My name is Lyndsey and I'm 17 years old. I live in Lexington, South Carolina. I pride myself on being mature for my age with a good head on my shoulders, but I find I can be snippy when I hear something that just hits a nerve. I have a lot of strong opinions and I have no problem arguing them. I'm a very open-minded person and very tolerant of most things.
Immaturity is a big pet peeve of mine, as is self-centered, narrow-minded, and ignorant people. I can be cruel when it comes to these things, but sometimes certain people need to be told their faults. I know mine and I have no problem being confronted with them. If someone has a problem with me, online or in person, I'd rather they tell me and we can resolve the issue in a mature fashion. I won't tell you want to WANT to hear, just what you NEED to hear.
On a less serious note, I'm a laid back person and I enjoy shopping, the internet, and my favorite TV shows (Queer as Folk, The L Word, Friends, American Idol, Will & Grace, House). I don't have a large group of friends, but the ones I have are close and I love them to death. I generally enjoy life, minus the whole school deal. I'm a junior in high school and I can't wait to move on to college. I am an honors student and I hope to go to the University of South Carolina and then eventually into the medical field, possibly psychology.
If you have any questions or want advice, I'm here for ya, babes.

Sometimes I can be so tired. I can be lying in bed for hours and not be able to fall asleep even though I'm so exhausted.
What can I do?
No sleeping pills or doctors. Thx. (link)
|
Yes, I SEE the last line of your post, but there's just basically no definite way of making you go to sleep without some sort of sleeping pill. They can be bought it the store and they're not expensive...just go get some.
Since you say you're really tired when this happens, this probably won't work, but you can lighten up on the caffeine and sugar you consume during the day. Also, don't eat late at night.
When I had a problem like this, it was actually anxiety. And before I got put on meds the doctor told me that when you lie in bed, just focus on relaxing each body part. Start at your toes and move up. Eventually you will be relaxed enough to fall asleep.

hey im a 16 year old female and i have sex weekly. me and my boyfriend do it unprotected usually but he never busts in me.
i got my period march 26 and we had sex in the shower. for the past week ive been having cramps in my stomach and its kinda starting to scare me that i could be pregnant. also my urine smells really weird i cant really discribe the smell, but its unusual. i really hope im not pregnant because i dont know what i'll do. my body looks normal but i feel like im peeing an extra lot. but maybe im just thinking that because i think im pregnant? i always get scared when my period is coming up cuz thats just a natural reaction for me. i hope nothins wrong.. but why do you think my urine smells? please helpp me (link)
|
Well, the obvious thing to do if you don't want to get pregnant is to NOT have unprotected sex. Just that simple. It doesn't matter if he ejaculates inside you not. The "pulling out" method just plain doesn't work. His pre-cum contains sperm as well...and that DOES get inside you.
It doesn't sound a lot like pregnancy to me...maybe a bladder infection or urinary tract infection. You should see a doctor about it. You can also google your symptoms for more possibilities.

A couple of questions because it seems like somethhing that would really help me lol.
1) Does the South Beach Diet really work?
2) Is it safe to do?
3) Does it cut out all carbs?
Thanks :) (link)
|
www.southbeachdiet.com
1) Yes, it has worked for LOTS of people. However, different diets work for different people.
2) Yes, the South Beach Diet is a very well balanced diet plan.
3) No, no diet completely cuts out carbs...you NEED carbs. Atkins is a "low carb" diet while South Beach is a "good carb/bad carb" diet. It's just different types of carbs and you add them slowly.

ok well....
for some reason recently i've been eating a lot more then i usually do. I now have like fat just above my hip. i am going to flordia on may 26 and i need to get rid of it by then to wear my bathing suit. what should i do? (link)
|
Simple, diet and exercise.
Eating:
-1200-1500 calories a day
-5 small meals a day
-Whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meat
-LOTS of water...at least 8-10 glasses a day
-Watch your intake of sugar, sodium, calories, carbs, saturated fat
Exercise:
-Work out at least 30 minutes a day 3-5 days a week
-Running/Jogging/Walking is good for you, that's a good choice
-Also do toning exercise. If you want to tone your stomach, do crunches, leg lifts, etc (google "ab exercises")
A well balanced diet and exercise is the only way to lose weight in a healthy way. NEVER take diet supplements. They just plain don't work. Also, don't starve yourself or go on a fast...your body goes into shock and you could possibly GAIN weight...and it won't stay off for very long even if you do lose.

