soo i am in basically the same exact situation as you are. just start out the conversation on myspace with something like heyy havent talked to you in a while what have you been up to. (i know it sounds reallly corny but it can break the ice) then after or if you have a pretty good conversation just say something like heyy we should chill sometime call me. heres my number and just give him your number. you can hang out in a big group or just the two, i would say if you want to become friends hang out with a big group and go to the movies or even mini golfing =]

Start out nice and simple like, "Hey, what's up? Not much here." Then just start asking some questions for him to answer and tell him bits and pieces of things that are happening with you. If you want you could scaduale a hang out date with him. But as for messaging him, just start out simple, don't talk too much about youself.

You should introduce yourself, and tell him that he seems like a pretty cool guy. You don't have to mention about adding him as a friend. If he likes your message, he'll add you on his own but you should try to work a conversation with him if you're really into him. But most importantly, be nice and just act cool about it. :] Like "Hey.. I've seen your MySpace and you go to my school. You seem pretty cool! We should talk sometime, k?"
Or if he's all ready your MySpace friend, comment him! What better way to talk is by comment, and if you both have AIM, ask for his screen name :) Haha. I hope my advice helps :] Have a fun summer! And you take care <3
