff and its not there do i have some power i dont know about im only 13 so it could get stronger (link)

I saw a ghost in my upstairs bathroom. I thought it was my dad because the lights were flickering on and off so i thought he was just scaring me, but it turned out he was downstairs watching TV so i dont know. But you could have just been in a deep sleep last night. Im not sure. Things like this are not very common but if it happends again make sure to tell me cause thats just awesome! haha. On the other hand... i dont belive in ghosts. i believe they are spirtis. maybe your house is haunted ask your parents for the history of the house maybe someone died in there and is trying to find a loved one or something, i see them on ghost shows all the time. Im going swimming tomorrow and I just got my period! I really want to go because I made plans with guys & stuff..but Ive tried putting a tampon in and it hurts me really bad. Any advice on how to make it hurt less or how to put it in right?? ANY advice is appreciated. (link)

It may just be the kind of tampon your using. For me the cardboard ones are sooo uncomftorable. The ones i use are Playtex gentle glides. you cant even feel them. hope i helped and have fun!! xoxo

You will surely pass out if you do that. In order to loose weight you must eat. I know that sounds a little odd but trust me on this one. just eat healthy and drink tons and tons of water. xoxo

why do people make their beds? no one goes into your room anyway unless you have people over
and you mess your bed up when you sit on it to do stuff and when you sleep you don't want it to be all neat, really, you dont need it since itll be all messed up anyway (link)

Wow the same thing happend to me. My church goes to a camp twice a year and thats where i made my friends in the group. See if there are any outside activities for your church that you can become friends with them. its a lot of fun too!! xoxo

So I take a shower everyday. haha. I thought I would start with that. But every day *like 12 hours after I shave-- less than 1 day* my legs are prickely *is that even a word?!* again. I hate it. Because I usually shower @ like 5ish, after camp and going to my towns pool.
I dont use shave gel or anything... just soap. Does using gel or those kind of products help get a longer feel?
And I know that hair grows faster when you shave more, but I have been shaving for a couple of years. *since i was like 12ish* I never had this problem before in the summer *I only shave my legs in the summer.*
So is there anything I can do?

I think its time for a new razor. I use Intuition and i always get the smooth feel. and it comes with the soap already on the razor so you dont have to go through the hassle of putting soap on your legs. xoxo

#2: i don't want her to see the convo because i'm afraid the other person is going to talk about stuff
please help me fast! i can't just tell her *stay out* because that won't work! i've tried that already but she won't stop. help me please!

My mom does the SAME THING!!! just before your mom watches over you tell your friends on your buddy list not to say anything bad...just talk about how much you miss your friends and tv shows and stuff.
