why do people make their beds? no one goes into your room anyway unless you have people over
and you mess your bed up when you sit on it to do stuff and when you sleep you don't want it to be all neat, really, you dont need it since itll be all messed up anyway

It is all about creating "order." For things to be in order things must be in their proper place, position and condition. While no one can truly determine what order is for you for most people for a bedroom to be in order one of the components
is a properly made bed. If the bed isn't made in a certain way the sense of order gets "offended" and it makes people who have a made bed in their scheme for an orderly bedroom feel uncomfortable. When I was a student I didn't mind disorder until it came time for me to study and then I would clean like a fiend until things were tidy because my mind was too cluttered with thoughts other than what I needed to focus on to study. Once I got rid of the clutter in my surroundings the clutter in my thoughts disappeared as well. It is just all part of being a complex living being. Even most mammals of the animal kingdom keep a tidy "home." Just watch birds clearing out their nest in order to get to the business of beginning and raising a family.

I'm the same exact way. I mean, you're just gonna go to sleep & mess it all up anyways. So I just leave it. I never make my bed.
But I guess it makes your room like nicer.

Bahaha! That's what I say! And so what if your friends come into your room, like they care if your bed is made, right? I have this conversation with my mom all the time but she still makes me make my bed :(.
It just makes your room look nicer. My mom always says that even if you have the cleanest room in the world, if the bed isn't made, it'll look trashy.

I wonder the same thing...I think it's a pretty stupid thing to do unless you're going to have people in there and you don't want them to think you're a slob...good question.
