Maybe say that you want everything to be perfect first time you have sex with him, and when a woman is having her period it's really not a great time. As you've been dating for two years already, one could hardly says he's been 'pushy' and waiting just a tiny bit longer shouldn't be an issue. Don't be shy about period, it's a perfectly natural (and unavoidable) part of being a woman. Quite a lot of guys don't know much about the actual facts and effects of the menstrual cycle. And obviously it's not an experience they share in! Mostly guys don't want or need to know the details, so it's very unlikely he'll ask you much, or anything about it. "I'm having my period" (just a few words, when you think about it) should be enough to get a kind of "Oh, OK sorry...didn't know" response and they (we) are quite willing to wait for a better time. Is that a bit taboo in your relationship? I know it grosses some guys out a bit but best tell him that rather than him think you're just not interested.

However I cant help but think that maybe you aren't ready if you dont feel comfortable telling him about your cycle? Just a thought.
adviceman49 answered Wednesday November 4 2015, 10:07 am: Every guy who has ever dated has had to face this problem. While I'm assuming this may be the first time you two may be having sex he is not unaware of a woman's biological function.
Simply tell him it is the wrong time of the month for you. I will tell also add this and you must decide for yourself if you want to. There are some men who like to have sex with a women when she is having her period. There is no reason not to other than it could be messy. Of course if you are suffering any discomfort from your period then of course you would not want to. Otherwise put some towels under you and enjoy yourselves. Of course if this is the first time the two of you are having sex it may not be the best time for you two to do so. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

The best thing you can do is not to have sex before wedding if you can. Think over it as 80% girls have 1st sex with guys but dont end up getting married with the same guy.
the data on period sex and STD risk isn't all that clear. While self-reported data does suggest that period sex is associated with an increased risk of STDs, more rigorous studies have not found as clear-cut results. Although I'm not convinced that anyone is ever going to put the time and effort into doing the research, it might well turn out that the association between STDs and period sex is more about the type of people who have sex during menstruation than the absolute risk of having sex while a woman is bleeding.
That said, if you're going to have sex during menstruation, it's certainly not safer than doing so during other times of your menstrual cycle, and so it's still a good idea to use condoms and take other safer sex precautions such as using appropriate lubrication... not to mention precautions to keep from getting blood stains on your mattress. Those things are crazy expensive to clean [ tigershark's advice column | Ask tigershark A Question ]