For some reason you know the thing where you put a song on your myspace disappeared and i want to know how to put it back on does anybody know how? (link)
|
Go to Edit Profile, then over to Song & Video on Profile and make sure the Profile Video Slider is set to "show".
If it's already that way, if you changed your layout recently there could be a code hiding it. I wouldn't know what that code would be, so try changing your layout.

how can you get over depression? (link)
|
Therapy and medication are usually the only ways to get over depression. See your doctor about it.
|
i wasnt sure where to put this but here it is.. i hate my stomach because like.. since i'm armenian (heritage) i have very dark hair and i feel like the hair on my stomach is noticable.. i just hate it.. what should i do..? (link)
|
Try Nair, waxing, or even shaving. Hair on skin like the stomach doesn't usually grow back prickly like leg hair does. Even so, nair or waxing would probably be your best bet.
ETA: If you only wanted dark-skinned girls who have the same exact problem, you should have said so in your question. Otherwise, it's unfair that you gave me a 3 and the other person a 2 just because we don't have the exact same problem. We pretty much told you the same thing.

I VALUE YOUR OPINION: Lucy was sitting at the dining room table with her cousin Patsy. Patsy turned to Lucy and said: Lucy you are a size in 8 in clothes; Lucy said; Yes I am, why; Patsy replied; I THOUGHT YOU ARE a size 8. I am cleaning out my bedroom closet, however, I couldnt remember if you told me you are a size 8 or 10.; The next day Lucy told her friends what her cousin said and asked; do you think my cousin thinks I am higher than a size 8; All her friends said to her; Lucy no your cousin does not think you are a higher than a size 8; MY QUESTION: Do you agree with Lucys friends?
(link)
|
MY QUESTION: Why does it matter?
The difference between a size 8 and a size 10 isn't that much at all. It doesn't really sound like that big of a deal that your cousin didn't know if you were a size 8 or ONE SIZE bigger than an 8.
((Oh, I can just smell the bad rating...but some things just have to be said.))

hey. 14/f. ok, well i really want to loose some weight. like 20-30 pounds or somethin like that. i've tried before, but i just can't seem to stick to it because of one reason. i'm worried that when i loose weight, there will be that gross left over skin. and even when i get older i wouldn't want to get lipo or anything. so will there be extra skin?? cause i would rather be somewhat fat then have all that extra gross skin just hanging there. lol. sorry, that was a little gross. anyways. i also have another question. what are some good foods that i can eat. i know fruit and stuff, but what else? and also, do those 100 clorie ( idk how to spell that) packs work?? please help with all of these questions!! thanks!!!! luv luv! (link)
|
Ok, I'm going to attempt to answer the questions here:
EXTRA SKIN: I don't believe that 30 lbs would make your skin sag. But one way to avoid that in exercise. I lost 33 lbs and I didn't get saggy anywhere...just tighter. But, then again, I exercise regularly.
FOODS: Fruits, veggies, whole grains, protein, low fat/low cal anything, watch your sugar, calories, fat, sodium, and carbs. Watch your portion sizes and just eat sensibly.
100 CAL PACKS: I eat them every day and they haven't altered my maintaining my weight. There's a bit of sugar in them, but not too bad. Just don't go crazy.

