Q: For a school project...anyone know a movie that has shoplifting in it? Preferably realistic, maybe teens. I looked on Youtube and there's nothing but junk...
Ummmm...I remember Thirteen had a scene with shoplifting in it somewhere...and then I draw a blank.
OH OH! And in Juno, that scene where Juno is in the supermarket, in the background, you see the goth looking girl swipe black nail polish. And that's all I can think of.

Q: would i need liquid eyeliner for this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v342/MostOpenHeartBrk/010.jpg
I think I am going to be the first NO. I use black eyeliner nearly everyday, sometimes I switch it up and go with aqua, purple, green, et cetera, but for the most part black. And because I use it nearly everyday I don't feel so bad for splurging so much on eyeliner. I used this black eyeliner that is by Too Faced, it's called "Liquid Lava" Eyeliner. It's the best stuff ever created! It's a liquid eyeliner in a pencil form. So you can hold it, get way more control, but it still is smooth enough to go on as an eyeliner. It's awesome stuff. It'll run you about $18-$19 though. And you can buy it at Sephora, or really I guess any department store that sells the brand Too Faced. Um, if you aren't willing to spend that much though, and just want to try this look pictured for a day, I'd just go with a cheap liquid liner.

Q: 15/f
ok so im a freshman and we just started picking classes for next year in school. for science this year i took honors biology and im trying to decide if i want to take ap chem or just honors chem next year. im a really good student and i know taking ap would look great for college but on the other hand i dont want to take a class that i cant pass and make my sophomore year way too stressful. i do plan on going to a top college, possibly ivy league. im also one of those people whos not happy unless they have an A in a class haha. so any advice from sophomores currently taking ap chem would be great, or anyone taking it/taken it in the past for that matter!
thank you in advance =)
I took advanced chemistry as a sophomore. Which I know is different from AP chemistry, but they don't have AP chemistry at my school for whatever reason. Maybe they do, I just was never into it. Mmmmmm, chemistry was hard as shit for me. I hate math though, and chemistry is A LOT of math. Really though, do you like math? 3 out of 4 of my years in high school I will be taking Biology so I can receive my International Baccalaureate Diploma. I like biology a lot better though. (It was either that or physics, also know as MORE MATH.) So really, it just boils down to how good you are in math, you can do formulas, and you know your way around a periodic table. Another option is to start out with a standard level or advanced level of chemistry, and then perhaps your junior year take AP chemistry if you decide you like it enough. (If your school allows that.)

Q: My ex boyfriend (I'll call him L)and I went out for a month last year, and broke up becuz we were just acting like friends (it was our first relationship). Anyway, we are a rare case, because we just got ridiculously closer and its exactly a year today that we were together; we talk everyday, and he is almost like my best friend, only more. Anyway, i never completely got over him. I honestly love him. Not in love, but i do love him so much. We connect in a way that I never have with anyone. And i know he loves me too, we make a cute couple and balance each other well, but two months ago, i told him that i still had feelings for him and he told that we should just be friends. Anyway, my guy best friend's good friend J likes me alot, and I am attracted to him,but I cant see myself with him, because I still like the other guy. So, last night, I asked L for advice on what to do: whether I should give J a chance or not (because he is the only one who could give me a true answer). And he gave the sweetest advice, that if I saw myself with him than I should give him a chance, but if I cant than maybe I shouldnt. I told him that he (L) would be fifth wheel if I went with J (becasue my guybest friend, his girlfriend, me and L...and now J hang out alot). And he told me not to worry about him, and be selfish for once. Then he quietly asked if I liked someone else, why i was so unsure about J...and I didnt want to answer(because of course I like him). There is nothing wrong with J,but I love L, and I want us to have another chance. We are perfect for each other. We are always flirting with each other, and i love the way he talks to me. He said I brighten his day. Should I give J a chance, or try to give it one try with L again (mind you, he might not even want to try it again.) I want L to know that I do love him. I just dont want to get rejected again. But I dont think I can be with J unless..
Ehhhhh, so just for future information...I really hate giving advice for relationship issues. (Unless I was in a similar situation, and then I will put my two sense in about what I did.)It's really just not my strong suite though. But I shall do my best...your ex-boyfriend (L), sounds like a really good guy, and you seem to love him. Thank god you didn't babble on about how you are IN love with him though, I might not have answered it then. But, you have to face the facts, as hard as it is, he just wants to remain friends. So...do your best and respect that for now. As for J, if you like him, try it out for a little while with him. You never know. I mean, I'm guessing you are still in high school, and of course high school is all about experimentation (I'm not saying blow every guy at your school, not that kind of experimentation.) But just go with it for a while and see where it takes you. If you end up with him for a few weeks, and it's not working out? Eh well, you tried, and now you know a little more about yourself and what you want. L is just going to have to be one of those friends that you kinda just have to wait and see what happens. You can't wait around FOR him to figure out his feelings though. You can still date other guys in the meantime, there is nothing wrong with that.

