does anyone know about the AMC theater's website?
http://www.movietickets.com/house_detail.asp?house_id=10328&rdate=5%2F5%2F2007
i typed in my zip code in the "enter your location" box
and the movie i was planning on going to see.
(the zip i typed in really isnt where i live, but it had the same result as if it were my real zip code...i just didn't want to say where i live)
i clicked on the theater closest (in this case it was rockaway)
there is a "showing on:" box and i clicked the date that i wanted to go (sat may 5) but the only thing that came up was spiderman 3. (i want to see blades of glory, ha)
does this mean the only movie the theater is showing on friday is spiderman? isn't that strange that there would be only one movie that day? it's a huge theater... or is it that spiderman 3 is the only movie where tickets are able to be purchased online?
lots and lots of thanks !

What browser are you using? What version? I can use their Web site just fine for showtimes. It's either a glitch with the site that they are working on or more than likely your current Web browser is not compatible with their site or the showtime menus and online ticket system.
I recommend that you download the latest version of Fire Fox or Internet Explorer and see if that changes things. I use Safari for Macintosh and sometimes pages come up screwy with it. When I switch to Fire Fox they don't. It's your browser plain and simple.
If Fire Fox doesn't work try Opera. You'll know then that it's a glitch on their end and not your machine.
They're definitely showing way more than just Spider-Man 3 (which hasn't opened yet). If you cannot get showtime info up on the Web look in the newspaper or phone book or 411.com for the theatre's number and speak to the manager and say "How come it's all messed up with showtimes for this theatre?"
They'll call head office and get it rectified and will also be more than happy to give you the rundown of films if it's not on their recordings.
The best thing you could do is go to movietickets.com select the AMC Rockaway and the list of all their shows will pop up in a window. It's always updated and accurate.

hey how do i know who is going to be on the set of much music? it's cause i know in our trip to canada we are going but i'd like to know wich band or anything would be on those days =) by the way its in toronto (link)
|
Well, the only program they have that has a studio audience right now is a countdown show called Much on Demand or if there are special guests (bands and stuff) they'll announce it on their Web site and they hold a random wristband lottery and allow a certain amount of people into their really tiny studio and everyone else has to stand outside.
You have to check their Web site and also call (416)591-5757 and speak to the people in programming at Much Music/City TV about planned guests and stuido audiences.
Log onto their Web site (muchmusic.com) and read about Much on Demand as they ocassionally bring in well-known performers. There's also a tab there on their pull down menu that says "Live@Much." That section gets updated the moment someone HUGE is coming in with all the wristband instructions and numbers to call for the ticket lottery.
I know if you call CityTV that they *might* let you watch a taping of Ed The Sock but not sure if that holds true still.

well unfortunetly prom was yesterday, we didn't go together. any way i saw him there and i was kinda dirty dancing w my friends not really though. it was a bunch of girls and all of a sudden i see someone standing behind me and i turned and it was him! i think he was like dancing with me. later that night one of my friends told me he's had a crush on another girl since like 7th grade. how do i know if thats true, or how can i tell if he for sure likes me, we only really talk during track, and a little outside of it. thanks so much! (link)
|
I'm so sorry I had not gotten back to you sooner. This week has been nuts for me. odds are he was trying to dance with you but it doesn't mean anything unfortunately because guys dance with friends, classmates etc and it doesn't have to mean they are attracted to you.
While he may have had a crush on a girl since the 7th grade it doesn't mean he still does and plans to pursue it. He would have tried that by now. She might not be in to him either as surely she knows of these feelings by now.
What's a girl to do? We guys make it tough on you I'm afraid. I would try inviting him to parties, movies with friends, bowling etc where there's a group of people going and see if he accepts your invitations.
If he doesn't you can bet he's not in to you and you don't make a fool out of yourself by approaching him and asking him out and then have it all over school that he turned you down. This tests the waters and instantly shows you where his head is at and if you're on his radar screen.
The other thing you can do is approach him and mention the classes you take with him and that you wondered if you could be friends and talk online. If he's not interested in being friends or talking online than you know to move on.
Some girls are pretty brave and decide to go for broke and ask a guy out. I would only attempt this if you really don't think rejection would affect you at all and that you couldn't give a darn what anyone might say or tease you about later.
Sometimes if a girl wants a guy as her boyfriend and he's blind to this and flirting you have to dive into the deep end and swim.

