Sounds like migraines. I had them for a few months, my mother had them for years. Talk to your doctor! I didn't because I had no idea what was happening, so I suffered through it...no meds, nothing. There are plenty of things a doctor can tell/give you and if they continue it could be a symptom of something serious.

And if you're like me, and you hate going to the doctor, keep reminding yourself that a shot hurts for a few seconds...death lasts forever.

I find that I am a great deal older than most of the advisers on this site, so my advice will be somewhat different from what you have received and may continue to receive from others.

It is obvious from what you have written that over the counter medications are not helping with your headaches. Headaches can be the result of a myriad of causes; among them would be fatigue, dehydration and allergies or it could be none of the above. Your headaches could be the result of high blood pressure, low blood pressure. It may be as simple as needing reading glasses or some other things that only a doctor can diagnose.

Advice website like this one are not designed to answer medical questions. To the best of my knowledge no one on this website is a medical doctor, therefore none of us are qualified to make a medical diagnoses.

Since you did not give your age I am going to assume you still live at home with your parents. My advice to you is to tell your parents about your headache and let them take you to your family doctor. The most painful test the doctor will most likely run is a simple blood test. Any of the other tests that might be run are more scary than painful. The tests I am thinking of would only be run if the simpler tests proved negative or pointed to a needed for a more in depth test.

Most headaches are just that, headaches. If you are as young as I think you are the cause of the headaches may be the changes your body is going through and the hormonal changes that are taking place. This is something modern pharmacology can help with but is not available in over the counter medications. So go see your family doctor and let him or her get to the cause of your problem.

If you have gone through some drastic changes it could be a stress headache. Those are the most painful. They usually turn into migraines. It can last for a while and yes no matter what you take it will sit dormant until your mind clears.

Or it could be an allergy headache that is associated with an upper respiratory infection. If you have allergies it can be an ongoing headache as well.

Try some allergy medication to see if it releases some of the tension, get plenty of rest and drink lots of water.

Having a stress headache can be very painful. Take a headache reliever and get plenty of rest. Sometimes it gets hard to be around a lot of individuals so lay low for a while and just hydrate your body.

Good luck

You know what they say if pain persist see your Doctor. That a long time to have a head ach my friend. Migrains are very painful and can last for days you see a white dot infront of you where ever you look you have to be in quiet zones like bed and in the dark to get any kind of relief and can even make you nauseous. I have had a few in my life not many but if I get a head ace I pressure punture the web of skin above my thumb joint there is a nerve there that relieves headace. You can google this information to get the right spot. good luck

You may be experiencing a migraine. Try Excedrin Migraine. I've never had to take it, but Excedrin works really good. :)

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, but I think I solved it. It's hard to diagnose it because there are so many different causes of headaches. Think about this:

*Are you drinking enough water?
*Are you getting enough exercise?
*Are you spending too much time indoors?
*Are you spending too many hours in front of a computer or television screen?
*Have you been under a lot of stress?
*Do you think you might getting your period? (if you are a female).
*Are you eating enough?

There are a lot of factors that could trigger a headache, so you need to be aware of that first. Pain medication helps to an extent, but if the headache keeps coming back, it's probably a sign that your body needs something that you aren't supplying, and that's important. If after considering all of this and you are still having problems with headaches, you should see a doctor.
You also might be dealing with are chronic migraines, and if so, a doctor can prescribe something to help you with that.

Hope you feel better soon!
