orphans answered Sunday July 22 2007, 11:50 am: She's 5'10 and 161 lbs.
I wouldn't say thats fat at all, completely healthy, and she's curvyy
I watch the Tyra show all the time, and she always has shows on weight poblems to help younger girls who struggle with their weight images.
These pics: (the outers) [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
caused a lot of hype about her being heavy, even though it was just because of the angle it was taken.
In real life she IS skinny, but skinny people can look fat at a bad angle. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
leLovely answered Sunday July 22 2007, 2:13 am: Tyra Banks isn't even fat. The average weight in our society is basically OBESE in Hollywood. Since she isn't a model anymore, she isn't worrying as much about what she eats and isn't so strict on her diets. In those pictures that were in all of the gossip magazines, it's easy to take a bad picture of somebody and make them look bigger than they are, and they can also edit pictures to make her look bigger than she really is. Tyra Banks isn't fat, and I don't even understand why it matters anyways. [ leLovely's advice column | Ask leLovely A Question ]
Genrawks2 answered Saturday July 21 2007, 11:27 pm: Uhh, I read the "TYRA BANKS:GAIN 20 POUNDS?" shit around late April/early May. In America's Next Top Model, she commented a lot on how the contestents have to watch what they eat, but since Tyra's actual modeling career is over, she can eat whatever she wants now. She's already through with that industry/business.. And the media still expect her to be a stick-thin Victoria's Secret Angel or whateverthehell they're called. F that>_> Anyways, during the summer, there were new pictures released of her losing pounds too. So maybe, you're just thinking back a little too far..
Either way, Tyra's freaking gorgeous no matter what! I'm totally jealous, I wonder why she's not married yet! But she's an independent woman, which I admire :] And a fantastic role model, I love her!
mariahneu answered Saturday July 21 2007, 10:57 pm: Tyra Banks is not fat, by no means. The media has everyone convinced that being normal is being overweight. Tyra Banks is a normal weight for her height, and the media portrays that as being fat. She is an inspiration for everyone so that girls young and old don't give in to the media's portrayal that thin is in. She looks skinnier on TV because they do have the ability to edit the celebs bodies, so that they can take away anything that looks bad...
Courtney answered Saturday July 21 2007, 10:29 pm: You have to think when the rumors of her being "fat" became published, which was roughly around late April and the beginning of may. Or at least, that's when the media got into a frenzy over it all. Tyra herself has commented that she's had people who she thought were her friends and loved ones, commenting on her weight and the rumors of the press. And these comments from those who were supposed to be sentimental to her? Nevertheless, you have to consider the time frame which those pictures and rumors were released and the timeline of the episodes that you're watching, because the timeline of the picture release date and the timeline for the episodes that you're watching, may be totally different, not making her seem slightly overweight, which she was. I really could care less because she's still beautiful as hell and well, it's time that the whole world come to accept the fact that no woman really has a perfect body, no matter what others may think. So, hope I was some help and bye. [ Courtney's advice column | Ask Courtney A Question ]
