I need to lose 15-20 pounds in about 20 days I need exercises I can do inside and healthy eating habits please bc I kinda have no will power I've been trying to chew gum to get my mind off the food
Savvyreese answered Saturday June 25 2011, 7:57 pm: Well, it's really not healthy but if you drink milk of magnesia (alot more than what's recommended on the bottle) it'll help you lose weight. It's a laxative. Poop everything you eat, but the bad part is, you don't get the nutrients from the food either. That's how I lose weight quickly when I need to. The proper way to loose weight starts with a visit to your doctor and a complete physical. Then with your doctor supervising your diet and a proper weight goal in mind. You should visit a nutritionist for a proper diet plan. A proper weight goal is one that is right for your body, frame size and level of activity. The nutritionist will plan a diet around these factors as well. Then with proper exercise and regular visits to your doctor you will not only loose the weight you want too, but you most likely will keep it off.
The problems with fad diets, quick loss diet is they may help you loose weight quickly but rarely do you keep the weight off. Quick loss diets are very often harmful as well since they do not take certain needed factors about you into consideration. That is why you should never start a diet without first consulting with your doctor and allowing your doctor to medically supervise you while dieting.
Whatever your reason for wanting to loose that much weight in so little time is not worth possibly harming yourself over. If you truly need to loose that type of weight, then do so. But so so properly. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]
NinjaNeer answered Friday June 17 2011, 9:44 am: Sure, you can lose 15-20 lbs in 20 days. You'll need a saw and crutches, because you'd have to cut off one of your legs.
It's not possible.
Missmietze is actually mistaken. It's not 500 calories per pound... it's 3500 calories per pound. So let's say you're an average female (guessing) and you need to eat about 1500 calories a day to keep your current weight. That means that you would have to stop eating entirely AND burn 2000 calories a day (which is about 2 hours on an elliptical) just to have a chance. And that wouldn't even work, because your body will shut down and stop losing weight because giant warning signs go off telling it that you're starving yourself.
Healthy weight loss happens at a maximum of 1-2 lbs per week. You may be able to lose more with a crash diet, but the moment you go off it I can guarantee that you'll gain it all back and then some within a week. Trust me, I've been there.
Exercises to do inside: You can usually get exercise DVDs at Wal-Mart or somewhere similar for 10 dollars or less. They may be corny, but they're fun and it takes the guess-work out of exercising in the home. Anything by Jillian Michaels is fantastic.
Healthy eating habits: Don't cut out junk food entirely, or else you'll end up binging on it in a weak moment. Just eat it in moderation (I have a rule where I'm allowed sweets after dinner only). Don't starve yourself. If you're hungry, eat. Stick to high fibre foods (they keep you full longer) and make sure you're getting enough protein so that your body doesn't start metabolizing your muscles. Veggies and dip is a great snack. So is a piece of fruit and a piece of cheese (having both together will help keep you full longer). Try to keep your salt intake down, and cut out drinks except for water. And that's about it. missmietze answered Friday June 17 2011, 1:43 am: > Short answer: it's IMPOSSIBLE; there's no healthy way to lose that much weight that quickly. Even if you managed to lose it, you'd gain it back pretty quick.
> Long answer: ok, it's possible, but it's really not healthy. You'd be better off doing a 2-week internal cleanse regimen.
Here's what you need to know:
1 pound of body weight = approx. 500 calories.
So to lose 20 pounds, you'd need to either cut out or burn off 10,000 calories, or about 500 calories/day. If you insist on endangering your health, it'd be easiest to do the following:
- Burn 250 calories (aerobic exercise)
- Cut out 250 calories (eat less)
- Follow the Atkins Diet style of eating for the next 20 days.
It won't be fun, but it's doable. Just please, be careful!
