Q: lately ive just been so FED UP with my appearance i hate looking in the mirror because its not what i want to see =( everyone else is so much prettier than me or thats what i think. my hair bugs me it never stays right i wish i was tanner i wish i was everything else..

i know im not DEPRESSED or i dont think so but maybe just jealous of every other girl. and i really like this kid but he has a girlfriend and it kills me everytime i hear her name because i know that i cant have him

also my parents have been telling me that i need to go do other things rather than come home go on the computer go to my cousins (my best friends house) and then when i get home get back on the computer! they are telling me i need to get out of the house and go with my other friends but the only problem is i dont have many OTHER close friends i can hangout with..

my life just seems to be going completely wrong.

ahh! what do i do? i cant live like this anymore..

sweetie, everyone feels this way at one point in their lives. it's completely natural. but, don't be so hard on yourself. you are probably a very pretty girl! but, if you have a negative attitude about yourself, people will see it. believe it or not, people can tell. it's just a vibe, u know? about the friends issue..... i know how you feel. i have been going to the same school since i was seven years old and i feel like nobody there likes me. everybody just treats me like scum. i know that this is going to seem like such a mom thing to say, but sometimes moms are right about this stuff, and we as teenagers, don't see it till we're older because we haven't lived through life as long as our parents have. but, sometimes people don't talk to us and treat us that way because they are jealous. you might be jealous of all the other girls because you don't see the defects in people. and that could be a blessing and a curse both. i know i have that problem. i don't see the wrong in people, and you probably don't either. but, no one fails to see them in themselves. and by the way, all those girls that are all like "i love my friends!" and all that, are hypocrittes. i know more about those girls than anybody! once the girl turns around, they are all like "shes sucha bitch!" because the more people talk bad about other people, the more the image of themselves to them is probably the size of a pea, unless the girl really is a bitch lol. about the guy, i know it's hard. i've liked the same guy for years and i just want a chance with him and i know that if i could have it, i could show him that i'm the only one for him. but, maybe God wants him for you later because he knows that he is a great guy but, maybe he's into things right now that you don't want to be mixed with. like, my guy. i don't want to get into the stuff he's doing right now. i'm 15, he's 16. but, he needs to grow up a little bit. but, maybe it's not even that. maybe he will wake up one morning and decide he's not going to be into that anymore. and if you're guy isn't under this category, then just let the time fly. put on a smile, and if you're cousin is your only friend, then that's fine too! i wish i could have that atleast! so if there is anything else, please feel free to drop one in my inbox. i hope i helped atleast a little and i hope that you feel better. i felt the way that you did for TWO YEARS. and now, is when i'm finally getting back and realizing that it's not worth it. *muaz* xoxo

I really really want a T-Mobile Sidekick :D
I'm going into the Navy and after bootcamp + training (with the money I make doing all that) hoping to get one. The thing is, is that I'm currently on my parents' plan yadda yadda and we're on Verizon. Verizon has no cool phones! Annddd they say it has good service but I always find myself frustrated with it.
I've heard in the past that T-Mobile has bad service. That could be true but I have a friend who has a sidekick and he actually has really good service. I was wondering, is there anyone who has T-Mobile (preferably a sidekick but any advice works) and has good service? I'm going to be in the military, so chances are, I'll be traveling a lot. Would you recommend getting T-Mobile? Thank you.

i would recomend it for someone that text messages a lot. i THINK that t-mobile has unlimited text messages. the reception is not THAT BAD. people make it seem like you never make a phone call on it lol. it's just that in certain places, even stores and stuff like that, when phones lose reception, t-mobile doesn't have strong enough reception to hold out while other companies like verizon or cingular do

Q: okay im a cheerleading. all of my years of doing i have been a flyer well this year im not flying at all. im in the back for a lot of the cheers so far & i just dont think this is right. this is my 7th year that i have been doing it. should i say something to the coach or should i just wait and see what happens? like this is only our 4th-5th practice so far? but im sick of like not doing anything. i front spot two things and then they dunno waht they are going to do with me for this one mount because some other girl replaced me. so im thinking im probably going to have to hide behind a mount & i just don't think this is right. any ideaS?

i think that you should wait a few more practices and if the coach still doesn't do anything about it, you shoujld talk to him/her!!!! definatley

Q: Okay , pleasee answer this ASAP considering I am leaving to get these items soon. What color eyeliner makes brown eyes stand out the most? What is the best brand of eyeliner to buy? Also can you prevent the eyeliner from running off to the side of your eye a theirs like a dot there? And if so what is it? Like are their any types of eyeliner that DONT do that? Ohh , and what color eyeliner makes your eyes look bigger? Thank-you.