When you call him just tell him that you find it easier to talk to people from school on the Internet because the words just come more naturally that way.
He will understand completely because his heart will be pounding in his chest too (if he likes you which sounds evident) and thinking the same exact things 1) What do I say? 2) I hope I don't come across as an idiot and 3) I hope she will still like me and not think I'm boring because I found it hard to talk on the phone.
He's more concerned about what you think of him on the phone than he is with what he thinks about you. Just know that and have that in your head when you call him.
Before you do rehearse questions you want to ask him and write them down and use it as a guide on the phone. Ask about his interests, hobbies, passion, school, video games, movies and you'll soon see how easy it is to get a good conversation in.
Then conclude by giving him your contact info and IM and all that stuff. That will take it back to the enviornment you do best in when it comes to communication next time.
This call will be great for you because it will help you throughout life to talk on the phoneand loosen up with guys. Best to learn now rather than later right?

im a fifteen year old female..and i have this friend, her names jessica. shes not a horrible freind but she is very dramatic and she lies and likes to gossip..alot. well the other day i didnt feel like talking on the phone so i didnt answer her call but she kept calling, it went from the house phone to my cell phone back and fourth for almost and hour. i got sick of it and finally answered and she got mad at me and said that i was ignoring her. i told her that i just didnt feel like talking, and she got mad. now im a really nice person and i need help coming up with something to tell her so she can leave me alone already, i mean its nice to talk sometimes but im not a "talking on the phone" type of person. so i just need a way of telling her to kind of back off without coming across as being ignorant. thanks =] (link)
|
You never mentioned if your friend is an outcast or nt or if she has social problems. I'm reading between the lines here and I sense that has to be the case and the real problem. Don't get angry at her as she genuinely likes you and probably needs you more than you know.
What should you tell her? Tell her you value her as a friend and sometimes friends need to see other friends or pursue hobbies etc. or study. While I cannot always be there to talk on the phone/Internet I do appreciate your friendship and I'm not ignoring you.
The next part is the trickiest as you don't want to hurt her. Tell her that you would be willing to introduce her to a few people she would get along with so she has more friends or help her find clubs etc to join to explore her interests.
Then level with her and mention I hate how people treat you at school and want to help you. There's a few mistakes that you have been making with me and others socially that are affecting how people respond to you.
Tell her you are not attacking her at all and mention the lying, gossip, and the phone call business and let her know you want to help her to succeed and be liked.
Be a real friend here rather than telling her off. She is oblivious to the fact there is a problem. You have to show her what people think when she does this stuff. That would be the greatest thing you could possibly do. She hasn't a clue obviously.
Call her back etc. when you want to and just tell her to only leave one message at your house or on your cell (not both) and it will be returned. Likely she does this with everyone she knows. You can help her break it but in a tactful and mature way rather than telling her to buzz off or employing the F-bomb you have on reserve ;)

Here's a great article to keep around that will help you understand what is and what isn't normal discharge. What you have now is the normal type
that you will have all your life. You should
however, know the differences between normal
and bad discharge and the signs.

15/f. there is this one guy that i really want to go to the freshman dance with. we sit next to each othe rin science class and we have a lot of other classes together. i just don't know if he likes me. we talk in science but he's also really shy. like he will talk to me but he's not the person to like wave in the hall.
also he is kind've "popular" i hate labels, but i feel like it is neccesary to do it here. his last girlfriend was this really pretty & "popular" girl and they broke up a couple weeks ago. but to me he doesn't seem the popular type. i think that his old gf was the only reason he is popular, plus he's extrememly hot. but if you see him in class he is friends with a lot of guys are can be considered "nerds" and he doesn't dress all hollister like every other guy does. he's just different.
so my question is how do i get him to notice me more?
plus i catch him staring at me a lot during other classes. does this mean anything? (link)
|
Let's deal with you wanting to dance with him at your Freshman Dance. This part of your problem is the easiest to solve. Find him eating alone or alone period and say
"Hey so and so I'm so and so and I sit behind you in class. I just wanted to let you know I'm saving a dance for you at the dance week." Leave it at that as it will work. All you do at the dance is walk over and say "How about that dance?"
This makes it so it's not awkward. The guy is a genuine kind of person and is looking for someone who is genuine and really doesn't give a damn about labels (good for him) and hangs out with who he pleases regardless of what others think.
Just be careful not to view him as "different" or with "nerdy" friends as he's the same/they're the same as everyone else. He probably ditched his girlfriend because she was so fake and into that superficial kind of crowd.
Aside from the dance suggestion you can try to get him to notice you through compliments, smiling, subtle glances and twirling your hair. Le thim catch you once or twice looking directly at him. He'll get it.
You can also invite him to parties, to hang out with friends etc or movies in groups. See how he responds and up the ante a couple of levels when it's the appropriate time to do so.