Any other questions? You know where to find me. :-)

Q: I straighten my hair with a iron every morning because my hair is naturally curly and I can't anything with it. I've been Straightening it for almost a year. Now, my hair is dry, brittle, fried and i have split ends! I put hair stuff on it before i straighten it but it doesnt seem to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should use to fix it or to put on it before i staighten it. Am i going to have to stop straightening my hair???
I've been straightening my hair for 4ish years. Never have I had a problem with it and my hairdresser never ceases to be amazed that I straighten it at 400 degrees everyday. I also have extremely think, wavy hair. What am I trying to get at? Some peoples hair can take it and others really can't, especially every day. Gosh, for now, I would stop, cold turkey. You don't want your hair getting any worse. And trust me, it can. For the split ends, go to a professional and get those cut off, and then from there get a good conditioner and wait until your hair is strong and healthy before you go anywhere near it again with your flat iron. And in the future just limit how often you use it. It sounds like you don't like the fact that you have curly hair, but curly hair is way better than fried hair. Yeah?

Q: Typically, I'm an anchor for the morning announcements at my high school, however I know I've failed to keep the viewer's attention.
Can I have some tips on how to be more personable?
ie: I always lose interest once the other person starts talking when I really should be flashing a smile at the camera during that time.
Also, what are some good ways to hold back laughter to avoid excess recording?
Thank you!
I'm going to tell you right off the bat that the people at my school are TERRIBLE at the morning announcements. I cringe whenever they come on, really. And of course, I'm a theater kid, so I am a bit more judgmental about their tones and their inflection. SO!

TIPS:
1.Say the information you have to present slow enough and clearly. Most of the time the information you give is relatively important, so make it sound that way. People want to know where their world language club meeting is. Dammit!
2. Make your voice interesting. Read over what you have to announce before you do so, and pick out key words that might catch people. Which brings me to number three.
3. Be familiar with what you are announcing. Be able to pronounce things, don't just slur them to get through it.
4. Look interested in what you co-anchor is saying. Perhaps look at her/him. A slight nod. A smile. Anything. You don't have to look at the camera the whole time, of course that's boring.
5.Pretend it is your job to give these announcements, where you get to be an anchorwoman every morning, just with shitty pay. Pretend you're having a great time.
6. To avoid laughter, that's all in your head. Bite your lip to help control it.

Hopefully I helped a wee bit. For the most part, just have fun and get your announcements across while doing it, okay?

Q: when me and my boyfriend have sex this farty sound comes when he goes in and out...even though were not farting lol. i know it is me and it is really embarasing. what is it? how do you stop it? thanks
I would call it a queef too. Scientifically, it would be called vaginal flatulence, but whatever, you'll hear it more commonly referred to as a queef. (Gas that isn't coming from your ass.) It happens to the best of us. Really. I used to be really embarrassed about it too. And my boyfriend could never understand why. Think about it though. It doesn't smell. It's just a small noise. Sometimes you are just contracting your muscles in such a way that it makes this sound. It's completely normal. Promise.

Q: I like sleep, no doubt about that, but sometimes i sleep when i don't want to. I'm a senior now and exams are approaching but i can't study because I'm so over-whelmed by school during the day that the lastest i can go is about 10:00pm. It sucks because i barely get time to study since my homework finishes about 8 and i want a little break.

I want to stay awake, but in a healthy-ish way. I know i can drink coffee, but i don't want to over consume caffein...so anything else? Any good healthy ways?
Ahhhh, everyone loves sleep. If only there was a way to let high school kids get more of it. Trust me, I have about four hours of homework to do a night, and when my body is done for the day, it just shuts down. I can be on the phone, sitting up and fall asleep. So listen to your body. There is no healthy way to force your body to stay awake. Especially after a few days, you'll start to feel the effects. So I will tell you my little secret of what I do to get it all done. Do all that you can until you fall asleep. Make sure to have your alarm set for about an hour/hour and a half earlier than you usually wake up. That way, you will be rested, you are not forcing your body to stay awake at night, you will have a fresh mind, and you won't be cramming all this information about 4 different subjects into your head at night. And I know, more than likely, you don't like getting up in the wee hours of the morning, neither do I. But it helps a lot for me. Hopefully it will make a difference for you too.

