If I already had the swine H1N1 flu (verified) then do I need the vaccine?

Question Posted Friday October 2 2009, 1:33 am

So, apparently I caught the H1N1 swine flu last week (verified by my doctor; yes, he ran some tests for it). It was pretty awful but aren't all flus? Anyway, do I still need the H1N1 swine flu vaccine? I mean, if I already overcame it, it means I'm immune for this year, right? I'm still getting a seasonal flu shot, but do I actually need the specific H1N1 vaccination?

I've had it too. and I got a booklet about it, explaining that it IS possible to get it again, because the virus mutates.

No, you won't need the vaccine. A lot of people don't get even the regular flu shot and they're fine. It's not a requirement to get it anyways.

Once your body has developed the anti-body for the flu or infection, it should never bother you again, example. chicken pox...or scarlet fever.....
Vacine's are just after all a weakened form of the diease so that your body can create an anti-body for it, so technically youre completley safe!! But it might combine with another diease.
So you're immune to H1NI, but JUST H1N1.

in science i learned that you can never get the same sickness like flu or cold more than once. but it can mutate and get worse and you think its the same thing but its not. you should really ask your doctor if it would actually help you out if not then i dont see why you should have to get it.
