i love curling my hair with a curling iron. but everytime i do it, the curls only stay in for 2 hours or less.. i put hair spary in (loads of it) but it doesnt work. anyone know any kinds of hairspary or something?
Just another suggestion to throw out there... if you're looking for really tight spirals I have the answer for you. I don't know what type of curling iron you have, but I have one with a spiral around it that gives you an awesome curl that stays in for hours. I purchased mine at walmart, it was made by conair, and im pretty sure it wasn't more than $15. Another thing you might want to try if you're not willing to buy the new curling iron is not washing your hair directly before curling because it could cause your hair to be more limp. If you're afriad your hairs not smelling completely fresh top it off with some herbal essence hairspray. that should do the trick =)

hey im 13 and a female. i was wondering are looks an important part in a relationship? all my friends say it is but i think its a lil shallow.

While it does help to be attracted to another person, you don't need to be drop dead gorgeous/handsome to be in a relationship. It shouldn't be the basis, but I think if your attracted to someone, it makes the relationship all the more better. It shouldn't be what triggers the whole thing though. I just think no matter what a person looks like their personality can physically attract you & them. :)
So my guy friends girlfriend broke up with him a couple months ago. Which doesn`t seem like a big deal, but the day she broke up with him she went to another guys house and "did stuff" with him. Which totally broke my friends heart. Since then, his ex has gotten into drugs, had sex, and given in to upper class men.. My friend and his ex had not talked since, other than arguing and accusations.. But he finally just started having normal conversations with her again. I was talking to him tonight and he told me he`s still in love with her. Hes asking me for advice, but I don`t know what to tell him on this one. She`s not right for him at all. Totally wrong..
Please help me, he`s coming to me asking for advice.. It just hurts me to know that he`s in love with someone who has treated him so bad, because I care for him so much. I don`t know whether to tell him to go after her again or to just give up all together..

You have to understand where he's coming from. Regardless of all she's done, he probably still remembers all the good times they had. Some times people have a hard time accepting change, and that seems to be your friends case.
You can't simply tell him to "get over her" that would be insensitive. He's hurt right now. Tell him that as difficult as it seems right now, there's other girls out there and his ex isn't the only one.
Explain to him that maybe he should stop talking to her, because sometimes people change and, yeah, it's a hell of a letdown but there's really nothing anyone can do about it. If he's not already aware of all the things she 'did' maybe you should break the news to him. I'm under the impression that he does know, but maybe you should remind him.
He has to understand she's a different person now, doing all sorts of things, probably having a bad reaction to the whole breakup. She sounds like a complete ass if she broke up with him and then did it with another guy the same day! That's pretty lame.
I feel really bad for your friend! It's always the nice guys getting pushed around :( We need more guys like him. He's still chasing after that girl, it's sort of sweet.

Start talking to new guys. It's going to have to hurt bad before you can get over him, so try and endure the pain and deal with it upfront. Don't ignore the breakup. You might need a little time from your X if he's still acting like you guys are dating. He might just be doing that so it isn't awkward between you two. Keep an open mind and try and talk to different guys.
Okay, I'm moving to Maryland, and I've recently become obsessed with this guy I'm gonna meet there. I know I'm going to fall in love with him, and I half have already. I don't know who he is, what he looks like, or anything. I just know he's there.

This is an interesting question. I'm not sure so much that you're in love with one specific person, but maybe you've been put through a rough time wherever you are now and are just anticipating meeting some great guy and starting fresh.
I don't think you have one specific guy in mind, I don't know if that would be possible. I think what you do know is that your going to meet a bunch of new really nice guys. I hope you do, and maybe you'll even find the one for you!

what do I do if I like someone
It's pretty simple. You either:
1. Decide to tell them and see if they feel the same way back. If your a girl, I don't suggest this because most guys like making the first move. It's really up to you though.
2. Don't tell them directly but maybe hint at it. For example, flirt a lot and ask if they wanna hang out some time. That's only if you guys talk.
If you two don't really know eachother yet, make a point of getting to know that person better.
ive known this guy for about 5 years and hes my best friend. i never used to think i had feelings for him until now. but things are getting confusing now, when we hang out he'll do things like put his arm around me or cuddle and i dont know what to think. im starting to feel things for him but i have no idea what he feels about me. i dont know if i should ignore these feelings because i dont want to ruin the friendship we have. any advice would be helpful.
Unless he's naturally flirty, he's got all the signs for liking you. You can't ignore your gut feeling, if it's strong enough it'll keep coming back. I understand you don't want to ruin the friendship, but it seems like he's already crossed the borders, and there's kind of no turning back at this point. Normal best friends don't "cuddle", and if you guys have on more than one occasion I think he's trying to hint at you.

I'm not just going to list every scary movie I know for the sake of it.
First of all, the boogey man really is NOT that scary. If you wanna get really scared, you have to know what to pick. I think a lot of people answering this question are misunderstanding the purpose of you asking. By listing 10 movies, they're not helping you. I'm going to eliminate what I think are the two most scariest.
28 Days Later is certainly scare-the-hell-out-of-you material. That and Dawn of the Dead are pretty much equal in my book, they sort of have a familiar premis if you've ever seen either.
If you do chose one of these, understand it will effect your sleep! Scared the crap out of me.

