It went really well =]
I only got lost ONCE!
And I saw all my friends, which was really nice.
The teachers seem good.
My government teacher (the one class I'm dreading) likes me already cause I wrote the schedule on the board for him, even though It was lopsided=X
So all around, pretty good first day =]

I was directing a tour of my school for the community- and I almost got lost- it was funny.
Some of my friends were in my group and so was my mom.
All the people in my group were like "You did such a good job! Thank you!" afterward. So I guess I did good =D.

They started phasing French out of my district this year. So they don't offer French 1 anymore. Next year there is no French 2. The year after there is no French 3. The year after that, no French 4 and then no AP French.
They've replaced it with Chinese.. Hmm. I don't see many people taking it.
We have Japanese, Spanish and German. All go from 1-AP, but Japanese only goes from 1-4.

I know. I'm glad I joined Spanish back in 8th grade because French 3 and 4 are combined classes this year at my school because there are only three French 4 students. And German 3 and 4 are also combined, because there are only five German 4 students.
But I'm lucky because there are eighteen or so Spanish 4 students so we have our own class.

Nice. I hate foriegn language. I have friends that are of the hispanic region, but honestly, i didnt go to their country. They came to mine. So why should i learn to speak their language? Now see if i were to go to their country it would be different.

I actually disagree with you teardrops, sure they came here, and maybe they should learn a bit of English, but that doesn't mean you can say things like what you said.
Language barriers are hard to overcome. English is one of the hardest languages, other than Japanese, to learn.
I'm in Spanish class now, and even me as a 4.0 student who understands most things, I still struggle with learning their language.
Give them a break.

And today I found out we have like 8 different Spanish classes. We only have 4 [and an AP] for French, 3 for Japanese, and I'm not sure about German.
And those are the only languages my school offers, and sign language which doesn't actually "count" as a foreign language.

We have Spanish 1-3, and you can take Spanish 4 independently.
It honestly sucks, because I only have to have 1 more foreign language to graduate with an Advanced Diploma, but I'm terrified of retaking Spanish 3. (I failed it the first time) I've done forgotten everything that I learned in Spanish class, so I just know I'd fail it again.
I'm thinking about taking French 1 next semester, but unfortunately it's over Fiber Optics, and I hate Fiber Optic classes. Anyways, how is it? Easier/harder than Spanish? Fun to learn?

I've heard Spanish is a lot harder than French.
I've never really had trouble with French, but I've never taken Spanish.

My French teacher this year is pretty cool, too.
And she's SO dedicated to French, it kind of helps motivate me to take those extra 5 minutes I have in homeroom to look up a few new vocabulary words. haha =]

My winter break, though I prefer to call it Christmas break, is usually 16 days. But this year I only have 13 days off >=O.
I get from December 20-January 2.
But in November, we get the 26, 27 and 28th off for Thanksgiving, which is Wed-Fri.
And we get a curriculum day off on November 4th.
Ew and in March, I have to take the Michigan Merit Exam for 3 days. The rest of the school gets the days off while the juniors take the MEAP, ACT and the Merit Exam. Yuck.
