Wear your hair down, long, and curly maybe? If you prefer though, straight.
Add a nice black headband or something. Wear dark, blue eyeshadow, but not too much.

is nail polish bad for your nails? why / why not?

It is both good and bad. Nail polish, applied correctly with a base coat, 2-3 layers of polish and topcoat, offers a hard protective coating to nails so that breakage is lessened. However, constantly polished nails become weaker with time. The nails themselves don't have to be as strong since they are being protected by layers of polish. I like to let my nails breathe for a few days after 2 or 3 polishings. (Is that a word?) :) It keeps them from getting too dependent on the extra protection and allows time for conditioning between applications. I opt for a more expensive base/top coat with less emphasis on the color coat.

Well, I think you should tell "a small part of the world"
Tell some friends, have them tell their parents, and then it should just pass on, but not too much, where you'll have too much business.

You could also make business cards and put one up at the library or something, usually they have a bulliten board. Again, this wouldn't let everyone know, just a small part of the community.

This morning when I woke up, I had this strange pain all over my chest. It sort of throbs to my heartbeat, and hurts very badly when I breath. When I lay down, it's even difficult to breath. It's lasted out the whole day. I took one Advil, but felt no effect.


Obviously, I'm not looking for a diagnosis, because if I have this tomorrow I'm going to the doctor. But if anyone has experienced something like it, I would appreciate a response.

My dog died something like 1 hour ago. It was very unexpected, and my whole family was crying. I on the other hand, felt no need to cry or anything, although I was close to him as well. Am I a walking time bomb, or is this just my grieving style? Thanks.

im 15/m my sister is 13. we kinda get along. im the sporty kinda guy who always has a gf. shes the freaky gothic girl that never had a bf. her bff is a guy. our mom wont let her dress how she always has anymore now our mom hates all her friends. mom wont let my sister wear anything dark or gothic. my sister is going crazy shes cussing out and flipping off people ALOT at home but also quiet and says about 3 words the whole time unless shes out of the house or with her friends then is loud and crazy. shes never had a bf but alot of guy friends. she loves her bff and he loves her but she turned him down? shes very violent and going real rebelious more than ever. and our mom wont let her go over her bffs(a guy)house anymore. so she says shes going with her other friends but most of the time is going with him places. our mom hates all her friends anyway. my sister leaves the house dressed normal then she puts on her black hoodie and jewelry. you never know what shes thinking about it scares me? we dont talk that much but we still do i guess. i took and read her diary i know thats bad but i wana help her. her diary was filled with all that stuff then also disturbing drawings and poems and storys all about dark stuff hate and death. i wana help her without taking to our mom or anyone else just between me her and her friends would help. list all i could do for her to help her and change it.

my school's track team is starting this week, and well around this week is when my next period is due. I am sick with an illness and my doctor told me to take it easy with sports. Well my basketball team is having a big tournament next weekend and the coach wants me to play, but not to take it too hard.

I've had my period about a year so far (maybe a little longer) and I tried a tampon once, lets just say it didn't go so well. So I just stick with pads. Well my mom is gone on a business trip and I don't want to try a tampon when she is not here... So my question is if I am active a lot (doing track every day after school for 2 hours, and then basketball practice mondays and wednesdays and then also a basketball tournament that lasts from friday to monday) is my period most likely to be heavy or light? or maybe normal?
like will a lot of blood come out when I am active? or is it just the same? or less???

And another question- The next time I try a tampon.. well how do I make myself less nervous because I know that the less nervous you are, the easier it is to insert it... and i can't seem to make myself not nervous. so how do i do that??

I know this isn't really the answer you want, but my best friend is on the track team, and she tried running with a super maxi pad on her lightest day, and she said it was more painful then a needle going into your eye. You're going to want to be running to the bathroom every second. I think you should just maybe skip the sports, until your mom gets home, and lets you use a tampon. They'll understand, just say you're busy and can't attend, no questions asked.


I don't know how to tell you how to be less nervous, but when I first used a tampon I was excited! I was happy that the smelly skiny hour pads were going to be gone, and it slid right in! Just make sure you know how to put it in properly, and this site will guide you.

Please!!!!! help. I am a 13 year old girl. I am pretty small (5 ft, 87 pounds). I want to know when I will get my period. I have had pubic and armpit hair for like a couple years and I have had discharge for probably a year. I feel so left out because all my friends have had there period and I have heard that your breasts get bigger when you get your period. The biggest signs are:

* your hips getting wider
* hair growing under your arms and around your nipples and vulva
* sweating under your arms
* developing acne
* thick and whitish or slippery and clear vaginal discharge
* start to gain weight

But look honey, I know you feel left out, but having your period is nothing to look forward too. Its nothing but a big pile of blood in your underwear, and the biggest stomach ache of your life for a week straight.
