I have two answers for you, a more logical one and a more spiritual one. Okay, so the logical answer -- Say Christianity doesn't exist at all. Just hypothetically speaking. So you've given your life to a God that doesn't exist... no harm done right? Most other major religions require a good life and good deeds in order to go to "heaven", so as long as you're not going around killing people, you're pretty much safe. I know a lot of Christians won't like this answer, but sometimes it's the kind of comfort people need. It's hard belonging to a faith in which you don't have all the answers and you won't until you die.
But on a more spiritual level-- ask God to calm your heart and prove to you that He exists. He won't ignore your prayers. Your question is exactly what makes faith difficult, and why so many people take the easy way out and become atheists or agnostics because they're too scared to trust their souls with something so big but so mysterious. So continue praying, reading your Bible, and trusting that God will give you the answers you need in His time. Good luck! :) [ opinionated06's advice column | Ask opinionated06 A Question ]
MW8305 answered Wednesday February 28 2007, 10:03 am: Dearest... Everyone has doubts. Especially about the great mysteries in life. And God is definitely a mystery. God is a mystery because no one can prove that he exists. However, no one can prove that he doesn't exist either.
It all boils down to what you believe. And you can believe whatever you want. Don't let other people try to tell you otherwise.
As for me... I don't support organized religion. But I do believe in a higher power. A higher power that created us, a higher power that loves us. I believe what I believe because I feel like I have my evidence. Because miracles happen every day. If you are only looking for the supernatural you won't see them... But every person that loves, every person that helps another, each day that we are given to live... Is a miracle.
Don't be afraid. Believe what you will... Because even if you are wrong (though I don't think you are) you'll never know the difference. Don't let the doubts of others cause your faith to sway. Because faith... Is a miracle. [ MW8305's advice column | Ask MW8305 A Question ]

orphans answered Monday February 26 2007, 10:56 pm: All of these doubts are from the devil, push them away! Believe what you have always believed, prove to yourself that when people talk about that stuff that it just gives you more faith. Being unsure is worse, just tell yourself that you KNOW God is there. I hope everything works out for you. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
mylordwon answered Monday February 26 2007, 9:55 pm: The mean old devil loves to throw seeds of doubt at us. It's a weapon he has used against people for centuries. The devil has no power over those who know God through God's Son Jesus. He likes to try and convince us he does, but he doesn't. The devil gets into our thoughts and tries to convince us he's something when in reality he's just a big coward. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have the power of the Holy Spirit in you. Now that's awesome power! The devil is like a flea to the Holy Spirit. That's how powerful the Holy Spirit is. And you have access to that power through your faith.
The bible says in 2Corinthians 10:5 "...take every thought captive to obey Christ,"
The doubts you have can be destroyed. Every time you have a doubt, say to yourself, " I take this thought captive and make it obedient to Christ." You may have to say it a thousand times, but fight the thoughts with the powerful Word of God and your faith will become strong. [ mylordwon's advice column | Ask mylordwon A Question ]

lalalovely17 answered Monday February 26 2007, 8:50 pm: Part of being a Christian is trusting in God and having FAITH in him. Nobody knows what is true except for God, and you just have to have faith in Him and believe what you read in the Bible. It's normal to have these thoughts I have them too but I think about everything that I've been taught at church and it's just that you have to listen to yourself and noone else. Xineph answered Monday February 26 2007, 8:32 pm: Here's the deal.
God is one of the greatest mysteries in the history of human existence. There has been so much debate as to whether he exists in the first place, and there are thousands of interpretations of him. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.
But the thing about the belief in God, is that it's COMFORTING. For many people, it brings peace and meaning, and that is something I don't think anyone would want taken away.
Whether or not someone believes in God, they need something that gives them that peace and meaning. And if God gives you this, then by all means, don't doubt it! That is one of God's primary purposes, and if he gives you this peace, then you can know he exists. God is real for YOU, that is all that matters.
igivegoodadvice answered Monday February 26 2007, 8:04 pm: I know what you mean. I found my ABSOLUTE faith a few weeks ago. The "popular" cheerleaders were all dissing God. And i told them to stop. They said why, are you some religious freak. I said, no i'm catholic. and they all started laughing. And i just stood up and said "jesus christ is my god and savior." i was surprised i said it. But now i no longer doubt my faith at all...
Someday it will come where you will have to defend your faith as well. That will be a defining moment in your life. From the looks of it, you are not only a true believer but a true catholic.
Good luck
somethingcorporaterox answered Monday February 26 2007, 8:03 pm: Believing in God isn't bad and I'm a strong Christian and I used to be confused on my beliefs as well. Everyone has their own opinions and you can respect them but you don't have to believe the same as they do. Just ignore them and believe what you always have and you'll be fine. Don't worry, it happens to everyone. [ somethingcorporaterox's advice column | Ask somethingcorporaterox A Question ]
