Question Posted Thursday June 21 2007, 2:59 pm

what's a good shampoo/conditioner hair product?

I've heard these work good-

Herbal essences
dove
sunsilk
fructis
suave

My friend said that pantene actually makes your hair worse and fall out!!!

if you can, please rate how well each hair product i've mentioned is. thanks

Haha, I will take no offense to your friend's comment even though I have a lifetime supply of pantene pro-v smooth & sleek shampoo and conditioner, along with some of the styling products from that line.

And for the products you mentioned, I have not tried them all, and because many of them have different lines, it's hard to generalize how they rank overall. Best to worst:
1- fructis (up there with pantene)
2- sunsilk
3- herbal essences (which, in my experience, do not do anything for your hair but clean it and make it smell really nice)
4- dove/suave

Pantene IS bad for your hair. Its very drying and doesnt make your hair healthy.

Herbal Essences- 6/10
Dove-3/10 (I personally didnt like it.)
Sunsilk-never tried
Frutis- 8/10
Suave-5/10

I LOVE Loreal shampoos/conditioners. They have one for each type of hair!

Pantene is my savior. I love that shampoo to DEATH. It got rid of 50% of the frizz in my hair.

Herbal Essences-7/10
Dove-I haven't used it.
Sunsilk-Haven't used it.
Fructis-6/10 only used it once so that's not a very accurate rating.'
Suave-7/10
Pantene-15/10

Pantene doesn't make your hair worse or fall out, but my hair dresser said its very waxy. I'm not sure what that means, but she told me I should switch to something else.

I've used Herbal Essences, Dove, and the Fructis, and I think they all work pretty much the same, decently. In my opionion, Herbal Essences smells the best. I hate Suave, its very cheap, but doesn't do much for my hair, and it kind of dries it out.

Paul Mitchell shampoo is pretty good, but kind of pricey.

ha, its funny because I love Sauve. I use the Ocean Breeze one, it makes my hair smell so good, and shinny, and really soft. I find it funny because I used to use the best shampoos and conditioners made, the ones at the salon for around $20 a bottle, and I like this better.

I've tried Dove and suave from that group
i do NOT recomment suave, it made my hair REALLY RELALY FRIZZY

Dove worked wonders..my hair was less frizzy even after the first time mi used it.

Another good one is Tresseme...also keeps the frizzies away!!!

Herbal Essences- only okay. Makes your hair smells good but doesn't do much else.

Dove- not very good, cheap.

Sunsilk- haven't tried it but have heard good things about it.

Garnier Fructis- I like it, but it's not good for oily hair. Their Long and Strong line works really well.

Suave- not good, about as cheap as you can get. Dries out hair a lot.

I love the shampoos and conditioners Bath and Body Works sells. They're cheap (especially since the summer sale is happening right now) and come in all kinds of yummy scents. I love Mango Mandarin and Grapefruit.

I think, out of all of these, sunsilk is the best. It makes your hair soft and shiny.. and it comes at a decent price.
The rest of them are pretty good too..
The least best choice out of these in my opinion is suave.. it's cheap and doesn't do much to your hair.

:] hope that's useful..
