Either I have very boring friends, or I'm a really boring person. Either way good conversation doesnt come easily for me. How do I get quiet people to talk, and keep a conversation going well? I'm going into high school in 3 days, so I want to make more friends and be popular, but after I introduce myself, theres a big gap in the conversation, and its awkward. (link)

High school is a lot easier to make friends..but you have to go out there and find out what people are interested in and find people with similar interests...don't focus solely on making more friends because if you focus on it you wont...and don't worry about being popular...in high school it's about having the friends that you've got who like you...there is not set popular crowd (no matter how many people think that they're in one) just join clubs or activities of stuff that you like to do...you'll meet people with common interests and will make friends a lot easier.

met my guy early july. he lives in boston, i live 10 minutes away. i go there everyday and spend the day and night with him. we like eachother, without a doubt but agreed early on that we couldnt really "go out" because its illegal for us to date. it sucks because im truly crazy about him, and i never even like guys like this so im shocked. im very mature for my age and i think this is why.
he is moving back home tomorrow, an hour and a half away from me. i dont know what i am going to do. we want to still talk but we havent really figured anything dominant out. he says he would let me stay at his house (his familys home) on weekends but he doesnt know how is mom would feel about me being 17. im just kind of heart broken and its sad to say, but i wish i never had met him now because i dont know what im going to do when he leaves. i was thinking about if we stayed close this year, i could go to school near hm next year but i dont know if i should bring it up or not. any suggestions? thanks =( (link)

just sit down and talk with him...find out what he wants and explain what you want...if you stay close until your 18 it becomes legal...no one can do anything...but it's really got to be a mutual decision. Don't just choose a school near him for him...choose a school that you want to go to...I know that he'll tell you the same thing...but they're your feelings and it's up to you to act on them.

ok well me and my boyfriend arent in the same class, and i go to a catholic school and so we pass notes ALL of the time and we have never been caught, i passed him a note today and he wrote back after that class.. and one of the teachers saw us and took it.. it said some bad stuff in it and cussing at our school is like.. "unexceptable" so we both got detentions.. idk what to do because all of the parents kno me as a well behaved person.. i kno this question is really gay but hah i get worried about certain stuff. what do i do!?

It's one detention...it's not going to ruin your reputation...I went to catholic school too...it's really not that bad...and I wouldn't worry about what the parents think anyway...just go to the detention...it's not like they're asking what its for.

Get a vocal coach or talk to your schools choral director...they'll be able to give you some pointers...but vibratto...although it comes naturally is usually rough and pitchy...a vocal coach will help smooth the roughness out.

well if you try to do it it's going to sound forced and bad...you really do need a vocal coach...if you can't afford one talk to your schools choir director and see if they'll help you with it...but professional training is the only way your going to get it to sound right.

I can't really remember the name of it.. it's something like "Between the Bell" or something with the word "bell" in it.

My friend and I are going to a regina spektor concert, but my dad had to buy 4 tickets cause it was cheaper or something like that idk. anyways, not a lot of people listen to regina spektor I know like 2 other people that do, but I'm not that good of friends that I can say hey want to go to a concert with me? cause it'd be so weird. My friend is really eager to have sex with her boyfriend, but I am worried that she will get pregnant because she doesn't have any form of birth control (other than condoms, but they don't always work). Her mom would never allow her to get on the pill, so is there some way she could get it without her mother knowing? She is fifteen, if that helps at all. (link)

I know that everyone is going to tell you that she's way too young...and she is...she isn't fully capable of making a decision like having sex yet...she's not emotionally mature enough...but if there is honestly nothing that anyone can do about it and she's just soooo set on it tell her to go to planned parent hood...they can give her birth control...but she'll have to go through a few exams first...but she really is too young to be having sex...whether she loves him or not...I lost my virginity when I was 14...I thought I loved him...it was honestly the biggest mistake of my life...i have never regretted anything up until then...but it's her life...but as her friend you should let her know what she's getting herself into before she takes the leap.

Kroger stores have ticketmaster tickets...just go the the customer service desk and tell them what you want tickets for...they'll show you available seats and help you pick out what you want...also try the box office for the event you want to go to...they'll also have them.

I've heard that tooth paste and rubbing alcohal are home remedys for acne, but do they really work? Also, do you know any other ones and do you know any DIY (Do It Yourself) face masks or just something that's good for the face...thanx to anyone who helps!

tooth paste actually does work...but mix it with a little lemon juice...it works a lot better...and as for masks...avocado and honey mixed make a great mask...but don't leave it on too long.