i was the one who asked you about an internship and i will be taking acting classes this summer but i also wanted to know how to get an agent.. there is no other way to get auditions and roles so i really need one. thanks!! (link)
|
The best thing you can do to build your portfolio in acting is to try community or youth theatre groups out and get your feet wet there.
When it comes to agents there's three different kinds. A principal agent is someone who represents only a small amount (10 or less) clients who are well-known or rising stars for film/TV.
You won't be able to get one of those for quite a while if you don't have a long list of previous credits and are recognizable.
The second type is a kids/teens agent. Again they are very selective as a lot of people bail on them and they operate much like the principal agent does. This agent is allowed to charge a small yearly fee but any other agent is not.
The agent you need to get is called a background agent. This person sends you out on call to various movie sets in a large city closest you when shoots are going on. Basically, you're in crowd scenes in various films and TV shows.
What do you need to do to find one? If you are in Canada pull up ACTRA's Web site and hit the link for reputable agents and call some that do only background.
In the U.S. pull up SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) and look for the same kind of reputable people/agents list on their site. If you cannot find it call their main number and tell them you need guidance in finding a reputable background agency in X city and state.
They should point you towards the right people or guide you to them. They're the Actor's unions in Canada/U.S. respectively so they know a good agent versus a horrific one when they see it.

i turned in an application on tuesday of this week at an icecream place, and i havent heard anything back yet. how long does it normally take to hear back if they are interested. im sure they will ask for an interview and if so what types of questions will they ask and what types of answers should i have. if i dont hear back from them in a certain amount of time am i supposed to call them? and if i am what do i say to them if i do? thanks so much! (link)
|
Do not call them. It's unprofessional and will not get you the job. Potential employers hate that because of the amount of applications they have to sift through.
I they don't call you in 1-2 weeks it means they aren't going to hire you. When it comes to jobs it's a situation of waiting and seeing and not calling them unless they call you with an offer.
When it comes to questions they will want to discuss any other job or leadership position you've had, strengths and weaknesses and whether you are a team player or not. They will ask about your interests and try to guage whether you are outgoing or not.
In the meantime get out to the move theatre, bookstore and other places such as fast-food places and see if you get any offers rather than just waiting on this one thing that may not happen for you.
If you just put your application in on Tuesday you cannot expect anyone to have looked it over yet. Give it 1-2 weeks but keep looking during this time period so you have many potential offers and can choose the best.

Call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask them to refer you to technical support. They'll give you the number. I would give it to you but the number is different for the States, Canada, overseas so its best to go through them at the above number.
Your best bet is to log onto apple.com and use their site to find a list of outlets called "The Apple Store." They have tech support people there at each location to help you.
A representative at the 1-800 number I just gave you will ask you about the problem with the Ipod and if they cannot solve it over the phone like they usually do in 5-10 minutes they will refer you to a liscensed dealer that can.
Avoid Best Buy and Circuit City as they don't know beans about Apple products to begin with. They'll charge as well as sell you anything.
Also, while you are talking to technical support you should pick up the three year Apple Care warrenty for your Ipod unless you already have it as you get unlimited tech support and they'll repair or replace your Ipod if anything further goes wrong with it.

ok well this is kinda a dumb question but i need to know. so if you have a tampon in (when you have your period, obviously) when you have to go to the bathroom do you take it out? and what if you don't have any extras with you, do you put it back in?
thanks in advanced (link)
|
Like the pervious poster stated you need to leave the tampon in as your urinate as it doesn't affect a single thing related to using the bathroom as the urethra (the tube that urine comes out of) is not the same opening as where the tampon goes.
I think you knew that however, your post sounded as though you weren't sure the difference between them both.
The only time you need to take it out is if its been 3-4 hours since you inserated it. You need to take it out then for health reasons and to avoid TSS from what I was told in health classes many years ago.
The only thing that will happen when you urinate is that the strings on the tampon that you use to take it out again will get wet with urine. You're completely fine to leave your tampon in and use the bathroom.
Taking extras and changing them every time you pee would only be wasting your money and dwindling supply of tampons as you don't need to change them.
You don't take tampons out and put them back in either as the tampon should be completely saturated and finished when you take it out.

