hairdressers

Question Posted Thursday July 26 2007, 7:12 pm

Why do hairdressers NEVER listen?
Every time I tell them not to cut my bangs or something. they go ahead and do it.

i thought it was their job to LISTEN.

Well they cut your dead ends off everytime , so they dont look ragged, thats people why she cut your bangs.

Some times they cut it shorter then you say because they no how fast your hair grows,
and in a week it will be the length you wanted it to be. ( :

hair dressers are really creative.

so, whenever you go to the hair dresser & ask for a specific cut they just tend to go over the top. when i go to my hair dresser i tell her that i'm a blank canvas & she can do whatever she wants. & she gets SO excited.

they just want what THEY think is best.

they don't do it intentionally because they know it's not exactly what you wanted.

go to a different hair dresser next time. :]

Ah I know. I look like a dutch boy now because of my hair dresser. They think they know what is best for us, and know better than us. Some do listen, but others don't at all, and do their own thing.

ugh I feel your pain!! they messed up like 3 times on my hair. I wanted the razored layers back when I had longer hair and the lady cuts layers on the top half of my hair and leaves the bottom as it is. I wanted razored layers on my short hair, of course it was messed up. when I got my hair cut just a little above shoulders, they cut it an inch too short.

they do what they think looks good.

hello, thats not what we're paying for here!

I've noticed this and it ticks me off too.
Last time I went for a haircut, I brought a picture and literally told her 4 times exactly how I wanted my hair. She did it how I told her, so try that next time =]
But I think the reason they do it, is because they think they know what will look good on you, regardless fo your personal preferences.
And it IS their job to not only listen, but to make you look good.
And if they look like they're going to cut your bangs, stop them. Let them know you don't want them cut. It's your hair!
Hope it helps!

You should probably take this up with the hairdresser. I've never had a problem with mine.

She gets mad at me because I always tell her to do whatever she thinks would look cute, but to change it up.
