uhm am i depressed? i dont know if im depressed but i saw this ( one advicenator put this in her/his answer stating it was 6 major signs of depression)
1-sudden change in eating habits
2-sudden change in weight
3-lack of motivation
4-dont care about self image
5-doesnt care about self anymore
6-doesnt care about others anymore
the problem is that i did gain weight a little, theres lack of motivation in my life but im not gonna comit sucide or anything, i dont care about my self image or the way i dress to school cause i believe im me and i dont need anyone else opinion on things
i have 5 out of 6 of those, am i depressed?

ok i think that something happened that made you sad and when you got sad you ate alot and then when you gained weight you got in this mood where you just dont give a fuck anymore to the poin that you probably dont even feel sad about it anymore.You are not depressed im positive,you lost motivation when youi gained weight thats all.You gotta lose weight again cuz seein that sexy gurl you were will make your spirits high again! ]
You're probably not depressed, all those things could be linked to something else. If you were depressed you wouldn't care about yourself image because you just don't care about the world or anything anymore rather than what other people think of you.
Other symptoms of depression are:
-exhaustion
-anxiety
-scared to be left alone
-no confidence
-loss of hope in life
-physical aches/pains with no direct cause
-difficulty sleeping/waking up
So it is unlikely that you have depression.
If you feel upset, then it could just be hormones or the time of year.
Try doing some exercise, that should boost your mood. Or hanging out with friends, they'll make you laugh.
Find something that you enjoy doing.
Make plenty of "me" time for yourself and surround yourself with the people you love.

nah. you sound fine to me. i was depressed for two years, and the way you describe your symptoms doesn't seem like you're depressed. ]

Don't worry about it too much. If you constantly worry if you have depression, you'll get depressed. I'm sure other columnists will tell you what to do if you think you have depression better than I would, so I'll just leave it at that. ]
