A 10 year old is going through rapid development change, he will need consistancy to optimise his physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Get him outdoors, take him to the playground, go to a themepark, on walks, do things together. Or maybe go see a movie or the aquarium, there are many options you can do outside the family home. But if your financially unable to (as well as transport) you may result to things like playing backyard cricket or football, or getting out board games to try or maybe he can have a friend over while your parents are out.

Maybe you could go for a bike ride with him or take him to a skate park if he likes to skateboard. You might offer for him to bring a friend if that's an option. He might like to go to the movies. He might like to play a board game with you or you could sketch some drawings with him. You could also play catch with him in the backyard or the park.

Well, considering he's 10 he probably like action figures and building stuff with legos.

I would just play with his action figures with him. If that doesn't work out, take him to the park. He might like that. :)

Darby had some really good answers.

You can also play sports with him (if he likes soccer, kick a soccer ball around...if he likes basketball, throw around a basketball.)

Invent a board game!
Cook or bake together.
Ask him what he likes to do for fun, and do that with him.

board games
movies
tv
card games
coloring/drawing

going for a walk
let him invite a friend over and keep an eye on them, they'll keep each other entertained

good luck,
darby(:
