Ipod help!!!

Question Posted Saturday April 28 2007, 9:04 am

My ipods battery died when it was charging about 1 week ago and my dad said it was the cord. So we bought a new cord yesterday and it worked but then my ipod froze again like the battery died again after we just bought a new cord! Can anybody help me on what to do?

Okay, everybody has been telling me to move the hold switch back and forth and then hold in the menu and the center button until the apple logo appears. But for my ipod that won't work and i have no idea why! Can anybody help me with what to try now???.

hey. ok, whenever you iPod freezes, you push the HOLD button back and forth like, 7 times, then RIGHT AFTER that, you push the MIDDLE BUTTON AND THE MENU BUTTON at the exact same time. it takes a little bit, but don't let go of those two buttons until the apple sign comes up. hope i helped some! <3

Call 1-800-MY-APPLE and ask them to refer you to technical support. They'll give you the number. I would give it to you but the number is different for the States, Canada, overseas so its best to go through them at the above number.

Your best bet is to log onto apple.com and use their site to find a list of outlets called "The Apple Store." They have tech support people there at each location to help you.

A representative at the 1-800 number I just gave you will ask you about the problem with the Ipod and if they cannot solve it over the phone like they usually do in 5-10 minutes they will refer you to a liscensed dealer that can.

Avoid Best Buy and Circuit City as they don't know beans about Apple products to begin with. They'll charge as well as sell you anything.

Also, while you are talking to technical support you should pick up the three year Apple Care warrenty for your Ipod unless you already have it as you get unlimited tech support and they'll repair or replace your Ipod if anything further goes wrong with it.

Try bringing it back to the store. They will tell you how to fix that. However my iPod has never frozen, but my friends has after she dropped it in the toilet (lol) She brought it back and they said to hold down the middle circle button, or maybe it was the "play/pause" button. Try both. If that doesn't work, bring it to the store....and hopefully they won't give you the same advice I just gave you :P
