theymos answered Thursday July 26 2007, 11:55 pm: No, it's not. Hot topic is a publicly traded company, owned only by its shareholders. Hot Topic stock is held primarily by Fidelity Management & Research, so if anyone "owns" Hot Topic, it's them. Fidelity Management & Research also holds quite a few shares in Abercrombie and Fitch(and other clothing stores), but it isn't the main shareholder there. Abercrombie is expensive because they can be. No matter what, the teens will buy the clothes because they are "cute", and they want to be popular. [ ASAPcamille's advice column | Ask ASAPcamille A Question ]