Q: Ok so this may seem a little random but me and a friend were talking about this the other day and its made me wonder. How do you know if you're a good kisser? Coz I know when someone else is or isn't, but I don't know how good I am! And if you ask people after you kissed them, unless they're mean, they say yes but how do you honestly know?

i mean, i really don't think that you can be a bad kisser unless you really don't like the person you are kissing and you're just there without doing anything. if you like them and they like you, then you can't really be bad at it

Q: Ok well my boyfriend is 3 years older then me and hes in high school and i'm in my first year of middle school. And my boyfriend goes to a different school. I just worried he's going to find a girl his age at his school an fall in love wiht her and leave me! I dont know what to do. I dont want to bring this up to him because he might consiter ending the relationship with me. Becasue i have had so many problems with the age thing. Please help me!

Q: Sorry, this may be a bit long...

I have a non-severe (or I don't think it's severe) case of social anxiety. I'm 13/f and I've always been very shy...I'm not the people type and I don't really like talking and dealing with people too much. I don't like going places by myself and I don't like picking up the phone OR drawing attention to myself. Usually I have some one go with me all the time to places and talk to people for me, and everyone is starting to get annoyed with the fact that I always need them for simple things. My mom recently got me a book about it and I don't like it AT ALL because I don't understand it...so now she wants me to go to a counselor!!!! I DON'T want to go to any shrink whatsoever because I don't think that will help...I've been to a councelor before about something else and I HATED IT because I hate being talked to in that "shrink" way. I'm refusing to go but she says I have to if I want to "overcome this problem I have". I think my problem is I just don't want to embarrass myself in front of other people and I don't like being by myself because I'm terrified of being kidnapped or something like that. Just now my mom tried to talk to me about (I don't like talking about things with her because she's like a counselor and it really annoys me) it but I refused to talk and now I'm really upset because she's mad at me. Should I really go to a counselor? Maybe I should get another book? I want to avoid the counselor at all costs...maybe I should just have an open talk about it with my mom and tell her those real reasons why i'm so anti-social? HELP!

i think that you should talk to your mom about the way that you feel. like. i'm the same way. maybe, you could write you're mom a letter. maybe that will help more. you're obviously very good at putting how you feel about this into writing. hope i helped. xoxo. and the best of luck

there are! it's just that these times are seriously bad. with all the music that is in now, the media is promoting guys to act the way they are. other generations haven't been this bad. you look at like the 90's and things weren't even this bad. i know it sounds weird but the media has a lot to do with it! and the magazines guys read a stuff

but there still are good guys out there!!!! the kind of guys you're describing do exist! there just are tons of them that are stupid and leave us feeling without hope. but there are!

Q: I will turn 15 this month, and I will test for my driving permit. What does the permit test in Texas consist of? Is there an actual driving part or is it just written? And will I have to take the test again in a year when I get my license? Thank you.

i don't live in texas, but i'm sure it's not to different. it's pretty easy and now you can take it online!

you do have to take another test when you get you're liscence but it's a different test. this test is the permit test but u have to take the driver's liscence test and that test requires you to actually get in the car and drive around with a person

Q: I'm going to try to become a vegatarian. I just want to try it out and see if I can live without meat. I heard it helps lose weight. I AM NOT GOING TO BE ANOREXIC! I'm just not going to eat meats. I know meat has a lot of protein, so besides meat what are some healthy foods that have protein?

eggs, beans, peanut butter also has protein so i assume nuts and stuff like that

Q: Hey everybody! I'm 14/f. Well, I have a fear of dogs. It's just that when they get close to me I'm so afraid and start to take off. Once when I was a young kid, my next-door neighbor's dog Kiki was chasing after me and I literally thought that it was going to kill me. I don't want to be afraid of dogs because I think they are the cutest things ever, especially puppies. Does anyone have any advice on how I can overcome my fear of dogs...I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

my mom use to have a huge fear of dogs. now we have four dogs. =) and she loves each and every one of them and plays with them all the time. she says she feels really silly that she was afraid of them. so, i guess the best thing to do is play with them. carry them. pet them. their harmless. the best way to overcome your fear is by being with the dogs

