Oily Skin

Question Posted Saturday April 14 2007, 1:57 pm

I have very oily skin. It's so bad that I go to the bathroom everyday in school and while I used the restroom I use the toilet paper to *try* to get some of the oil off of my face by dabbing at my oily places. It's embarassing to have oily skin.
So I was wondering if anyone has any tips, home treatments, or product recomendations for me?
Thanks.

if you genetically have very oily skin then little will make much a difference. Rejoice because while your peers get old and wrinkly you will likely retain a youthful glow. Without knowing how old you are it is somewhat difficult to assist. However if you are under 20 DO NOT WEAR ANY TYPE OF MAKEUP I know you want to fit it etc. and I know you think I don't understand but unless you want to do permanent damage to you skin simply wash it your face twice a day with neutrogena acne wash and warm water. other than that leave your skin alone TRUST ME YOU'LL thanks me on your wedding day. If your over 20 head to the doctor and request 2% clyndamycin topical gel this should cut the oil and help inhibit it's production then you a good makeup try Estee Lauder DO NOT USE CHEAP MAKEUP IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE and try to avoid foundation.

I agree with both of the previous ones.

Use oil-free based makeup, and powder is GREAT for covering all the oily bits. Neutrogena is also a big help. I will use it =).

I had oily skin (VERY oily) till a couple of weeks ago. After I got sunburnt cause i stayed in the pool for 4 hours (dont try this at home...), my skin got so dry and started to peel. It's not oily anymore. I'm not sure if this is good advice but ... try tanning and NOT getting sunburnt. I had high hopes of getting a Thai tan ( i was in Thailand back then) but ended up looking like a roasted chicken...

So ye. Maybe the sun would help. But sun is like sex: don't forget protection! (sunblock cream in this case...)

Good luck!

I completely understand what you're going through. And I know exactly what to need to do. It's called, "Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets" they cost five dollars, and you can find them, in CVS, Walgreens, Wal-mart, Target. Yeah, all those kinds of stores. It'll take off any oil on your face without disrupting your make-up. You should wash your face with regular soap and then use Oil-Free moisturizer afterwards, and then after you apply your make-up, use an absorbing sheet and your skin will look amazing, I swear it. :]

I have oily skin, too, and I have learned to just deal with it. The best way you can somewhat conceal it is by carying a compact of powder. if you have acne, wear lots of foundation, and apply powder over it whenever necessary.
hope i helped!

sorry, I'm just saying that that will deffinatly help cover it up, and no, it wont make you look paint - brushed (if u kno how to put it on right). I buy high - quality foundation, and wash my face 3 times a day and weekends, 2 times on weekdays with CLEARISIL ULTRA: CLEARER SKIN IN 3 DAYS. It helps so much (even if i do where make - up) my skin clears up so fast, it's unbelievable.
