Okay. My boyfriend and I have been going out for a few weeks now. Up until now, he's only met my parents but this Saturday I'm going to a cook-out party with his family. I really want to make a good impression. He is my first boyfriend so I have no experience in this. Besides being polite do you have any advice on how to impress his parents?

Be yourself, don't try to impress.
Be polite and respectful. You'll
do fine. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
Kittzen answered Friday July 4 2008, 12:10 am: Hey Kittzen here,
Parents are really easy. just talk to your Bf and let him tell you about them. than when you meet them just talk about their intrest and let them ask you questions about your self. don't fall for the you can tell they don't like you thing, just be yourself have fin and enjoy every minute of their time.
Parents always believe that no child is good for their baby, go to that dinner believeing that. than when you get the feel that their only going to like you on their terms you'll be alright. have fun and eat a nice amount of his mom's cooking and coment it it even if it's no good.

SHAYstaysfly answered Thursday July 3 2008, 8:43 pm: be polite. try to be talkative & make conversation. don't give your opinion on anything unless you're asked. don't talk down on anyone. don't say anything that they might take offense to. dress somewhat conservatively. don't act fake. don't compliment too much. that's all i can think of. good luck!
