I'm a junior in high school and I realize that soon, I will have to go to college soon. I really want to join a sorority but I have no idea how to and what they do. How do I find out about them? What do I have to do? What do sororities do exactly? Thanks for answering..I rate.

Technicalities aside, let me tell you about sororities. They are social clubs of a bunch of girls. In order to be recognized by the university, they have to fill certain requirements, one of which being community service. (So expect to do something like, pick up trash on the side of the highway.) And in order to join one, you have to pledge. (Which, in some cases, such as the fraternity house two doors down from my house, includes an ungodly amount of drinking, memorization, hazing, and embarrassment. It was fun to watch, though.) Hazing has been outlawed for years now, but it's sometimes still around.
Being part of a sorority means going to a lot of social functions. Expect a lot of parties, banquets, and the like. It's mainly a way of getting to know a bunch of people, and gives you something to do on weekends. It's all part of the college experience: Getting drunk and fucking strangers. Wait, I mean, getting close with a few people while you obtain higher learning...yeah, that's what I meant.

For a guy who is only 17 (according to profile) how is it that you write advice that is so dang witty and mature?
One of the things in this world I can't stand is stupidity. I have absolutely no tolerance for stupid people. I was blessed with a decently high IQ and common sense, which puts me above a lot of people intelligence wise. I hope that I can impart what meager amount of wisdom I have on others, so the collective whole of people will hopefully be less stupid.
Even before I started school my parents realized I was "gifted". I could read on a 3rd grade level before preschool. (Which may be why I'm such a grammar and spelling nazi nowadays.) I always got high grades in school up until High School, when I became really lazy like I am now. Now I'm perfectly happy with a B, when in middle school I was pissed if I didn't get 100.
But, some other students have talked with me about it, and we all came to the conclusion that I am smart, but not school smart. I don't like doing assignments, don't do what I'm told, and have a problem with authority. I like to learn, but on my own time, at my own pace, with my own subjects. You kids have fun learning British literature, I'll be studying these wiring diagrams for arcade machines.
I also pride myself on my sense of humor. I've never had any trouble making someone laugh. So I try to throw some of that into my advice. If I give an answer that helps someone AND makes them laugh, I am satisfied.

I'm thinking about buying a Lacoste on ebay..for those of you who don't know what it is, it's a really expensive polo retailing for $72-$79 in stores like Saks, Nordstroms, etc..The problem is, I don't want to get scammed and be sold a fake one. How do I know if it's real? The one I am currently bidding on has a $0.99 starting bid. The seller states that it has two mother of pearl buttons. She has a feedback of 99.7%. Is this a scam? How do I spot the real ones?
The percentage is nice, but what is her overall feedback score? The higher, the better. Check to see if she has sold any items like this recently, and if she received positive feedback for those transactions. If you want to be really sure, e-mail the people she recently sold to and ask them.

Where did you play IIDX at? You live kind of close to me and I don't know any arcades around here that have it.
I had to go to Irving, in the Metroplex, in order to play. I went to A-Town in the Irving Mall. Best. Arcade. Ever.
They have IIDX, DrumMania, KeyboardMania, Guitar Freaks, Para Para, DDR, Crackin DJ, Bust a Groove...they have it all. Plus a bunch of large sit-down Japanese fighting game cabinets.

There's been alot going on about abortion lately and here's my take!
we have eighty year old male politicians and the abstinent catho-lics (nuns and priests)telling young fecund women whose bodies are basically setting them up to get pregnant, that contraception is not right in the eyes of god, and THEN after that, neither is abortion.
So this is what I get out of all of this-
Either we're supposed to deny our instinctual, primate desires and wait until marriage because they said so, or suffer pregnancy out of marriage and be locked in to raise their future goddamn tax payers- and not to mention- army ants.
NO, their god would FORBID that any human being ould have the control over their own body, nor would any woman be able to move freely and independantly throughout society living as she chooses, without being judged and condemned to eighteen years of servitude to some god-fearing patriotic moron's children?

