Is there any good way to deal with feelings of embarassment? When something embarassing happens to me, everytime I think about it even weeks after it happens it just kills me. I feel terrible about myself.

It's like an obsessive thing with me since I always think about how I could have changed what I did/said. Like someone said try thinking about what happened from another person's point of view. I usually realize after I get so embarassed that my cheeks turn crimson, that no one really cares honestly. There might be a view jokes here and there, but eventually it stops. Try thinking of it that way, that it doesn't really pay to be embarassed since it will probably go unnoticed.
christina answered Monday June 25 2007, 6:43 pm: Accept it. Embarassment is always going to happen to you. But if you learn to accept the fact that it happens to everybody & that it's always going to happen no matter what, you'll see it in a new way. When I get embarassed, I usually just laugh it off like a joke of some sort. That way it doesn't bother me too much & I can move on with life.
Also, it helps to be comfortable with yourself. If you're comfortable with who you are then embarassing things shouldn't be made into such a huge deal. Learn to laugh at yourself & things won't seem so bad. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

Like if I said something stupid, I'd still think about it a week after.
Anyways, what I do is look at it from another person's point of view. For example, when someone else does something embarrasing, you forget about a couple seconds after, right? Same thing with other people and your embarrasing moment! They'll forget about it as soon as you change the subject.

If you really think about it, it's never as big of a deal as it seems.
It's in the past, you can't change it, move on and learn from it! [ lilbit's advice column | Ask lilbit A Question ]
Volleyball2150 answered Monday June 25 2007, 6:35 pm: ha ha... EVERYBODY does something embarrassing once in a while. Instead of looking at it in a bad way, think about it as a joke. LAUGH about it. Even if you are embarressed on the inside, don't let it get to you on the outside. Just laugh it off.
Nobody is perfect... we all make mistakes and embaress ourselves. The best way is to laugh about it.