I'm on a diet & I had one bowl of chili for dinner. It consisted of beef, tomato sauce, stewed tomatos, kidney beans, rice & topped with croutons. I had a full bowl, since that was going to be my main dinner, but I avoided cheese & sour cream. Do you think this ruined my diet?? I feel like it did. Other than high sodium, is there anything else wrong with it?? I thought it was somewhat low in fat, since it was just ground beef. Any ideas?? Thanks!! (link)

it hasn't ruined your diet..and you should feel full...even if your dieting you should still eat until you feel full otherwise you're starving your body and thats not a diet at all...if your really worried about it...eat 5 smaller portioned meals a day rather than 3 larger ones...but with the 5 meals...no snacking! you'll feel full because your eating more often and wont be as hungry for as much food...it's an easier way to lose weight..but one bowl if chili isn't going to kill you...trust me.

not really...i don't know of any guys who think that its just a total turn off...most of them have had them too or will get them...they know you just want straight teeth...so no braces aren't a turn off

Hi, My mom is 100% careless, she gets me whatever i want, like anything, but i asked her tonight "Can i go to victorias secret to get bras and underwears?" she was like, THATS FUC*ING INSANE! I dont even wear that?! You'll get it when i start!" and shes 46, my sister, whom is 19.. turning 20 in january, she gets it with my MOMS CREDIT CARD! its redicilous! All of my friends wear their bras, but of corse, mine are from like, target, and the rest of my clothing is from abercrombie, it doesnt make sence! HOW CAN I TELL HER I DESERVE STUFF FROM THAT STORE!? and i already have underwear from there, my mom gave me her credit card when i was on a school trip in washington DC. and i got stuff in the mall, its pissing me off!

ok so first of all...if you want real answers to a question...don't act like a spoiled brat "I DESERVE STUFF FROM THAT STORE" not with your attitude you don't...you can't prove anything to her...she probably just thinks your too young...and if your father pays for it he pays for it big deal...chances are your friends don't even get all of their bras from Victoria's Secret...they might have one or two...but thats it...and it makes perfect sense that your clothes come from nice places and your bras from target...just get a cute bra at target...no one is going to know the difference unless you point it out to them. I get everything I want too...but I don't go off on some rampage like a spoiled brat...you can't always get what you want...thats life.

Does Zach Efron really sing in the first high school musciacal? I thought he did, but they say Drew did. Who's Drew and why didn't they just give him the part of Troy. Won't people notice when Zach has a totally different voice the second movie? Does Efron even sing for himself in the second movie? (link)

Drew Seeley plays Troy on the HSM Concert tour...he also helped write a couple of the songs for the first HSM...the producers and Disney thought that Zac Efron had the look that they wanted...but they really wanted a tenor instead of a baritone...so they blended their voices together...No one knew until Zac did an interview and said it...but as part of his contract for the 2nd movie he does sing everything...no blending....it's just him...it's also just him in Hairspray...but truth be told...I don't think that people are going to realize the difference...they're too wrapped up in the movie itself.

My friend is 14 right now, she will be 15 in November. She wants to get a restraining order to get away from her alcoholic father. now my questions are:
-is it legal for her to get one on her own?
-if its not legal, how old does she have to be to get one on her own?
[we live in CT, btw]. and her mom wont get her one, but she just doesnt want to live with her dad anymore because hes constantly on her case. her parents are divorced.

In most states the child has to be 18 to get a restraining order without permission from a parent or guardian...if her parents share joint custody of her though she could try and get all custody switched to her mother...or get emancipated from her father...it can be nasty in court sometimes if she wants to get emancipated though...but getting the custody switched to her mother wouldn't be so hard.

people come into your life through out it ...and yes they change it...good or bad...everything happens for a reason...you don't have to be 18 to know that...people will come and people will go and every person...no matter how little or how long you knew them will have a change in your life...small or large...its just life.

i got my kitten like 1 month ago. when she first got to my house everything was fine till like a week ago. ever since then shes been so aggresive i cant pet her she starts biting me and scratching me. i cnat play with her or anything. i cant call her because she wont listen to me. i dont know why shes ike that with me im so nice to her. so my teacher told me that its becuase she got taken away from her mom too early and she wasnt tought what she had to be tought. so how can i teach her? how can i show her i love her if i cant even get near her or pet her? what should i do? cats have this defensive instinct that anyone who isn't their mother is the enemy...because she probably was taken away from her mother too early she will be like this...try talking to a vet in your area or look for some websites for cat owners...just google it...just because you love her doesn't mean she knows that...it's just her instincts...i really suggest talking to a veterinarian.