I am aware that this will not get an award for brevity, but humor me.
Background info: I am someone who is known to have an incredibly individual, crazy, random style. I love uniqueness, and I hate wearing things that I know what 1 million other people are wearing. This goes for anything of the sort, whether it's a studded belt or a short little Hollister skirt- BUT this question is mostly geared towards the latter (to clarify, the clothing that the so-called "pretty people" wear).
I'm really trying to comprehend how people can like clothing like what is sold at Hollister or those type of stores. I guess it's almost humorous since I know the majority of people ask the same question about my outfits a good deal of the time- what could she possibly be thinking with that outfit? But I just don't understand...and I'm honestly trying to be as accepting of others expressions as I wish they would be of my own.
What joy do you get out of wearing these mass manufactured clothes that aren't even worth taking two looks at? They are so BORING and unoriginal and so..lacking in any creativity. Not to mention, those skirts practically show butt cheeks and things I DO NOT WANT TO SEE! EW! Between the false advertising (Feefee's stupid ass coconut shack, etc.) and the atrocious amount of skin shown, I can only wonder what America's "pretty people" are thinking and if they really are so "pretty."
Can someone please help me understand?
I have to say you make a very good point, as this is a very intelligent question. I like what the columnist beneath me had to say.
I'm going to let you know off the bat that I'm one of those people who might shop at Hollister from time to time. Before you write me off, hear what I have to say. Yes, those shorty short skirts could go. I personally would feel naked if I was wearing one of those, and would not allow myself to step into public. And yes those false advertisement shirts are really a nuisance, but atleast no ones forcing YOU to have to wear them.
About the unoriginality, I'm not so sure that's true. Some people have a desire to be noticably different, while others don't nescesarily yearn for it but can still stand out in the crowd. I have to say that if you shop at hollister it does not automatically make you like everybody else. First of all, I think Abercrombie and Fitch is more overdone than Hollister, but I guess that's not the point.
Some people might just throw on a plain old polo and a pair of jeans. Where there are others who might layer and try different colors and maybe a pair of pants that aren't jeans. It depends how creative you are. There are some preppy styles that are more "daring".
And this may come off as strange, but I think the "joy" people get out of wearing these clothes is because they like them. Whether or not you think they're too common, I don't think that's nescesarily true. People can mix and match them with different clothes from other stores. That's the cool part of it. That's what makes it creative.
So maybe it seems unoriginal to you, but just like you might like to wear something a bit outlandish, others like to wear their preppy clothes.
Again...cheeky shorts or mini skirts can go die. They ruin an outfit. They scream for the wrong attention. So let's hope every girl out there that insists on wearing them gets raped by a 53-year-old transexual truck driver.
Just kidding. What I mean is, there's not really much we can do. Just enjoy your style and respect other people's even if it's not your favorite. Clothes is clothes. They're just materials used to conceal ourselves so that we're not completely naked. Where it ever got so complex with 'fashion' and 'style' I do not know. I want you to keep in mind just how a super mini skirt could attract bad attention, so can a very 'different' pair of lime green leggings. It's sort of the same. Just how you think hollister is dreadful, so might someone who saw your different style.
If you wish to be respected, you have to attempt to respect others. Which, you might already be doing. I'm not trying to badmouth your style. I know plenty of people who have the same attitude about fashion or clothes. In fact, you'd get along great with a lot of people I know.

How can you tell if a shy boy likes you?
You generally can't because he might not let on and he probably doesn't flirt so much. However, if he seems to be a bit less shy around a certain girl, then it's possible that he likes her.
Also you might catch him staring at you often, joking around with you, sitting near you in class, stuff like that.

Don't let him know no matter what happens. If the boy calls your house just tell him your really good friends and he was asking for homework. There's tons of ways to dodge around the fact you're going out. Maybe if you have a cell phone have him call that for a while and not your home phone. Trust me, it's not that big of a deal. I think it'll be pretty easy to hide.

I think i have writers block. I love writing but these days i cant write even when i want to. What to do!?
Write on your own free time one day. Meaning not for school or contests or anything else. Pick something simple and ramble about it. For example, I once wrote a piece on a rolling pin. Write whatever you want to write and practice. Even if those pieces you write on your free time come out badly, atleast you're writing again! You'll eventually get into the habit of writing. Also, I am ALWAYS encouraged to write whenever I read a good book. You feel like you want to create a world for yourself just like the author did. You tend to use some of the author's technique that you saw in the novel. This is perfectly fine as long as your not plaguarising. Nobody is 100% original. Everyone's ideas come from a collaboration of a lot of different ideas.

Well, I'm not really sure what you're asking but I'll give it my best shot. Put yourself in the girlfriend's shoes. Say you were dating this guy and you were really into him. You wouldn't want him flirting relentlessly with some other girl. I think you should have compassion and withdraw yourself when he flirts with you. Act a little disinterested, and don't flirt back. If he decides to break up with that girl and comes with open arms to you, then it'll be up for you to decide. Just remember, there's no point in flirting back right now because it's not like you can go out. And you don't want him to break up with her and immediately go out with you, because you'll be making bad names for yourself. Again I'm not exactly understanding the gravity of the situation so if you want inbox me some more or leave a cute comment ;-)

I don't think it matters either way, but if you have anything to hide on your face you might want to consider. Do you have a beauty mark of scar you don't like? Anything on the left or right side of your face you want to cover? Because if you do, consider that when you chose which way the bangs should be swept. That's the real beauty in having bangs! Other than that, I don't think it makes a difference. I personally like side bangs longer, they're easier to pull out of your face if needed, and there really is no such thing as "too long" because if the hairdresser starts to cut them and you prefer to have them shorter, you can always cut them shorter. However, it's not like you can grow your bangs longer if they came out too short. See what I mean?
