Not only are the changes of getting an infection always possible but if you chuck something that doesn't belong up there you also could very well raise the risk of yeast infections, UTI's etc. I highly recommend NOT doing it again. If anything I would use your hand at least that isn't a hazard... [ OhMyLucyDarling's advice column | Ask OhMyLucyDarling A Question ]

Melody answered Sunday May 16 2010, 9:58 pm: It isn't safe, & you should NEVER do it again. With that being said, you will more than likely be okay.
I'll bet you will end up with a nasty yeast infection, but other than that you should be okay. If you experience any vaginal problems that persists for more than a week, or you suddenly get sick (fever, chills, etc) you should get to a doctor as soon as possible. That means you probably have an infection. [ Melody's advice column | Ask Melody A Question ]

Thing with bananas is that they've got rough spots which can cause tears. They're also not particularly clean, so bacteria and dirt can get into those little cuts inside of you and cause some problems.
Chances are, you'll be okay (minus the cuts) but you want to prevent this occurring in the future. If you are going to use produce, or anything that isn't a medical grade sex toy, you should make sure to put a condom on it. That will keep things safer.
