is it normal for a 16 year old girl to have some gray hair? I was looking through my hair and found strands of gray hair ...I don't think its genetic because my mother started getting gray hair when she was 25 ..why am I getting gray hair at 16?? Is there any reason as to why and how to stop it?
If you pluck them & they grow back gray as well, it could be a pigment related problem. If they grow the color that your hair really is, then I guess it's just stress.
Just try & relax every once in a while before you do something you know could be stressful.

That's why I got them. And I think you should dye it rather than pulling it. Because if you pull it, then you'll get more. I got more white hair when I pulled it out so I think you should dye it. And don't worry you're not the only one who gets grey or white hair at these teen age. Hope I helped :) [ xospbabiiexo's advice column | Ask xospbabiiexo A Question ]
It is very normal to have gray hair at a young age exspecially if it is genetic. As you stated mom didnt get hers until she was 25. Depending on when you get yours is totally up to your body. Mom Dad and siblings we all have differents bodies but run in the same blood. One is more advance than others keep that in mind. It could have came 2 years before or 2 more years in the future. Stess I couldnt say I am no med doctor or research analyst to say if in fact stress causes the chain reactions.
As far as stopping the gray hair..
It is not possible to stop the process of gray hair. If there is one make sure it is approved by FDA also( make aware of side effects)
for example: you want to cover up or stop gray hair, but one of the side effect hair loss down the road
Second you can dye your hair but when the dye runs out, you spend more time and money looking for more gray strand and more dye in your head instead of accepting it and going with the flow.
Third see if mom/dad can make you an appointment with an Dermatologist yes they deal with hair also.
deathwillcome answered Tuesday March 31 2009, 2:04 pm: What color hair do you have? If it's blonde, it could look grey, and if brunette, It could be stress. When parents say that stress causes it, it's true. To get rid of them you will just have to dye them or pull them out. The earlier may be a bit less unpleasant. Good luck. Hope that helped, at least, a little. [ deathwillcome's advice column | Ask deathwillcome A Question ]
justwanttohelp85 answered Tuesday March 31 2009, 9:43 am: Gray hair can be genetic so maybe you have a relitive other than your mom who started having gray hair earily. Also it is caused by stress so if you are under any kind of pressure, gray hair maybe a result of that. You could talk to your salon stylest and see if she recomends anything to stop it or cover it up. [ justwanttohelp85's advice column | Ask justwanttohelp85 A Question ]
