Celebrity Diet Woes

Question Posted Saturday August 4 2007, 8:07 pm

I read an article in US Weekly about Hilary Duff's dieting techniques. A few years ago she did carry more weight as some of you might remember... but I never considered her "fat." But apparently others did and she did herself.

I weigh 130 pounds and am 5'1, while she was 130 pounds and 5'2 back then. It immediately made me sad... because lately I've been worrying if I am "fat" or "chubby." When I look in the mirror I see someone who certainly isn't rail thin, but not OBESE either. I honestly am not sure.

What are you guys' opinions? If you remember the "older" Hilary Duff during the Lizzie McGuire era, would you consider her fat? Please don't base your judgements on whether or not you are a fan of her, I just want to know what you think of her past appearance.

She carried her body weight well. I never considered her fat, but now she is really skinny, and I liked her figure before better.

You are nowhere near fat, so do not worry:]

I never considered her fat. I considered her healthy. And then she got scary skinny, and now I personally think she could gain a few pounds, but that's just me.
Us Weekly is garbage. It makes everyone feel bad about themselves because we don't look like skeletons.
Don't listen to them, you're beautiful the way you are =]

ps. I didn't answer based on my opinion of Hilary Duff herself, I answered on my opinion of body images and how Hollywood is gonig way overboard with them.

hey,
i never, ever considered her fat! and you shouldn't look at yourself like that, either. you are a healthy, normal weight, and should be happy at that spot.
the only reason she's dieting is as everyone else said, celebrities these days seem to be VERY concerned about their weight, and if they're not literally anorexicly thin, they'll be criticized and called fat.
do not ever base your own goals by a celebritie's body, it will not work, and is unrealistic. they can lose weight so easily because they have the money for personal trainers/procedures/ect.

you're perfect the way you are!

okkk
i never considered hillary to be fat, or chunky.. i just considered her to be her! haha but celebs these days think that waying over 100 pounds is fat.. so thats why they all are like shredding off the pounds.. As for you, you shouldnt ever base your weight on the celebs! like what i said earlier, most of them would rather kill themselves, than be over 100 lbs... i dont mean that in a mean way.. if you would like to cut off a few pounds, try exercising... most of us during summer add a few pounds by loading on the junk food and sitting around watching t.v. lol but your beautiful just the way you are!!

hope this is amongst the lines of what you were looking for!! =]

In my opinion she was NEVER fat and your not either! Its called being healthy, not anorexic which i think she's becoming. Celebs in hollywood cant seem to weigh 100 pounds without being called "fat" girl dont compare yourself to her or any celeb your just the right weight! =]

well i am 5'4 and i am 130 & i think i'm fat. other people say i'm the right weight. but i don't think i am. i think she was the right weight though, but in the world of hollywood you have to be skinny.. it's just one of those things.

I never considered her fat, ever, nor would I consider YOU anywhere near being fat. If you stop comparing yourself to celebrities & their photoshopped, airbrushed pictures, you'll be a lot happier with yourself and have more self-confidence.