Q: Ok, so, you know how when girls ejaculate, they like, well, almost like, pee a little? How do guys react to that? I wouldn't want to be doing anything and do that all over him and have him think it's gross.
Um, yes, it does seem that "female cum" is much thinner than males. Really though, I'm not sure if you are asking simply out of curiosity or if you are preparing yourself for what is to come soon, but really, guys are so scared the first time they have sex with you to make sure you are feeling pleasure as much as they are (well, you know, if he's a nice guy) that they would be overjoyed if you came at all. Think about it, it's not hard at all to make a guy come. To make a girl come, it's like a...an art, it takes some time. He won't be grossed out.

Q: Hey so I'm thinking of getting a nose ring but I'm on poms so I'll have to take it out for competitions and stuff. So, I'm wondering how long is it from when you first get it until you can take it out? And I'd just be taking it out for 12 hours at the most.
Wow, so I'll admit, my first thought was like what the hell is Poms? I immediately thought of the juice. I am assuming you are referring to cheer leading though. Let's hope so. Anyway, my best friend just got her nose pierced, I was holding her hand when the needle went through her nose and everything, and the woman that pierced it said you can change it in a month. She did not however recommend leaving it out. Ummmm, my older sister has her nose pierced as well, and I remember when she would go to work they would not let her wear it. So, she bought what they call a "retainer" for her nose. Basically, it's just a small, clear piece of plastic that holds the space of the ring. It's close to invisible, hard to notice at all. If that doesn't sound like a good option for you though, 12 hours is not a good time to take it out for...and you don't want to be re piercing it every weekend...

Q: my friend has colored contacts and she only wears them when shes not wearing her glasses. I was wondering, is there such thing as colored contacts that you can wear every once in a while, even if you have 20/20 vision. if there is such thing, is it bad for your eyes? what could it do to your eyes? and how much money would they be?

Certainly. I work at an optometry office and we have people come in all the time who just want to change their eye color. It's slightly more of a complicated process than just you going in and they hand you a pair of contacts. I am not 100% sure how you do it at other offices, but we do ours like this:

1. Call and make an appointment telling them you want colored contacts but you don't have any visual impairment. Basically, you want to make an I&R (Instruction and Removal)
2. Show up for your appointment. (You would be surprised how many people think they can just skip this part.)
3. The optometrist will take measurements of your eyes, usually with a topographer.
4. More than likely they will have the trials in the office and will fit you for contacts then. You will more than likely be charged a fitting fee (usually ranging from $40 to $60)
5. You will be taught how to put them on and care of them.
6. The optometrist will see how they look in your eyes.
7. You will be taught how to remove them.
8. You will order a box of contacts in a 0.00 power. If they are smart, they will make you pay for them then so you won't just forget to pick them up for 5 months. (Trust me, it happens. A lot.) Um, really it just depends on what brand they order for you. I know we stock Fresh Look Colors and the Acuve tints. For one box, expect to pay $30-$35. In one box comes 6 multipacks. 3 pairs. Each pair should last you one month, unless you don't wear them everyday.
9. You pay and they should call you within a few days.

Sounds good? Contact me if you have any other questions. Oh gosh, what a pun.

Q: you know how phones get cheaper as they get older?
Like, the chocolate is only 80 now(with 2 year contract)

The voyager is 300 now. How long do you think it will be until it's down to 200? or another cheaper price
God, at least a year. I bought my enV when they first cam out and paid ehhh...three hundred and sixty something or other. (A lot of fun working hours that was) and it's been a year since then, and they are pretty cheap now considering. I think my little sister just got hers for like $100 or so. Really though, the Voyager might not even exist in a year. Phone companies get rid of phones so fast so they can keep up with the technology in Japan. It's crazy. But yeah, give it a year.

Q: how long do they usually last?
Depends, small cute looking pink ones can disappear in two days. Those are easy to cover with a little bit of blended foundation.

Um, and then there are those insanely huge ones that you are not sure how they even got there. Quick story about my first hickey. A couple of years ago my boyfriend and I were both very inexperienced, and had no idea how much sucking on a neck it took to create a hickey. So, 15 minutes into a fun make out session and he turned as white as a sheep. He starts apologizing and freaking out all at the same time. I go to the mirror expecting to see a small hickey in a hide able area. Instead, I find a huge 2 inch purple hickey. That one lasted a god two weeks.

