okay i'm about to turn 13 and i havnt had my period yet. i live with my dad so its really hard to bring up that subject, and i cant shave my legs because, again, its hard to bring up the subject. what should i do? i cant go to anyone else either.

You have nothing to be nervous about. Sure, its a guy your talking to but this guy is your FATHER!! It might be awkward, but you'll have to talk about it sooner or later. And trust me, he is probably just as nervous as you if not more.

Shaving your legs when you are 13 years old is pretty much natural, and there isnt anything to be ashamed of.

And don't get nervous about not having your period yet either. I was 13 and 5 months old when I got mine. Some people don't get theirs until 15 or 16.

Enjoy not having it. When you get it you'll dread it. Consider yourself lucky!! :]

I need a good foundation. Which do you all reccomend that wont be cakey and dry out skin? I have combo skin if that helps.

I use Maybelline Pure Makeup. Its shine free and comes in a variety of skin tones, Light, Medium, and Dark with a variety of each of those skin tones. Choose the one that is right for you. There is also concealer that controls acne as well as covers it and is good for those pimples that occasionally pop up, and unlike most makeups doesn't make it worse. It makes your skin look natural and doesn't dry it out or cake at all.
Its 6-7 dollars and can be found at CVS, Target or other stores that sell makeup.

Black eyeliner goes with any eye color, and makes eyes mysterious and catlike. Its my personal favorite.

For a more natural look go with brown.

I got mine at Payless... They have backpacks for an extra thing that catches the eye, they might still have them. If not, somewhere like walmart or stores like that may have some cute inexpensive bags.

I'm going to a pretty big movie premiere in Hollywood tonight. I have no idea what I'm supposed to wear. Should I go with a cute cocktail dress? My parents said not to wear jeans. So should I find just a cute stylish skirt? I'm so confused. Please any suggestions would be amazing!

A cute dress.. Don't wear a gown, and don't wear a slip either. Somewhere in the middle is good. Put your hair in a simple style and some jewlery would look cute. But don't overdo. Same with makeup. Just something simple. Make sure you match and you're good to go!

14 female. when ever i like a guy i tend to give or loan them money. most of the guys i liek are not trust worthy o i usuially never get my money back. everyone knwos that i ALWAY have cash on me i cant lie to them and say "sorry i dont have any money on me." I am afraid to ask them for the money back after i stop liking them, one because i am embarrasses and two:: because it has been so long that they have forgotten. during the last school year this one boy i was crushing on would ask me for a dollar every day for 3 or 4 months. i would say yes everyday and as a resuly gave him around 40 dollars and he never even liked me as more than a frined. i know the boys are jsut using me but i cant help my self. if anyone has any advice on how to stop or anthign to say to the boys who ask and try to use me i woudl greatly appreciate it!. thanks a million andone =)

about 3 weeks ago, i became sexually active for the first time. i haven't gotton my period yet. I've been stressed, but my breasts hurt, i feel sick to my stomach no matter what, and my back hurts. It could be the weather (with my back) but I think i could be prego. I took the home test and it was negative, but i still don't have my period. I know having sex can cause irregular periods, but should i see a doctor? or something? i don't want my parents to know...but any answers would be appreciated.

Well, How long ago did you start getting your period? If you have just started getting it, or about a couple months into it, Things are still irregular. Also, did you use protection? If you did you have less of a chance of being pregnant, or getting STDs. If you are really unsure, get another test. It wouldnt hurt. Also, stress can cause a period to come late.. so that could be a reason. If worse comes to worse, see a doctor. Im sure your parents might be mad, but they are probably more concerned about your safety and health than anything else.

When I stand up from sitting or laying down, I get really light-headed, dizzy, and everything goes completely white for like 15 seconds. It's almost like temporary blindness. I've talked to various doctors about it, and they tell me the same thing, "stand up slowly." I tried that, but it still doesn't work. I can't see another doctor because we are reall ylow on money, so does anybody have any advice?

That same thing happens to me! I go almost completely blind! I just close my eyes and stand still and it goes away in a matter of seconds..

ok, well my g/f and i have been dating off and on for about a year, and we have been together for like a total of probubly 8 months (it will be about a year in september). im a freshman and she is an 8th grader and we both love each other alot. she feels like we need to take our relationship a step farther. we both feel like we r meant to be together and we both feel like we should lose our virginity to each other. im all in for the idea, except the fact that idk wut she will do if we end up braking up. i have at least 2 weeks to make up my mind. plz help me im soo confused about wut to do.