I plan on getting my penis pierced on my 18th birthday. im 15 now, so i gotta while. i dont know WHYY i want to do this, but i think it'll deffinitely be an experience.
anyways. my questions are:
1. If you've had it done, do you regret it?
2. What are the odds of it getting infected?
3. How long must i have it pierced for it not to close up?
any other information would be appreciated. please do not refer me to google or another search engine as any search with the word penis or penile comes up to have some very disturbing links. (link)
|
I'm a girl, so I doubt I will ever get a penis piercing, but here's some information I found on it that may be helpful:

I would like to know if a straight people read or watch homosexual stories. is it because they might be gay ect. Or support them?
i have no clue where to put this qeastion in what category. so sorry (link)
|
I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to. If you said something like "16/m watching/reading about gay men" that would be quite different from "16/f watching/reading about gay men". But here goes...
I'm a straight female and I started watching Queer as Folk when I was 13 (4 years ago) and The L Word about a year ago. Queer as Folk is mostly gay men, and The L Word is all lesbians. I'm a BIG gay rights person and I'm very liberal. I support homosexuality 110%. I also happen to find the idea of two men together just as hot as a straight man would find two women together. I watch lesbians on The L Word, but not because I'm turned on by it. More because the show is wonderful and, as I said, I'm "all about the gays" in the words of my best friend.
Just because you watch and/or read about gay people doesn't mean you are gay. BUT, if you are a boy watching men together and getting turned on by it or a girl watching women together and getting turned on by it, that could POSSIBLY, but not surely, be an indicator that you are bi or gay/lesbian.
Either way, there's nothing wrong with it. Gay movies/shows/stories are entertaining...no shame in watching/reading them.

15/f
5'4"
109 lbs.
if i were to fast for a week, only liquids, no solid food, how much weight would i lose? (link)
|
You're probably going to rate me super low for this, but I don't care, I'm going to say it anyways.
That's a ridiculous diet. Your body would most likely go into starving mode and store the fat you already have in your body, causing you to lose weight.
You need at least 1200-2000 calories a day to stay healthy. You can just fast, lose weight, and then keep it off. Even if you DID lose weight, you'd gain it all back as soon as you ate an apple because you aren't losing weight the right way.
Here's a crazy idea: how about eating 1200 calories of HEALTHY food a day and exercise. THEN you would probably lose anywhere from 8-10 pounds in the first week...and you wouldn't be starving yourself.
And here's a reality check for you: According to your BMI, you are .2 points away from being underweight. If you were to lose 2 pounds, you WOULD be underweight.
I believe you need to stop worrying about how "fat" you are and start worrying about having a very serious eating disorder.

15/f. Is it possible to be at such an early age?
1. I don't trust ANYONE. Not even my parents. Nobody understands. Nobody WANTS to understand. They don't want it to be their problem. They shrug it off. My parents make up excuses to not have to deal with me, since I'm at the *uncontrolled teen* stage of my life.
2. I cut myself
3. I don't talk to anyone. I'm antisocial, and I seem to hate everyone/everything.
4. I cry for no reason. I'm very sensitive and have gone through a lot of personal pain in my life. (getting raped).
5. My parents's pressure over school is KILLING me
6. I seem to have the need to be PERFECT at all times, and it's driving me CRAZY.
7. I think life is worthless. I think *I'M* worthless. I'm incredibly pessimistic.
8. I want to see a therapist and have had suicidal thoughts.
9. I have a really serious case of OCD.
10. Nobody in school like me. People reject me/ignore me, and never want to talk to me. I have absolutely NO friends. And the people that ARE supposedly my friends, have no trust from me. I believe they're there to just use me and screw me over. I don't consider them anyone towards me.
11. I have no one to talk to. Nobody to spill my feelings onto and have them help me.
There are many more *symptoms*. But I didn't want to make it too long. This is pretty much an outline of what is happening to me. Am I seriously depressed? (link)
|
You definitely sound like you are suffering from depression to me. You should definitely see a doctor. Therapy and meds may not solve all of your problems...but it will help if you want it to.
Good luck!

15/m
well i allready started to shave last year. because i didnt like the facial hair at all. and now it is starting to grow quicker, but if i were to shave everyday, would it screw up my skin? like in the long term? i have sark skin, so when i do shave,m the skin goes a little greenish. so yeah, any help? thanks (link)
|
I'm not sure about 15 year old guys...but I know that most men have to shave every day. My dad does or else he looks like a lumberjack. I've never heard of it harming your skin, though. I don't think it would.

