Really? 5'8" at age 13 seems tall to me. I'm 23 years old and female, and I'm only 5'3"

I'm done with puberty, so I'll be this height forever. You, on the other hand, are just beginning puberty and you'll more than likely hit a growth spurt. You'll be okay. Don't worry.

Size doesn't matter, at all. Whether you're 16 and 5"8 or 13 and 5"8. Personally, i'm 5"2, and I'm much other than 13. You're taller than most 13 year olds, but once again, size shouldn't matter. Be happy within yourself.

no :) im 13 to, and im 4"11! i hope
im not done growing yet, but whatever! people that are taller than me say that im short too. i think that they have fun just picking on us :) but its basically just your genes. if you had tall parents, you mostly gonna be tall. i think your tall for 13, but there are definetly people taller. dont sweat it, your still growing. and you are absolutely PERFECT just the way you are :)

No matter what there will almost always be someone here and there who will be taller than you are. But with that being said, the evidence is all around you. You are certainly not short for your age. And in my personal opinion, being that I am a few inches smaller than you myself, I really wouldn't consider you short at all.

The bottom line is that it really doesn't matter what other people say when you can look around and see the reality for yourself.

Chances are the people calling you short are just doing so because they know it is something you have some insecurity about and will get to you.

Don't worry about it. Short, tall, big or small, in the grand scheme of life, this issue is anything but big.

It really doesnt matter what others consider your height to be, whether short, average or tall. What matters is that you are comfortable and at peace with your height. One of the most attractive thing to a girl about a guy is one who is comfortable in his own skin. He is okay with his looks, height, sexual orientation and "the size of his package". He is confident, approachable and friendly to all. The girls who really matter are not going to find it matters what height you are right now. You still have lots of growing time left. Some guys get a late growth spurt like adviceman did. My husband had a pretty much hairless body into his 30's. Then all of a sudden he began to grow more and more body hair until he became as hairy as a sasquatch. So there are some guys who have some body growth and maturing changes that can still come on real late.
Ignore what the guys say. Instead, be confident and wear a smile and see who attracts the girls.

While you may be shorter than your friends you are about average for your age whereas they may be above average for their age. Depending on when you enter or entered puberty will depend on when you hit your growth spurt.

When I was your age I was about your height. By the time I was 18 I was 6' 2" tall. I hit my growth spurt when I was 16 and actually added the last 2 inches while I was in basic training with the Air Force.

Nothing says you will be 6' 2" inches tall. There is no way to accurately predict you height. Height is somewhat hereditary. Look at the other men in your family both on moms and dads side. It is conceivable if all the men in the family are tall you will be too. It is also possible that somewhere in the past someone was shorter than the rest of the family and you inherited those genes. There is no way to tell.

Only your doctor using an x-ray of your growth plates can tell when you have stopped growing. By the way 5'8" is not all that short. It is the low end of average for an American adult male. Some very famous people have been shorter than average. This would include astronauts, NASCAR drivers and some NFL running backs.
