I just asked my hair dresser (whose sitting right here!) She said it does effect you to color your hair while your menstruating, and/or pregnant.. this is because the hormones in your body at those times are much higher than your normal non-menstruating/pregnant body is.. & having all those hormones raging.. effects how the color appears when done.
Example- If you have dark brown hair & are adding blonde highlights.. Your hair may end up with almost lime green highlights, and/or the color can fade much faster than if you weren't menstruating/pregnant when you began. Hope this answers your questions. If u don't believe me, ask your hairdresser.

No it won't. Or my hair would be screwed up now.

No you can't dye over dye. It just creates a layered mess of colors. You need to go to a salon and get your hair lightened. They will bleach it for you. I strongly suggest you get it done at a salon instead of at home. I've always been interested in hair and I was willing to experiment. If you do it by yourself and have no knowledge of the chemicals you are using, your hair will break or be fried. I had to cut my hair short.

Don't ever dye your hair black. It's bad news seriously. Because it will take a while to fade and you can't dye any color over it. If your natural color is a brown, you should use a colour stripper called "Color Opps" I'm sure it's in like Walgreens or Walmart. It has no damaging chemicals in it. So it's almost like a bleach, without killing your hair. I dyed my hair black too and it took most of it out. You should get two boxes if you are willing. One box on one try and the second box if the first didn't completely get rid of the black. Bad side of it, it smells like rotten eggs. If you wash your hair with shampoo, the smell would get it out in a day or two. But it's so much easier to use than bleaching.

So you can go to a salon and they will most likely do a great job, but it would be expensive.

Or attempt to do it yourself in a less damaging way for about $25

your period wont affect hair color.

as well as the going from black to brown/blonde...you have to bleach. straight up. i am in beauty school right now and i just did something similar. go to a salon for that kind of thing. it will be expensive and i can't guarantee your hair will be in good shape afterwords. good luck. any other hair questions let me know

No, it wont do a damn thing to your period or your hair.

No, ash brown will not do the trick. If your hair is black you'd be best have a professional dye it a lighter colour.

hello darling,
i dont think anything will happen. your mother just might not want you to dye your hair and if you are worried then, wait until your period stops and then do it. but i wouldnt worry about it.
