How much water are you suppost to drink everyday?
And how is drinking the right ammount good? Does it help your health?
I also read this somewhere
"drinking cranberry juice also helps the kidneys to flush any toxins which can lead to urinary tract infections"
Is that true? Cranberry juice is good for you?
And I also read that if urine is strong smelling and brightly colored you aren't getting enough water. If I drink more water does urine not smell as bad and will it be clear?
yup, everything you said is
true! 8 glasses is what doctors
recommend, but you'll be just
fine without drinking 8 glasses.
cranberry juice is also very
healthy. it DOES clense out your
body, and the best kind to buy
is the sugar-free. if your
urine is bright yellow..
then you need more water. if
it's pale, then that means
you're getting enough water.
so the best way to go is avoid
sodas ALL the time, but once
in a while is fine, and drink
plenty of water and some cranberry
juice. ♥ [ mariaa123's advice column | Ask mariaa123 A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Sunday May 27 2007, 12:14 pm: every adult is supposed to drink 64 ounces, or 8 cups. but i've also heard that if you want to be more accurate, take your body weight in pounds, divide it by two, and that's the number of ounces you need to drink. so then you can divide that by eight to get the number of cups. for me, i weigh 120, so i should be drinking 60 ounces a day, which is just shy of 8 cups. drinking the right amount is good because it keeps you going. it gives you energy, and it's good especially if you're working out or losing lots of water as sweat if you hang out outside a lot. it does help your health. i believe the cranberry thing is true, but i've never tried it because i hate cranberries. it sure couldn't hurt, right? if you drink the recommended amount of water per day, or even more than that, your urine will be a little bit lighter, but probably not completely clear per se. it won't smell bad either. however, you will have to urinate a lot more if you drink a whole lot of water. you can tell if you're nearing dehydration if your urine is really brightly colored. basically, the water dilutes the urine and turns it a lighter color when you drink enough water. twistedsister17 answered Sunday May 27 2007, 11:20 am: 64 ounces like everyone else said. But you can drink more if you want to. Basically the more water you drink, the more it helps your body. But always make sure to go to the bathroom when you have to go. Never wait off too long on doing it.
Water helps you by ridding your body of toxins. It helps get germs and other bad things out of you. If you're not sick, it can prevent you from getting sick. Our bodies are mostly made up of water, but as you know, we get rid of that water (pee) every day. So we have to replace that water in our bodies by drinking more. Water helps regulate everything in your body. It also helps to dissolve and break down nutrients. Your body needs water in order to have energy. It breaks down essential vitamins and minerals and then transports them to wherever they are needed.
Cranberry juice is good for you, but the best drink you can have is pure water.
That's true. Urine is more lightly colored if you are drinking enough water. If it is very dark, you are probably dehydrated. For the last few days, I have been sick, so I've been drinking A LOT of water. When I go to the bathroom, it comes out completely clear. And that's good. wow yeah everything you said is true.
you are supposed to drink 64 oz (8 glasses) of water a day. by drinking the right amount, you cleanse your insides and make it easier for more stuff to go in. it's like your body is a drain - if you keep pushing bad things into it, it's gonna stop working or take longer to work. but, if you put drain cleaner (water) in your body a few times a day, it will clean out the drains and work better and do it's job faster (aka metabolism). yes, water helps your health because it cleanses your body and you simply need lots of water.
yes, that is true. cranberry juice is good for you and so is grapefruit juice. they both flush out bad things and have less sugar than other fruits - so it's good for you without making you fat. orange juice is good during the winter cause it helps your immune system stay strong and helps you avoid catching a cold.
yes. if you drink 64 ounces of water a day, your urine will be very close to clear. and yes, it won't smell bad. water will take out the bad stuff. so look at it this way -
monday - soda soda soda
- urine: deep yellow, smelly
tuesday - water 64 oz NOTHING else
- urine: lighter yellow, sorta smelly (cleaning out the remains of the soda).
tuesday - water 64 oz maybe some other juices
- urine: almost clear, nearly no smell
