When I stand up from sitting or laying down, I get really light-headed, dizzy, and everything goes completely white for like 15 seconds. It's almost like temporary blindness. I've talked to various doctors about it, and they tell me the same thing, "stand up slowly." I tried that, but it still doesn't work. I can't see another doctor because we are reall ylow on money, so does anybody have any advice?

I find it best to do it slowly and if your in the tub, splash your self with cold water. Take a few deep breaths and fan your sself before getting up. You might have a blood sugar disorder. Im hypoglucemic, which means my blood sugar and my insulin dont move at the same time. So i tend to get dizzy and the light headedness kicks in. Theres usually a connection in there some where. any more questions just let me know :} [ bekkuhhh's advice column | Ask bekkuhhh A Question ]

girdy_goo15 answered Thursday June 29 2006, 11:28 pm: this used to happen to me a few years ago. try eating tapioca pudding or peanut butter before you go to sleep. it sounds weird but it should help. i think that your blood sugar could be low.

PinkLady4863 answered Thursday June 29 2006, 6:43 pm: don't worry your pretty little head
it happens to everybody, some more then others based on your body's balance.
xomichelle891xo answered Thursday June 29 2006, 6:30 pm: Its okay, this is completely normal. Theres nothing wrong with you..Its just from blood loss of your head. Like when your upside down, all the blood rushes to your head so you feel dizzy when you stand straight up again. Dont worry about it!
