I want to be the type of girl that shops for designer stuff like Coach, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Channel, etc. I want to be able to do stuff like that but my parents aren't rich and im definitely not a spoiled brat. How can i do that... like i'm only 15 ill be 16 in feb. what kind of jobs can i get to be able to afford that?
You sound like a nice girl, you could possibly even have a soul, which is really rare in girls who shop/wish to shop for designer stuff.
You say you're not a spoiled brat, and i can see that by the fact you're willing to work for the designer stuff. You don't need deisnger bags, clothes, sunglasses, shoes, etc...
They are a waste of money. You really don't need to show off what kind of designer stuff you have to other girls. If you're gonna get a job, save up for something real, like a car.
But if you really want to, I recommend you find a job wherever. It doesn't really matter where because you're a teen and you're gonna get paid minimum wage, regardless of where you work. If you work half time for this entire summer, you could probably get 2 or 3 coach bags towards the end of august. [ TheWallflower's advice column | Ask TheWallflower A Question ]

my only advice i can give you is get a small job an finish school to get a better paying job
LadyH answered Sunday July 1 2007, 1:53 pm: You're only 15 & in school, so your options are limited as far as jobs. Until you turn 16, you can try grocery store, food places, small shops. But even when you turn 16, your options of a good paying job are still pretty slim. That doesn't mean you can't save. It'll just take a couple-few weeks before you save for ONE purse. In my opinion, I would be embarassed to be wearing the same LV or Coach purse everyone has. I'd rather save money & buy something cute that NO ONE has. But that's just me. I think everyone goes through this materialistic stage where everyone has to feel like they are rich to impress others. But hopefully, you'll grow out of soon enough to save yourself from spending hundreds of hardworking money on pointless items. Why not work hard & save money towards something like your education or a really nice car? I hate to say this, but everything is getting more & more expensive. I'm sure your education is more important than how you look. [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]

Since you're 15, you can get a work places and possibly be hired at some places. McDonalds hires underage but I'm sure you don't want to work there. Right now I work at Walgreens making about 200 bucks a week, and they hire people under 18. If you saved up you'd be able to afford some designer stuff. Make sure you don't buy anything too trendy, it's no good spending several hundred dollars on a bag only to have it go out of style in a few weeks. If you really want to buy something expensive, buy a Coach bag that's classic looking- white, cream, tan, beige, brown, or black- it'll last forever, goes with everything, and is well-made. But buying expensive things is kind of addicting, and it gets to the point where nothing is good enough. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]
CHECKERED-LOVE answered Sunday July 1 2007, 8:21 am: i used to be that kind of girl. i had all the latest designer things, but i learned that when you get caught up in all of that its hard to stop. you spend all of your money while fashion is constantly changing. If you REALLLYYYY and i mean REALLY have to have all of that designer stuff, you could get a job at like a grocery store or a store like abercrombie or hollister and places like that. they arent really great paying jobs but if you save up, you can afford it.
also marshalls has designer bags and clothing and shoes for way cheaper and i dont know if its real but they sure look it. i got dolce and gabbana sunglasses and a coach purse for a total of 150 dollars which is a wicked good deal.
christina answered Sunday July 1 2007, 4:59 am: I agree with the previous answer. Designer things are nice, but they're not worth the money you pay. For about 15 bucks, you can have a big purse that's just as cute. Honestly, you're only paying for the name of the designer, not the bag.
The only things you can do right now are babysitting. Babysit some kids, & save your money. So until you're 16, babysit. Then when you turn 16 get a real job & get money that way. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
ifonlytheskywasgreen answered Sunday July 1 2007, 3:20 am: To tell you the truth, that stuff is really not worth the money you pay for it. And soon enough, the trend will die and some new trend will come around. But if you really want to spend your money on it- get a job. At your age, you probably wont find many high paying jobs- but you can make a decent amount to be able to afford some of that. Check around at stores around where you live and try applying there.
Also, ask your parents or friends if they know anyone who is hiring.
