CheRrYToP_x3 answered Tuesday June 26 2007, 12:00 am: I used to have this same problem and i would always have to go sleep with my LITTLE SISTER becuase i was so freakin scared i thought my room was haunted or possessed. I even talked to my preist and he said to say bible verses over and over while you are trying to go to sleep and its very comferting. You are either being paranoid, or maybe there is something going on in your room. Try praying before you go to bed, fall asleep watching a good comedy show.. or get a small dog or cat to keep you comferted! i have a cat and she is always on my bed sleeping beside me which is so comferting! maybe if it gets really bad you could see a therapist because you might have this paranoid disorder. i hope to help :) [ CheRrYToP_x3's advice column | Ask CheRrYToP_x3 A Question ]
Caileyxxxkill answered Monday June 25 2007, 10:49 pm: sleep with your television on, if you have one. But make sure to turn the channel on to the disney channel, or something like that where there isnt going to be any scary movie commercials. if you have a closet, then maybe you could turn that light in there on. Reading also helps. If you read untill your tired then youll fall rite to sleep. Benedrill also helps you fall asleep very quickly
LadyH answered Monday June 25 2007, 10:23 pm: I live alone, so sometimes when it's really quiet at night I start hearing odd noises myself. That only leaves my imagination to go crazy - when in the end, I only end up scaring myself over nothing. I've found that having background noise helps a lot - whether it's a cd the radio or the TV. :) [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]
colombiana122993 answered Monday June 25 2007, 8:44 pm: Its ok.......I used to be like that too.
I would recommend to stop watching really scary movies, that's probably what causes your fears. Believe me, i used to be like that too and I still fear a little bit, but since ive stopped watching really scary movies, I've realaxed. If you think you can take the movies then go ahead and watch them but if they really scare you right away when you start watching it....then STOP!
Also, if you believe in religion like God (like me) I would recommend you to pray because when God is with you, you are truly protected.
grayrainbow answered Monday June 25 2007, 8:29 pm: omg i have the same exact probel (13 too)
exept for me, i have a ouija board and me and my freind had a scary experince and i swear theres like a spirt still in my house, like i even have pictures with orbs in it =/
but i cant sleep at night at all even some nights i have to sleep with a light on.
heres my tips
-read a book that will really get you intrested
-get a lavalamp stareing at those makes you tired and daydreamy
-turn on the history channel that always makes me want to fallasleep.
-praying helps, when i ask god to calm my nerves, it works.
ok this is the best one i can think of =]
my little cousin has this toy thing, thats a spy lasor. and you set them up and when someone walks past it, it tellyou though a remote. its like a toy thats supost to be for spying. (you can find them at toy r us or somehting)
and set one up in your door way and hall mabie?
then you can see whos going by.
for this idea it wont work if you have cats or dogs that can set them off.
Teenagerr answered Monday June 25 2007, 8:20 pm: I used to be somewhat like that. I would think someone was going to come through my window or something. What helped me was to leave my blinds open so that I could see what was going on outside my window at all times and wouldn't have to worry about it. I also would keep my door open so that if I ever had to call out for help, someone would come help me.
Another thing to remember, if there's some member of your family still downstairs at the time, or if your room isn't closest to the stairs/outside door, is that the person who's coming to hurt you would HAVE TO go through that person first, and you'd hear that if it happened. That would be your warning.
Thinking of those always helped me feel better. :] Just don't worry about it, noones broken into my house and it doesn't usually happen to people. [ Teenagerr's advice column | Ask Teenagerr A Question ]
whatsherface answered Monday June 25 2007, 7:55 pm: yeah. my little sister has this problem. & she's 11. um, try sleeping with a stuffed animal. when i stopped sleeping in the same room as her, she started sleeping with a stuffed dog & it helps her get through the night. also, just remember that there's really nothing in your bedroom that could harm you. the noises & cracks are the old floors & the wind, etc. think happy thoughts. sing. just whatever will help. & keep your eyes closed :] [ whatsherface's advice column | Ask whatsherface A Question ]
