I got my first period yesterday and when i look in my underwear they were all ruined because of the blood. So I was wondering what am I supposed to do every month on the day when the period starts and I look in my underwear and they are alll ruined or they leaked to my pants to make sure I can be ready for it without wearing a pad 24/7?
Siren_Cytherea answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 12:25 pm: Easy solutions:
As for the ruined underwear, soak it in cold water, use stain remover, and you should be fine. make sure you wash them in a machine, too.
Every 28 days from yesterday on, mark it on your calendar, and put a pantiliner on during the 27th day. Your periods probably won't be regulated during the first few years, but you CAN guess when it's about to come.
Watch your moods, and your physical feeling (bloated?), and your cravings. I always craved sweets about a week before my period. If you feel like crying and you can't figure out why, it's probably PMS. Start wearing a pantiliner.
Until your periods get regulated of course. Then you don't have to do that so much anymore.

xomichelle891xo answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 11:20 am: Theyre not ruined. If you wash them well with stain remover, it will come out. Theres not really a lot of ways to know when exactly youre going to get your period..its really irregular. Sometimes it comes in your sleep! So, next month, if you start to get moody or you get cramps and its AROUND the time you got your period, then you could start wearing panty liners just to be safe. pinkers answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 11:17 am: If you ever get any blood on any clothing, it will go away if you soak it in cold water for 2-3 hours. Be sure to also wash it in a washing machine too. Watch after a while, and your period should come on a schedule so you will be pretty right on for when you think your period should be. Just in case, carry pads in your purse when you think it might come soon. [ pinkers's advice column | Ask pinkers A Question ]

katie_knows_all481 answered Wednesday July 26 2006, 9:00 am: well, if you have your periods reguraly every month, then if you keep track of when they start and end, you could maybe wear a pad a few days before you think your next period will start.
Wash your underwear in cold water and soap, cold water is good at getting blood stains out.
If your underwear leaks, just put clean pants on, and wash those.
Periods are annoying, but you can't do anything about them until menopause....
HOpe this helped!