Alright, so I constantly get good grades and awards, and stuff like that.. and I do chores and everything, but my mom never takes me anywhere! Whenever I want to go places, my mom will say she's too tired or make up an excuse, but then she goes off with her bf and goes to a restaurant or someplace like that.
I obviously can't drive or anything, and I'm sure none of my friends would drive me anywhere either, unless we're going together somewhere, but what if I want to go shopping or something by myself? I just want to be able to go somewhere! & I'm not allowed to take taxis either & no, walking isn't an option.. plzzz..
What do I do!? I'm going crazy being at home.. (link)

Here's what I would do if I were you. Tell your teacher exactly what you told us and that you need and yearn to be independant.
Ask him to call your mother in for a chat and raise the concern that he thinks that she should let you be more independant, take transit, go out with friends or to places on your own because you are street smart as well as to let you find a job to earn money over the summer.
Your teacher can point out these things for you as they are concerned about your progress too. You could also have a friend's mother or an adult relative point the same things out to your mom for you.
That would be a mature way of handling it. Asking her directly Why don't you take me anywhere? or something like that leads her to be on the defensive and to a fight all the time.
Try having an adult you both know well who is responsible raise your concerns for you with her and see how things go. Once other adults are critical of her and how she handles your independence and growing up she will be forced to re-examine things and make changes.

Just a bunch of random questions...but someone please help.
a) How do you make-out? All my friends tell me it just comes naturally but i just don't get it.
b) How do you give a blow-job//hand-job?
c) Does sex//fingering//eating out hurt? (link)
|
The reason you never get an answer to these questions is because we cannot provide them or us or as well as you can be banned. As for the does certain things hurt?--they aren't supposed to as they are meant to be pleasurable if they do it's being done incorrectly or without lubrication.
This is basically all anyone in here will tell you as the bulk of us ignore how to questions because we want to stick around for a long time

To make a long story short. I write for newspaper, I wrote a review on the school musical, it was over 4 typed pages long so i cut it down a lot. But it still was too long to fit on the layout so our editor cut the story down some more. so the paper is printed and people start asking my why I didn't mention Mr. B the director. I told them I that I did but some one had cut it out.
He left one of our newspapers in the media room that said in big letters on it " [my name] Last time I checked I directed the musical, maybe I didn't.
Now we had written another article on HIM and about HE was directing for the first time. But this was not my fault and the review was really only supposed to be about the students anyway. What should I do. I am really upset...??? (link)
|
(NEW INFO: Get the director a card and compliment his/her job in it and mention that in no way did you intend on leaving his name out. The editor cut that portion out and that more care will be taken in the future when I write about you.
Your feedback is always welcome. Then drop it. That will take care of him/her as you are being the pacifist and better person.)
ON TO THE REST OF THE ADVICE ON WRITING AND THIS ISSUE: IT'S STILL APPLICABLE AND WILL MAKE YOU WRITE MUCH BETTER.
Don't be upset. He has sensitivity issues and isn't acting like a professional here. Yes, it always feels bad if your name is left out being the writer or director of something but it wasn't your fault.
If he has an issue with your article tell him to take it up with the editor. That person can set him straight that the omission was an oversight and far from being deliberate.
The thing you need to learn from this is to make your articles much shorter. Your lead sentence is very important in case an editor starts cutting from the bottom.
You need to get the who, what, when, where, why, how into the first line as well as what your verdict is on the play.
Then spend the next two paragraphs on the most important elements about the show that ties back to the lead. Your second paragrph is called the nut graf as it's the core of every article you write.
Get the important stuff into paragraph 2 and 3 and write maximum fourteen inches for a feature article or 525 words for a standard review. Newspaper articles seldom go beyond 14 inches column length. On some computers you can set your word processor up so it has a ruler on the side that you can follow.
You need to tighten up your paragraphs, be selective with words and write a killer lead and second and third graph so the editor can cut away things without taking an important name or info out.
You have to understand with a review that the audience only wants your verdict (reasons why as well) and the who, what, when, where, why, how and nothing else.
Tell them briefly in a sentence or two what the plot is about and expand on certain performances but leave it at that. People who write reviews including professionals usually tell too much about the show or movie.
If you can learn to scale things back and think in your head "What's important here?" What do they really need to know? and If it were me where would I want this review to stop if I were reading it myself?
You need to re-read, re-write and refine everything before handing of to your editor as that's how you become a star reporter and avoid this kind of problem. You also need to develop a thick skin too for idiots like this teacher and sources who can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
I'm a professional writer myself having gone to college and this is the exact same advice I learned and everyone struggled with in school.
My advice is if you really want to be a writer is to pick up idiots guides, grammar books, and The Elements of Style that really teach you how to write and learn the tricks. Nobody can criticize you then.
If you would like I could take a look at your review and offer advice on how you could have made it better and fitted what you really wanted to say in. Pop me a private mail and I'll help you further.

