i dont understand what "ballin" means. people say it randomly. i know it comes from a song but wtf? people are not playing basketball or rich, are they just saying it for fun?

uh i am guilty of saying it randomly too.
i just say it for fun...and i have no idea why. i also do the stupid hand motion like you're throwing a basketball. it's a catchy song, so i'm guessing thats why they say it, but it usually means you are good at basketball. i went to a basketball game and this guy made a really nice shot and people shouted BAWLIN!

a lot of people say it because they think it means basketball, so if they are playing basketball that may be the case
it also means like pimpin' so if they say it randomly they mean that they are cool,fly,pimpin,ect.
if they say it for no reason what so ever, they are dumb and saying it just for the sake of saying it
