Am i still a good christian?

Question Posted Friday August 26 2011, 1:36 am

Ever since I was little I've had the worst experiences in church I was always badly judged because of my past mistakes and because my father made bad mistakes to I tried soo many churches but it was all the same. I've greatly improved and I've devoted my life to God and doing my best to please him but I get so scared I don't want to go near any churchs so I don't know what to really do. Anyone know what I can do?

Just remember one thing, you don't go to church for others or for your family, you Go to church for yourself and to get that one connection with God. if they laugh at you, if they judged you, if they persecute you, remember Jesus say if they persecute you, they persecuted me first. Seek God first, and don't worry about others.
Get fear under your feet, for you have already conquered the world through Jesus.

Remained blessed

You make God proud... I'm sure He's smiling down upon you right now.
Don't be so harsh with yourself, I know where you're coming from. I questioned my faith for a while and found that there was no church for me but the Catholic church.
Don't let fear of church stand in the way though, as that can be very harmful of your relationship with God. When we take a leap of faith, that's when we truly experience God's faithfulness and involvement in our lives. Ask Him to direct you and guide you to a parish where you will feel comfortable.
Fear is a weapon of the devil- do not let it affect you, you're stronger than that. We are made to be courageous... but courage doesn't mean the absence of fear.
Don't let peoples' judgments reflect God's judgments.... it's not their place to decide your worthiness. God is merciful and forgiving and wants to see you in that church pew I'm sure. :)
Start reading more scripture and start your day by saying "God I devote everything I do today to you. I offer it up."
Things will become clearer in time, but you have to be patient.

God bless! I hope I helped.

P.S. It always helps to ask a priest for advice, or someone a part of a particular church.

Each and every person makes mistakes. We aren't perfect. If we didn't make mistakes, God wouldn't exist in our minds.

Every church is different, the messages are the same but the way they are proposed is completely different. You may like one different than another. Keep looking for what catches your attention.

The past is the PAST. You aren't supposed to live in the past, you are supposed to learn from it and GROW. Move foward and realize what had happened is past tense. Leave the past behind and make the future better by bettering yourself and making you who you are. God doesn't judge you by your past, he pushes you to grow foward and makes certain decisions in your life that will take you to a higher level. You may not realize it but God is doing something in your life right now! You may not realize it until it is completey resolved or till you realize you have improved generally.

He will ALWAYS forgive you! BUT, make sure you learn, don't repeat.

You don't have to go to church to stay connected with God. There is music, books, the Bible, religious teaching shows, websites. Wherever you go, you are always going to be connected to his presence some how!

GOD BLESS YOU!
I hope this helps. (: ♥

You're still a good Christian. I guess the churches you went to just weren't the best for you. Everybody makes mistakes and those people in those churches might have made worse mistakes than you have.
God still loves you no matter what mistakes you make.
People judge you wherever you go but don't let them get you down because you're doing so much better now.

God takes you in after every past mistake. He still loves you exactly the same as He loved you before. If people aren't willing to look past your mistakes...then that's their issue. God is forgiving, and that's why he sent Jesus in the first place to die for your sins. I know what's it like to be scared to go to a new church with people that will most definitely judge you, but it needs to be done at some point. Bring someone with you to church, like a close family member or friend. You'll find that a lot of people that go to that church are nice, and the people that aren't, you don't need to worry about them. Just focus on your own walk with God and you'll be fine. God still loves you with all his heart and is waiting for you with open arms. Also, there is no such thing as a "good christian." Everyone makes mistakes and all sins are equal to God. You're no worse than anyone else and no one else is "better" than you. Don't worry! <3

Go to a priest in conffession, he will be the best to tell you.

But remember, Jesus is a Just and merciful God.
He knows what you have been through and even what will be happening to you BEFORE it happens!!!
and He created you because he LOVES YOU DEarly! and he is so happy that you have dovoted your life to Him! well done!
He just wants us to be good and lead others to Him by being good examples to people around us.

Remember also, if the birds are taken cared of, what more YOU! he knows all the leaves in each tree, what more his creation, YOU!! he will take care of you and never leave you- after all, this life is temporary- the real life is the one after and that is the reward! to be with God in Heaven!
you will be alright I will pray for you! :)