Anybody else here play Bemani/other music games? I've gotten into DDR and have preordered ITG. I'm thinking about starting IIDX, but I'm not sure which style to get. Which style would you recomend for somebody who's never played before?
Oh god IIDX is so much fun. I've only played once, but I fell in love with it. The one I played is 7th Style, so I can't really recommend anything other than that. It had a pretty large songlist and a good setup, so I think it's safe.
If you want to play at home it'll cost you. A good Konami IIDX controller is several hundred dollars. Not to mention an import/modded PS2 and the game.
I don't think you'll get many answers here. I'd be surprised to find any IIDX players on here at all. I'm your best bet and I'm no help.

Well Im 15 and im 9 and a half stone, the doctors say that my weight is perfect for my age and my height. but i still have a big stomach. its so annoying. My mum said that my weight is alright and always calls me skinny but im not! I need to lose some weight but if i lose too much the doctors put me on steroids. so how can i lose my big stomach but stay at 9 and a half stone? is it even possible? thankyou so much

All moles are a form of cancer. Most are just benign, and pose no threat to your health. Chances are, it is absolutely nothing to worry about. However, if the mole grows, it is something that needs to be checked. Unless she has good medical insurance, it would most likely be a waste of a lot of money to make a trip to a dermatologist who would tell her what I just did.

I'm trying to defragment my c drive, but it says some file is corrupted, and will not let me continue. I also got a pop up message about a chdish utility i need to run... any help?
Then run chkdsk. Should be in the same place you run defrag from. You should always run chkdsk before you defrag, as it will find corrupted files first.

What would be your suggestions to get to the next level of DDR. I've passed Max 300 about 10 times (not consitently) and MaxX Unlimited once (not a big accopmplishment, BSing through on a soft pad). Legend of Max I can only get to about the freeze. Right now it's more of a physical thing than a mental thing, I can read them pretty easily, except for certain parts of LOM. I want to get past these so I can start Expert on ITG, which I'm limited to mostly the 9s on expert and the rest on heavy (although I have no idea, because the only way I can play them is through Step Mania on my Xbox). Anyway, it would be mindless to go on so I'll just stop it here.
Well, my definition of being a good player has absolutely nothing to do with what songs you can pass. I consider myself a good player because of my high PA rate, and I haven't really attempted any 11's yet on ITG. On DDR, I've passed everything but Paranoia Survivor Max Oni, but haven't really tried. Anyway, it's a speed and stamina issue for most of the 10's. Practice on songs that have a slower BPM, but really fast steps. Leading Cyber and Gradiusic Cyber and good examples, with the 16th note runs. Drop Out is an ok example, but too slow. I think Paranoia Survivor is a good one too. If you can full combo PS, you can pass LOM. As for stamina, play really fast, hard songs all in a row to build up strength. Consistently play songs like Rhythm and Police and Exotic Ethnic that require a lot of movement. Or songs like So Deep that put stress on your legs. Also, DO NOT USE THE BAR. Your legs will never get any stronger. Plus it looks dumb.
LOM is a tough one and it took me quite a few tries to get it, but now I can beat it fairly consistently. Just keep at it. Play it once every two games or so. You'll probably have the first half memorized by the time you beat it.

What is In The Groove? Is it similar to Dance Dance Revolution? I'm pretty good at DDR so should I maybe check out ITG?
In The Groove is the RoXoR company's way of expanding DDR, since no new arcade releases have come out in years. (Save the new one coming out in Europe...) It uses the same cabinet. It has the same pad and everything. In fact, here's the recipe for an ITG:
1 DDR
1 BoXoR (The internal computer for ITG)
Step 1: Open up the DDR cabinet and remove it's internal computer.
Step 2: Install the BoXoR.
It's very much different from DDR, for a game that uses the same arrows. It's much more difficult as well, what with all the hands, mines, and quads you have to deal with.
I've tired of DDR. I've beaten pretty much everything in the game there is to beat. (Except Paranoia Survivor Max Oni, which I could beat if I really wanted, but I don't care.) DDR difficulty goes up to 10; ITG goes up to 13. ITG also has a high score list for every song. Each song has a top 10 list that keeps names and scores. Now you can use USB flashdrives as memory cards as well. You can keep track of your best scores, take pictures directly onto the card, and create edits on Stepmania and play them at the arcade.
ITG2 is being tested now. There will be a brand new cabinet for it built by Andamiro, the company that makes Pump it Up.
Check out ITG. Once you play it, you might lose interest in DDR like I did. (Author's note: That's a good thing.) It's coming out on PS2 soon, so keep an eye out for that.
