if you want a disturbing movie get saw. its not scarry, just disturbing. ive been told the grudge is scarry but when i watched it it didnt scare me, but im used to watching movies like that.

I'm not just going to list every scary movie I know for the sake of it.
First of all, the boogey man really is NOT that scary. If you wanna get really scared, you have to know what to pick. I think a lot of people answering this question are misunderstanding the purpose of you asking. By listing 10 movies, they're not helping you. I'm going to eliminate what I think are the two most scariest.
28 Days Later is certainly scare-the-hell-out-of-you material. That and Dawn of the Dead are pretty much equal in my book, they sort of have a familiar premis if you've ever seen either.
If you do chose one of these, understand it will effect your sleep! Scared the crap out of me.

.:signs -only scary the firstv time you wtach it but still, the scariness is at a low minimum

.:house of wax - it's funny, has hott guys in it and intense... some grossness
