So I saw this magazine and it said
Mary Kate .. anorexic. 80 pounds.
So.. does that make me anorexic too or what?
Is 80 pounds anorexic?
I thought 70 pounds was anorexic.
I eat a lot. I weight around 80 pounds and I'm 5 feet tall. But if 80 pounds is an anorexic number or whatever, would I get the automatic label of anorexic from doctors?
ddr_sej01 answered Sunday December 31 2006, 4:44 pm: 80 pounds isn't anorexic it's just underweight. the doctors will ask you some questions like 'how many times do u eat a day?, do you snack?, do you exercise?' and a few more questions. And NO. you just need to answer the questions the doctors ask you truthfully. [ ddr_sej01's advice column | Ask ddr_sej01 A Question ]
wannabeinmahentourage answered Sunday December 31 2006, 3:16 pm: its different for everyone. mary-kate is fully grown, and 80 pounds isnt right for her body. it depends how old you are, how tall you are, what activities you do, etc... there is no specific number. your doctor wont necessarily tell you that you're anorexic because you weigh 70 pounds. hope this helps! opinionated06 answered Sunday December 31 2006, 3:15 pm: You don't have to be a certain weight to be considered anorexic. Some people are naturally thin or have health problems that make them underweight. Anorexia is simply depriving yourself of food in order to lose weight.
If you eat normal amounts of healthy food (as opposed to eating celery every meal), you aren't anorexic. You may just have a super fast metabolism or small bones. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Your Body Mass Index can determine if you have a healthy body weight as well. They may need to put you on supplements or maybe you have a thyroid problem, but anyways, I wouldn't jump to any huge conclusions without talking to a doctor first. Good luck! :) [ opinionated06's advice column | Ask opinionated06 A Question ]
Confused_HearTx04 answered Sunday December 31 2006, 1:47 pm: you would not be considered anorexic. She is because she is tall and only weighs 80 lbs. You said you were only 5 feet and weigh 80 pounds and that is normal for your height. There is no number for being anorexic and its not that you dont eat because you said you do so there is nothing wrong with you. Well lets say Mary Kate was like what 5'6 and weighing 80 pounds thats abnormal. Do you see what im sayin??
lauralaura answered Sunday December 31 2006, 12:32 pm: Hi!
anorexia is not just about your weight. yes, people who suffer from it are usually very thin, but this doesn't mean everyone who is slim is anorexic.
anorexia is a psychological illness which causes you to want to be as thin as possible, so you do not eat much, if anything and lose weight rapidly, resulting in illness.
you are quite petite and therefore you are bound to be quite light. this does not make you anorexic and as long as you keep eating healthily, you aren't likely to become so.
orphans answered Sunday December 31 2006, 11:10 am: well if you eat your not anorexic
if you eat, which you said you do, its healthy as long as you arent throwing it up --> bulimic!
and its not by weight
its not like 70 pounds is anorexic and 80 isnt
its by how THIN you are AND your height...
so your obviously skinny, but your also short...
like nicole richie is 82 pounds or something, and she deffinantly has an eating disorder because she used to be healthy wiehgt and nows shes a flatchested skeleton
Flaggal answered Sunday December 31 2006, 10:44 am: if you eat a lot you cannot be concidered anorexic. if the doctor says you are, he/she will observe how you eat and if you eat how you say, there shouldn't be a problem
Jade09 answered Sunday December 31 2006, 4:10 am: Nope you wouldn't get labeled anorexic by the doctors. When you are anorexic, you don't eat. Alot of people just have high metabolisms, which make them skinny. I'm 5'5 and I wear 90 pounds. And I eat alot alot alot haha. So don't even worry about it! =]]] [ Jade09's advice column | Ask Jade09 A Question ]