Lesson learned, be careful. Tips? Carry a light foundation with you to reapply throughout the span of this hickey. Also, necklaces and collared shirts are good at drawing attention away from your neck. :-)

Q: Well my bf is coming over next tuesday and i told him to bring some scary movies. He couldn't make it to the movies last time we were mean't to go out and i was expecting to kiss him then so no i want to kiss him this time. This will be our first kiss and mine first ever kiss so my question is should i make the first move or should he and what else should i do.My parents won't be there..
Thanx
You want it? Then go for it. Kiss him! No guy can complain about a girl making the first move, it takes soooooo much pressure of of him. Trust me, 90% of my friends are guys. They don't always want to make the first move. I was the one to initiate the first kiss with my boyfriend and we have been together 1 year and 8 months today. So take a little risk, I mean, you know he likes you already, you're his girlfriend. What else should you do? Nothing, really. Try not to take too much advantage of your parents not being home if you all are just having your first kiss. Don't try to overdo it. Let it be simple. Just kiss.

Q: I started the pill for the first time on my last period.
I am now up to the placebo tablets (when I should get my period)
I have had 5 and I have 2 more to go and I still haven't gotten my period.
I'm not pregnant.
So what's going on?
Is it your first month on the pill? If so, it would not surprise me at all that you are not getting your period right on time. The pill can take a couple of months to regulate with your system, I know it did with mine. Also, did you miss any pills at all during the month? Perhaps you forgot one one day and took two the next(don't worry, I'm just as guilty). If so, that can also throw your period off a few days. You didn't mention if you were sexually active at all, I'm assuming you're not with how you are absolutely positive that you're not pregnant. If you are though, you should definitely get a pregnancy test to be on the safe side. Really though, if you are very concerned, go see or call your gynecologist. She/he has all the answers.

Q: Im not quite sure i understand why people wish at 11:11...help me understand please??????
and does your wish come true.
I've always looked at it as one of those old wives tales, it just kinda got passed down, you know? Personally, I have a slight obsession with numbers, so any number that repeats on a clock I wish on. Do my wishes come true? For the most part, yeah. Now granted, I make wishes that are remotely possible. For example "I wish to get an A on my math test." As opposed to "I wish I could find one million dollars in the road tomorrow." Make sense?

Q: i got my period today for the first time. im flat. and 5'2. will i grow (height and boooooooobs!? im 13 and an a. thanks.
Oh God, really it simply depends on the girl. Me personally, I got my period in the 5th grade...so I guess that would make me 10 or so. Um, I was 5'5" back then wearing one of those lovely training bras. So, in six years, I have grown 4 inches and, and guess what? I'm still in a 34A cup size. Ha, does that answer your question. I've heard so many things about when girls stop growing. Height wise- I would believe about 17. Boob wise- I've heard they can grow until you're in your 20's. So no worries, you have plenty of time. :-)

Q: 16/f
i have ALWAYS wore my hair really long, like down my whole back, and i really want a change so i was thinking of cutting it short, like at my shoulders

does short hair make you look younger though?
i hatee when people say i look younger then i am so i dont wanna look like a little girl, does it depend on the person?
Hair is a funny thing. And it's always going to depend on the person. My hair is short, it's about an inch or so below my ears. I'm 16 as well, I've never been mistaken for younger. I can't do long hair though, I know that. It swallows my face. You really have to focus on the shape of your face and what compliments it. Talk with your hairdresser. Shoulder length is a good length because you still have plenty to play with and you can always go shorter. So I guess to answer your question, short hair does not automatically make a person look younger. Can it? Well yes, but so can long hair.

Q: I really want to learn how to play an instrument. I use to play the piano but I stopped and forgot everything. I made that mistake and I want to play an instrument again. I'm in 8th grade and 13 years old. What kind of instrument would be good for me? Can you give me some idea's? And what kind of instrument you play and enjoy? Thanks a lot.
I would definitely pick the piano back up. (Not literally. :-)) The piano can help you play any instrument though. It's like the basis for all. I enrolled in a music theory class this year, finally, and the piano really helps you with pitches, ear training, scales, EVERYTHING. And really piano players are really hard to come by these days, it seems to be a dying instrument.

I play guitar when I find time here and there, really though, stringed instruments are not for everyone. Find the right instrument for you, because it sounds like you really are interested in music and want to play something. So have fun, experiment. Try a mandolin or a bass, perhaps a trumpet?

Q: I might have to get braces. I would never think that I would need braces! My teeth are really straight except for one and that one started to hurt when I ate so I went to the dentist. I don't know anything about braces except that they hurt when you first get them and you can't eat for a while. I really am confused so any help would be appreciated.
Braces are not that bad, unless you have poor oral hygiene. A lot of people don't think they need braces because their teeth look straight. It's not just about the straightness of your teeth though, it's also about your bite. I've had one and a half sets of braces, and by no means are they fun, but they're manageable. They are going to hurt at first, and probably every time you go to see your orthodontist and get your wires changed. They are not going to hurt as soon as they get put on your teeth, it will take a few hours, and it's only because your teeth are not used to them and they are being shifted with the wires. You can eat, don't worry, softer foods feel a little better though.