i'd lie to know if any of you guys have been to study in toronto at Global Village? (link)
|
I haven't studied there myself but I know their program is a well-respected one. Why? Humber College which is one of the top colleges in Toronto is one of their partners. Humber has a very high standard in Toronto.
I think what you should do is read Global Villages site about their Toronto program as it should be able to answer all of the questions you have as well as what you asked us http://www.gvenglish.com/en/schools/toronto/
You should e-mail or phone them and ask if they have any students you could talk to on the phone or over e-mail about the program or arrange a tour of their school and sit in on a class or two and ask questions of the students and educators to see if this is a good fit or not for you.

I'm going to a high school graduation next month; I'm not graduating, but my boyfriend is. We go to the same school. I'm going to be sitting with his parents during the graduation. What should I wear? We go to an average, middle class, public high school. Here are some outfits:
1.Black dress pants with a nice shirt and nice shoes
2.Khaki pants with a nice shirt and nice shoes
3.Jeans and a tee shirt with sneakers
4.Jeans with a nice shirt and nice shoes (link)
|
The first option of black dress pants, white shirt to go with them and comfortable dress shoes is the way to go here. Everyone else will be wearing the same thing as graduations are usually and almost always semi-formal.
You can bet the girls/woman will dress this why and guys in suit and tie. Every graduation I've been at had people dressing this way. Jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, khaki pants are really not acceptable to wear for this ocassion. When in doubt ask your mother what she's wearing. That's the bes thing as she can tell you what's completely out.

hi id like to know if any good store in toronto and new york that it's cheap! and has cute and cool CLOTHES please tell me , where it is or the name or website =D (link)
|
Actually it's not all that expensive when you think about it because Americans (unless this changed recently) get a form when they cross back to the U.S. that makes it so they don't have pay any duy on goods bought in Canada. I know this as I'm living in Canada.
We have H&M, Roots, Wal-Mart, Zellers, The Bay, Sears, Stitches, American Eagle, Old Navy which are all pretty cheap. We also have the Gap as well and for more expensive tastes Holt Renfrew.
Basically with the exception of Target, JC Penny, Hills and Macys we have exactly the same major clothing chains as you do. You should also check out the Jean Machine as they're cheap.

how can you tell if a guy likes you, he's on my track team, and he's costantly like getting my attention. he talks to the people next to me, makes it a point to say he has no date for prom, runs by me and looks back creating alot of attention, and finds little ways to casually hit me. how can i tell if he likes me, or how can i hint tward him back that i like him?
15/F (link)
|
If you aren't able to tell from the signs he's giving out that he likes you than you're doomed (just teasing you). Those signs you mentioned above are tell-tale signs he 100% likes you.
Trust me when a guy acts like that and mentions he doesn't have a date to an upcoming dance he wants you to pick up on this and his flirting and make a move because he's unsure of what to do himself.
He's hoping you'll notice and make things easier for him by approaching him first. What should you do? I would approach him and say this "Seeing as we both don't have dates for the prom yet would you like to join me?"
That should work and you'll have a date for the dance and can go from there. If it's more your style to say "My Friends and I are hanging out at X this weekend and we were wondering if you'd like to come?"
Get to know him through either of these ways and then talk to him honestly about whether there's any future at all for you two dating. If you like him as much as you say you do this should work.
If you want to flirt back the universal signs are usually smiling, looking at him (not too much), twirling your hair, compliments and party invites.
You can also just say to him "I would really like to get you know better call me sometime." or ask for his IM and e-mail and go from there.
I believe in being honest though and as hard as you think it may be to do it just telling him the truth and hitting him on the head with it works.
Tell him "I know you like me so I'll make this easy for us both but not delaying this any longer I like you too."
You have a lot of options here to consider and I hope this will help guide you along. Let me know how it pans out.

i have a transplant and i want a tattoo, but do to the fact it takes longer to heal and it will get infected, i can't get one, but i heard form a firned that there are needless tattoos using something like vibrations is this true? (link)
|
The only person who can really be of assistance to you is a tattoo artist themselves that knows about this kind of thing and how to keep the client safe and comfortable.
If you call any tattoo parlor and tell them what you want to have tattooed and mention your medical issue they'll know a way around it or can recommend something.
A tattoo parlor that you ring just out of the phone book will also be able to tell you about different types of needles. I know that having called one right out of the yellow pages and asked a ton of questions. They appreciate that and it's something they will help you with willingly and without any problem.