Q: I'm 13 years old and I'm about 5'4. I once heard that if you're 5 feet tall, your supossed to weigh 100 pounds, and for every inch after that, it's another 5 pounds. Well, that would mean that I'm suposed to weigh about 120 pounds, but i only weigh 95. Does this mean I'm 25 pounds UNDERweight? It seems that if I gained 25 pounds, I'd be looking near obese. I don't feel or look underweight. Am I?

it's different for everybody. generally, that rule is more for like a person with an average body and average sized bones. but, you're figure is probably slim and you probably have smaller bones, which is totally normal. everyone is different

Q: how can i get my limewire music to go to my itunes after downloading w/out having to go through && dragging the songs??

if you have a pc- when you download the file, instead of clicking download, click download as and then you can import the songs from wherever you saved the music on (you should save it on "my music"

if you have a mac- it should just go to itunes by itself. if it's not working try having itunes open when you are on limewire

Q: Please answer only if you have experince in ballet or know someone who does...
I am a female, age 14, and I weigh 140lbs (about). Do you think I am too fat to do pointe work? Am I too fat to have a partner? What can I do to ensure that I will be able to start pointe in the fall? (I have to please my teacher and it is totally her choice wether or not I can take pointe) Do you think I need to loose weight for this? Thank you so much

im a ballerina. i know people that weigh mor than you that are at pointe! i weigh about 115 i'm 15 and pointe still hurts loool but really, it's not that bad haha but, i don't think you have to because it doesn't really make a difference unless someone is extremely overweight. i think you'll be fine. you don't have to loose weight unless you want to and u feel that it would benefit you in point. maybe you can go to the dance store and have them let you try on the shoes and see how it feels. i hope i helped!

Q: Well since it's summer I want to get tan, but the only roblem is I'm not going to the beach once the whoel time! I need to find a quick and fast way to get a dark tan as soon as possible. I don't think I'm going to go to a tanning salon because I can't afford the membership. I had bad past experiences with fake tanners (spray ons and lotions). I live in Pennsylvania too, so it's hard for me to get a good tan by laying outside in the sun. Are there any tanning oils out there that really work, or even fake tanners that last for a long time and turn you a bronze color, not orange or brown! Thanks for the Advice!

Q: Ohk i know you can get Aids Or Hiv from someone if you have sex with someone that has it. I was told by many people that even if you use a condom you can also get it. Is it true.?

Only asking because i was watching tv today and on one of the Trojan Condom commercials. Its says to be sure not to get Aids Or HIv. Always use a condom.

No im not out having sex. And im 17 female.

well, the thing is that condoms are only 80 something percent effective. because if the condomn breaks, you could get pregnant or an STD. There is no birth control that is 100% effective

Q: Does anyone else feel that they'd rather get like 4th place in something rather than 2nd place? It angers me so much when I'm second best in something because it's like if I could have put a bit more effort into it, I could have gotten first. So I'd rather be like 5th, 4th, or 3rd rather than 2nd. My coaches and parents tell me that I need to stop thinking this way and that I should be proud of getting 2nd place in something and I know that but I can't help it. Does anyone else feel this way, ever?

ohhh yea sometimes that happends. like, in my school sometimes people rather get like a 94 instead of a 96. i mean, it's still an A, but i dunno it's just one of those things u noe?

Q: Hey, I have a 3 month old hamster and she was pregnant, VERY pregnant. She was so fat that she could barely walk. She had 4 babies on July 6th, and wouldn't take care of them, so they all died!!! :[ But, she is still huge and still has a nest, and gets nippy at me when i try to pet her. Could she STILL be pregnant with more babies?

sometimes, for animals it takes a while to have all their babies. when my dog had puppies she had three in the morning and the fourth one at night. but i don't know if it could take as long as a day!!!!! i would still call the vet and make sure if i were you to get a second opinion

I started this column when I was 15 years old, so you'll notice that the advice has gotten better and better. I've always been interested in counseling and I started this column to gain experience. But, I found a lot more than that. I found a support system of caring and loving people. I received a degree in child development and currently working towards becoming a school psychologist. So, I hope you can feel confident in trusting me with your questions. This is more than just a fun site for me. I look back on my own questions from years ago, and I laugh when I read about my problems at 16. I've really come a long way! I'm relatively young, but I've had several experiences in life that have aided me in helping others. I hope to use those experiences for the greater good and help others who are not in their ideal situation!