I just went through this, about the same ages too. I gave everything and we ended up breaking up. I would advise waiting, because at this time you really dont know. Im not saying that you two will break up, because you seem like you really do love each other but you need to make sure you are positive that neither of you will be hurt. All actions have consequences. I sound like an old lady, but its true. Ive been through it before. If she truly loves you, she will understand if you want to wait.

ok so im getting braces this thursday but before that i need to make a decision whether to get the clear or colored ones. the clear ones are NOT invisilign just to let you know the clear ones are basically the same as the colored ecept they match the color of you teeth. now the thing is with the clear ones if you eat something like chocolate, your braces would turn brown which i dont really want to happen but they say it doesnt happen if you brush your teeth a lot (which i do) but like in school if i have like a chocalate bar or something i cant brush my teeth in school and the other thing is pratically all my friends have the colored ones and i really havent seen many people with the clear ones.
can someone help me figure out what to decide?

Definately go with the colored braces, the clear ones are still noticeable, and you can change the colors of the other ones to whatever you want.

remember that no matter which ones you choose, they are jsut braces. They wont be there forever, so dont worry about it too much.

I'm 13 and I way 113 pounds. I am not bib but I am not super skinny. I am very muscular. I run atleast a mile atleast 3 times a week and i do sit ups and other excercises every night but I can't seem to lose weight. Is this a bad weight? and does anyone know any good ways to lose weight 5-10 pounds?

Okay, I Absolutly LOVE music and i love singing and playing my sax.


I try to write songs, but when i do they are pretty lame i have no ideas.


Do you know anything i can do to get my feelings out, because its just not working, and i want a good song i can write.

Sometimes things will pop into your head that would make good songs, and it may be while you are doing something and dont have anywhere to write it down. That happens to me ALL THE TIME (i want to be something like a singer/songrwriter/author) Just keep a pencil and a piece of paper handy, and when something comes to you Write It Down!
If you cant think of anything, then dont think! write whatever you want, and it could unravel into a song!
Try putting your songs to music.... even if they seem stupid they might sound so much better with music!

You shouldnt get too dressed up, its just a basketball game. You should probably wear a long sleeve shirt that you can roll up because it gets kind of hot with a crowded gym and sweaty basketball players. Pulling your hair back into a ponytail with curls sounds nice, and if you wear makeup only a little bit, and not makeup that will get messed up if it gets hot.

If you really want your belly button pierced, and you can take care of it while its healing then there are all different places to go. They all have different costs. It will hurt (i mean, they ARE sticking metal into your belly button) but if you really want it pierced i think its worth it.

i have a huge problem i only have two pairs of jeans :( and the thing that sux for me is that im thin like size 12 in kids department 0-00 in junior department and size 24 in womens department and with that i would have to get my jeans shortened. i need jeans. i've gone everywhere (oh yea they cant have holes in them) and i love holes in jeans but my school doesnt allow them and theree big on breaking the dress ccode. i went to abercrombie but i didnt like any of hte jeans they have now, hollister doesn't fit me, i even went to like limited too!! but there jeans were too short for me i dont have a butt i have like a flat butt and i want somehting that will make my but look bigger but i dont have to spend a fortune on i like the faded look and i dont want to buy like 200 dollar jeans i went to bebe the jeans were too long or else my butt was too FLAT to fit into them, i dont' know where to go because i've gone everyewhere to try to but some jeans my mom wont let me buy jeans off of ebay and its so frustrating ive gone t o nordstroms only i don't like there jeans i dont like lucky brand i like abercrombie but the jeans they have now are kinda ugly but there jeans online are different but like i said before my mom wont let me buy anything online, and i don't know where to go i dont like american eagle, aero, arden b, forever 21, etc i like abercrombie jeans and abercrombie and fitch doesn't quite fit me yet i went to macys robinsons everywher i don't know where too look at this point do you guys have some ideas for jeans for a 14 year old girl who has a flat butt and i like the faded look lol im sorrky im so picky if you could help ill give you 5s sorry this is sorta confusting

Magazines like Alloy have jeans with and without holes.. and lots too! Most of the magazine has jeans in it, and they have smaller sizes. I dont know if there as small as you need them to be but they cant be too far off. All you need to do is go to Alloy.com and sign up to get the magazine.

The other day I fried my hair. I was in a hurry so while my hair was still slightly damp I straightened it. Now it feels like straw, its breaking off very easily, and I cannot style it. I've used several products and conditioned it several times but it will not go back to being soft and healthy. Is there anything I can do?

Its not good to straighten your hair wet unless you have a wet to straight straightener that allows the steam to get out and doesnt dry out your hair. If you need the time i suggest you get one of those. Right now I think you should probably go to a salon and ask them to trim off damaged ends and condition it. I hope you can get your hair back to normal!

I think you could get your mp3 files onto itunes and convert them and just put them onto your ipod.
