I consider myself a Christian. I pray and whenever I do, I feel a sense of joy and I feel like I'm talking to the best person ever. But I always sin and I hate myself for it. Everyday, I judge people and I am vein and I get angry.
Whenever I do my hair or put on makeup, I feel like I'm being vein and I feel ugly in God's eyes. I also judge EVERYONE. Like, if I pass by an overweight person, I instantly think "That person is fat". This also makes me feel ugly to Him. I also gossip, lie..I do basically every sin except kill, steal, commit adultery, and worship idols. I repent though.
All of this sin that I do makes me feel like God won't accept me into Heaven when I die. I know that Jesus forgives us when we repent, but I sin so much that it seems like he would never let someone so sinful into his kingdom. When I ask to be forgiven, I always think "You've asked God to forgive you for doing that sin a million times. He won't give you another chance"
What do you suggest I do?

And suprisingly he love EACH AND EVERYONE OF US! we have all sinned. and in his eyes, all of it is equal really! The 10 commandments are just a mirror to show us that we need god, not to show you that you arent good anough. And i dont no if you relize it but god must be working in your heart for you to ATLEAST relize you are doing something wrong. All you need to do is pray for the strenght to change and become an even better christian. Its perfectly natrual to sin and ask for frogiveness sin and ask for frogiveness sin and ask for frogiveness and so on... Its human nature everyone does it! Just try to pray more and ask him to change your heart and your mind... and really work on it too.
Ive seen so many people changed through God... and he doesnt give up on us because he loves us.

Everyone is going to be judgemental and vein at some point in their life, and as long as you keep praying and commiting your life to Christ, then you shouldn't worry. The little sins do not make you a bad Christian. [ LiLsHaWtY08's advice column | Ask LiLsHaWtY08 A Question ]

xxboomxx answered Monday March 12 2007, 4:09 pm: I am a Roman Catholic and i believe that God loves everyone, Christians, Jews, and Athiasts. He loves everyone, and i agree it is really hard not to do the things like gossip and lie and small sins like that. I have to say that you do good by praying and having strong faith, if you repent and feel sorry for your sins and your truly sorry God always forgives you, you just have to try not to do those things. I think you shouldn't worry about getting into heaven, you are young and you have a lifetime to change your ways, however you do good by repenting i say don't worry because God will forgive you if your sorry. Also he loves everyone even murderers, he doesn't think your ugly if you wear makeup or make a mistake, he gave his only son so you could go to heaven, he loves you. Also if you feel really bad go to confession. [ xxboomxx's advice column | Ask xxboomxx A Question ]

You just really need to pray and read in his word and try not to judge people or think that...you know God made that person that way its like you are telling him he didnt do a good job of it...but God makes everything perfect...we are not perfect and we never will be!! But you just need to try harder and get serious about it. It also could be the friends that you hang out with they could be bringing you down..bc i know last yr. in high school i got mixed in with the wrong crowd and went crazy...but thankfully i got my life turned back around!! But i hope i helped! MUCH LOVE *HaLeY-eRiN* [ cuteclogger87's advice column | Ask cuteclogger87 A Question ]
haloguy answered Monday March 12 2007, 2:42 am: Don't waste your life worrying about god not letting you into his kingdom for thinking someone is fat when they are, in fact fat. Whether you're a Christian or not, every person's purpose is to bring something positive to the world we live in. If you feel bad because of getting angry, or putting on makeup, just think about something good you've done. If there is a god, and a heaven, you won't be denied entry into his kingdom because you liked putting on makeup if you were a good person. Instead of feeling bad about little things, try doing something nice for your community and feeling good about that. Be especially kind to someone you don't know that looks sad. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Whatever you want to do, as long as it's positive. And besides, whether you do these things or not, according to the Bible god forgives anyone for anything (yes even murder) as long as that person repents. Just because you're worried he won't forgive you doesn't mean god's policy will suddenly change. [ haloguy's advice column | Ask haloguy A Question ]
HectorJr answered Monday March 12 2007, 12:33 am: You will be forgiven. Those sins which you wrote about are not as severe as others such as killing or rape. Actually, what makes sin worse is if you do it with the intention of going against God. It does not seem like you tried to do that at all.
Jesus was kinda big on forgiveness. If you are truly sorry for what you do and ask for help not to do it again, then you will be forgiven. I would suggest, if it is available to you, to seek reconciliation through confession. Sorry if you don't believe in that or are not comfortable with it, but I'm throwing it out there because a lot of people have a skewed idea of what it really means and its purpose.
To help breaking habits, or even gossip and judge in your case, you could think it more often. If you wrote down on paper several times a day "I will not judge others or gossip and tell lies", or some variant of that, over time you will notice a change. It does take some effort from your own part, but if you incorporate that thinking into your subconscious level, it becomes easier to avoid doing those things. Of you are aware at that moment that you are doing these things, then force yourself to stop. Continue to pray, it really is a wonderful and powerful thing to do. Hope that helped and good luck. mylordwon answered Sunday March 11 2007, 11:39 pm: You're not alone. Just because you are a Christian (which means you are claiming to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ) doesn't make you perfect. It means you are redeemed by the the blood of Christ and Jesus' perfect sacrifice is what God sees when He looks at you. I suggest you read the following Bible verses. These verses will show you that even the Apostle Paul struggled.
Rom 7:15 In fact, I don't understand why I act the way I do. I don't do what I know is right. I do the things I hate.
Rom 7:16 Although I don't do what I know is right, I agree that the Law is good.
Rom 7:17 So I am not the one doing these evil things. The sin that lives in me is what does them.
Rom 7:18 I know that my selfish desires won't let me do anything that is good. Even when I want to do right, I cannot.
Rom 7:19 Instead of doing what I know is right, I do wrong.
Rom 7:20 And so, if I don't do what I know is right, I am no longer the one doing these evil things. The sin that lives in me is what does them.
Rom 7:21 The Law has shown me that something in me keeps me from doing what I know is right.
Rom 7:22 With my whole heart I agree with the Law of God.
Rom 7:23 But in every part of me I discover something fighting against my mind, and it makes me a prisoner of sin that controls everything I do.
Rom 7:24 What a miserable person I am. Who will rescue me from this body that is doomed to die?
Rom 7:25 Thank God! Jesus Christ will rescue me. So with my mind I serve the Law of God, although my selfish desires make me serve the law of sin.
Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Rom 8:2 The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus and will set you free from sin and death.
Rom 8:3 The Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak. But God set you free when he sent his own Son to be like us sinners and to be a sacrifice for our sin. God used Christ's body to condemn sin.
Rom 8:4 He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires.
Rom 8:5 People who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things.
Rom 8:6 If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace. [ mylordwon's advice column | Ask mylordwon A Question ]
DearAbby92 answered Sunday March 11 2007, 11:26 pm: I've learned that God ALWAYS forgives if you are truly sorry. And you dont have to be a saint to get into heaven. As long as you are really trying to be a good person, God and Jesus will see that. Put effort into bettering yourself. Become friends with Christians and use them as a support group. A little will go a long way, so just try not to gossip or judge others. And its not a sin to think that way about a person (like an overweight person) because you cant really change what pops into your head, but acting and treating them differently is. Just be the best person you can be, and try resist sin. Wearing a cross necklace helps remind me to be a good person, and is a constant reminder of God's presence in my life.
