im 13, and boys my age are REALLY immature.. so i tend to like boys that are alottt older then me.
like, i like boys that are like 16-17.
is it bad if i dated boys that much older then me?

- can drive so he can take you places and stuff
- you can meet other older people from high school through him
- more experienced
- knows more about how to treat a girl
cons:
- your parents probably wont like it
- hes probably going to be considered "too old for you" by some people
- he might pressure you to do things with him
- it is easy for him to take advantage of you

-Since guys mature much slower than girls, you would be at about the same maturity level.
-He would have a car and a job most likely and therefore be able to take you someplace nice.
-He could introduce you to some people in high school so you could know more people when you attend high school.
Cons:
-Your parents will hate him.
-He will most likely be wanting a more intimate relationship and will pressure you for sex.
-His friends might thing you're too young and will be rude to you when you are with them.
-It would be easier for him to take advantage of you and use you.
I don't blame you for hating guys your age. It makes perfect sense. Just make sure that if you do date someone older, introduce him to your parents BEFORE you start going out, don't allow yourself to be put in a vulnerable situation, and trust your instincts of course.

Not bad at all. My boyfriend's 3 years older than i am. I always went for guys 3-4 years older. Absoulutly nothing wrong with it. I am going to disagree with the person below me. Not all 16 year old guys are looking for sex. Not many are that shallow. Some are really perverted but not all. Just make sure you pick the right guys. We dont want anyone getting hurt in any way.

theres nothing wrong with dating boys older than you but boys of the age 16/17 are at the age of having sex.14/15 i think is a good age as long as they know where they would be going with you. if you know what i mean?im 13 too and boys our age are really imature but with my experence boys at the age of 16 are looking for one thing SEX!

its not a bad thing since most girls do it anyways. The good part is that the guys are alot more mature but the bad part is that usually all they want is sex and sometimes the guy makes you feel like crap because if you dnt do what he wants then he might call you a baby. All i can say is be careful with what guys you go out with!!

its all on what guy you choose. pros could be that he is more mature and committed to a relationship. a con is the only thing he has on his mind is sex. its really not an age thing, its more of finding the right guy because age is just a number and some guys mature faster than others. i don't think it's bad to date someone 3-4 years older. my boyfriend is 3 years older than me, although my parents do not like it. hope i helped<3

Here's a little hint...ALL boys are immature, in general. There are very few guys under 21 (or even over 21) that don't act like complete idiots 99% of the time (and the other 1% is spent sleeping).
However, it is true that 16-17 year old boys are slightly more mature than 13 year olds...sometimes. I'm 17 so I'm around these guys all the time...sometimes I have trouble telling the difference between them and an 8th grader.
Anyways, a big con is that, like someone else said, a 17 year old is looking for sex mostly...and that's it. Just get their rocks off and move on. There's also the possibility that even if you're mature for your age, there could be nothing common with your interests to that of a junior or senior in high school.
Another con is that you'd barely see that person because of the grade difference on top of everything else you do with your time.
Lastly, when you're as young as you are, having a boyfriend isn't the most important thing. There's plenty of time for that later...trust me.

Although guys your age are really immature, they won't be that way forever, and not all of them are like that. All guys mature at different ages, and though older boys may seem more mature, some of them aren't exactly what you think.
Guys at 16-17 have only one thing on their minds, and that's sex. It's not exactly good to be dating guys like that simply because they have more experience, and it'd be easier for them to take advantage of you, & rape you. I'm not saying they'd do it, but it's a possibility.
I think it's a bad thing for someone your age to date a guy who is my age. I'm not a guy, but I know what the guys my age want. Just try not to date too much, and at the most, date a 15 year old. Anything older than that is too old, and could be a potentionally bad experience.

13 year olds really shouldn't be dating 17 year old guys. I say that because most 17 year old guys these days are probably have too much sexual experiance for 13 year old girls. He's going to want to do things you shouldn't be doing. That's the big issue and that's what your parents are gonna care about and what they're gonna see (only becuase it's true). Something else is you might not fit in too well with his friends (guys and girls). And more likly than not, the reason 17 year old guys date 13 year old girls is to get some. It's true
