I farted on my boyfriend and he was totally grossed out! HELP!

Question Posted Friday February 26 2010, 6:14 am

I was with my boyfriend yesterday and we were just hanging out. I got on his lap and we were making out a little and I got some gas. I was going to get up and go to the bathroom but it slipped out and I totally farted on my boyfriend! I turned red and apologized but it really did smell pretty bad and lingered in my room. He was SO grossed out and went home like 15 minutes later and didn't call me to say goodnight like he usually does. I'm SO embarrassed to even talk to him about this! He really didn't seem very pleased (not that I would expect him to be) but I don't know why he's taking it so hard and is upset...or maybe I'm just overreacting and misinterpretting the situation / his reaction? I don't know what to do now.

Why is something so natural so embarrassing?
A boyfriend is supposed to be understanding and if he's pissed about it, he clearly is taking it way too far.
Just talk to him about it, he's your boyfriend for goodness sake. You should be able to talk about anything and be comfortable doing things in each other presence. Accidents happen - say you didn't mean to and ask what the heck his problem is and why he's acting like this over it.
I hope you're misunderstanding and he's not annoyed about you farting and he's just not having the best of days?
I'm curious to know what happens, leave some feedback.
Good luck and don't feel bad about it.

Just go on like it didn't happen. Farting is normal, and you can't help it. Everybody does it and if he's going to be that upset over something so stupid, he probably isn't the one.

Really, if he can't deal with that, he needs to grow up. Not like it's something he hasn't done before.
You don't need to do anything unless he brings it up.

If he usally calls you every night and didn't last night for that reason it is stupid. yes farting can be embarssing but its natural. trust me the first time i farted in front of my husband and it was one that slipped. he laughed and said feel better. i feel embarssed but its natural and he does it all the time. (what i get for marrying a country boy lol. it he is still not talking to you hes being a jerk and shouldnt treat it that way.

no really she did though, we just laughed it off even though she was embaressed. If he doesnt bring it up again dont worry bout it. embaressing things happen.
but if he does take it too hard tell him he over reacting. because all in all.. its just a fart...