Dear Everyone,
how can you tell a guy likes you. i know i should just ask him but i dont really want to unless im sure he actually does.
signs that he likes me?
1. he IMs me first[before i used to IM first]
2. he has nicknames for me [which no one else has]
3. his default pic on his myspace is of me and him together
4. he plays around with me by holding my hand, sitting on my lap, messing with my hair, ect.
5. out of all his friends that are girls, he pays the most attention to me
6. he constantly wants to hang out together and when i have to go he begs me to stay[lol he will hold on to me and not let me go!]
7. he will make certain remarks; did i ever tell you how much i love you?
8. he shares his secrets with me that he has told no one else
9. he hugs me from behind
10. we always get mistaked for being a couple
[the other day a guy came up to me and said someone told him that my friend and i were "together". and when i asked him who told him that he wouldnt tell me. he said he forgot.]
but see the problem with all of this is that i used to like him then i told him and it was a disater because the feelings werent returned. and then i stopped liking him and now i do again. so im not sure about this one.
sincerly,
Emily Williams (link)

Sounds to me like he's REALLY into you. But if you aren't sure if you want to be with him, don't. Unless you're sure, you shouldn't do that to yourself or the other person.

i had a dream last night that my best friend betrayed me and we weren't friends anymore, what does this mean? (link)
|
Dreams don't MEAN anything. Their just products of our imagination. Just because you dream someone is betraying you doesn't mean they are.
It could possibly be insecurity in your friendship that caused you to think this up. Then again, my dad ALWAYS dreams that my mom is cheating on him...and he's pretty damn secure in himself and their relationship.
It probably doesn't mean a thing.

Ok I know it's too early for me to ask these questions but just to make sure:
Why do girls get saggy boobs?
Do only girls with big breats get saggy boobs?
Is there a way to prevent it? Excercise? Foods?
What age will it be saggy? (link)
|
Ok, here we go:
Girls do NOT get saggy boobs just from not wearing a bra. That's incorrect. There are a lot of reason for getting saggy boobs and one is genetics. Some women have perky boobs their whole lives while others start to sag from the very beginning.
It's true that not ONLY girls with big breasts get saggy boobs, but most girls with big breasts (that are natural) have sagging problems because of one simple word: gravity. The heavy weight of the breasts simply pull them down and give them a saggy look.
The only way I can think of to prevent sagging breasts (that is, if you are going to get them eventually), is to get a breast augmentation when they start to sag. Pricey and painful, but may be worth it? As for exercises, I can only think of that one machine where you pull your arms together and lift the weights behind you. That may increase the muscle behind the breasts and lift them a bit. No foods lift breasts.
All girls are different. As I said, some get saggy boobs as soon as they start growing the, some wait until they get in their 30s, and some never sag. Generally the 30's is when everything starts to sag in women. It can also come after pregnancy or a lot of weight loss.
Here's an example: my best friend has large breasts and she can't remember them NOT sagging. However, my sister went from an A cup to a C cup after having a baby and hers are still perky as ever.
You can't really predict when you'll get saggy boobs, or if you'll get them at all. All we can do is pray we don't.

i wanted to buy some citizens online and i have a pair of sevens in size 26. i was just wondering if the sizes were about the same in both sevens and citizens. thanks! (link)

They should be, but buying jeans online is risky unless you're willing to go through the trouble of returning them if they don't fit. All jeans are made differently, just like in the stores.

I have combination skin.
I wash my face twice a day w/ Tea Tree Oil fr/ the Body Shop.
I am dry after I wash, greasy after I apply moisturizer.
I cant find a moizturizer strong enough to hydrate my skin w/out making it oily!
Price isnt really a problem.
Im willing to splurge for the better products.
Please help.

I use Aveeno facial moisturizers. I have the same problem. There are all different kinds and you can get them at CVS or Wal-Mart or probably any drug store. I bought one that made me greasy but I find the best ones are the Clear Complexion and I believe Perfectly Smooth.
Hope that helps!
