Ok so i'm 15/m
Ok right, is it ok for a guy to straighten his hair ? Because i straighten my fringe..because it luks stupid without it straightened, but i don't think many people realise i do. Anyway, one person in my class made a comment about how only gay guys straighten their hair :| and i was..:(..because i'm not gay.
Do you think it is right/wrong ?
PeaceOutMan answered Tuesday April 14 2009, 8:16 am: Nah man there is nothing wrong with straightening your hair lots of guys do it, i do it =P
By the way there was this guy im my school always asking 'do you str8in your hair gayboy?' and stuff like that. he has short hair like i just keep sayin no to him (i told my friends that i do tho) he used to ask me when he had all his friends around him and i was alone because he was tough :p.
Anyway i found out afterwards that the reason he kept asking me was that he wanted his hair to grow long but he couldnt because it was too curly and he was jelous of me because he thought that i had natural str8 hair and he acctually wanted hair like mine :p
Then some of his friends came up to me and asked advice on how to keep their hair long and straight so i told them i straightened it and they all thanked me 4 telling them.. weird lol
xscreamatmex answered Tuesday February 24 2009, 2:53 am: I straighten my hair everyday.
I have normally corse textured hair.
"Brillow-pad hair" I call it, or "velcrow" my dad called it.
But whatever, so the point is that I straighten my hair everyday.
Is it wrong? No it is certainly not!
It is perfectly fine for guys to straighten their hair.
Girl's do it, so why can't guys? and people who say
"that guys so gay for straightening his hair", or
"that guys so homo", they are just ignorant okay?
Just because hair straighteners are for hair care,
it doesn't make a guy less of one because he straightens his hair.
If anyone has like really curly, or wavy hair that
looks naturally frizzy or whatever straighten their
hair because it is a way of taking care of their hair because it is so frizzy, or whatever it may be. and straightening hair is just one way of caring of your apparence.
It is just like someone putting Clean & Clear medicine on their face every morning,
it is a way of taking care of yourself.
and making sure that you look your best.
so don't worry about what others say about how you look.
You probably want to take care of how you look and
make yourself look your very best everyday right?
so just do not let any of the stupid comments some people make
about it get to you, because the person that may
be making those comments about you may look somewhat
like he just got out of bed, so really you should feel sorry for him if that is the case.
kitsy32 answered Saturday August 16 2008, 9:33 pm: Dude, I'm eighteen, and I've got wavy and curly hair, which looks good as it is. But recently I've decided to straighten my fringe on a daily basis just for a stylized look. Trust me man, I am not gay, and the people who matter will not make remarks which not only offend you, but generalize gay people. I've had girlfriends since I was fourteen, and my current girl loves my hair curly and straight. I get loads of compliments on it, regardless of any slander some people might say. I'm from Canada and it's a little bit more rare to have dudes straighten their hair. But I've just been in England (Liverpool) and EVERY guy there straightens their hair. It's just a look, straight or gay. It's hair, and it's yours. Fuck the rest.
For me at least, I feel way more comfortable and confident when I think I look good. And that's what counts, not the idiotic and ignorant comments some individuals make. Whether it's straightening your hair or wearing high heels, do what makes you happy bro. If it gives you more confidence, go for it. And it's not just the hair the chicks dig man, it's the confidence. [ kitsy32's advice column | Ask kitsy32 A Question ]

batteredxdreams answered Sunday November 26 2006, 4:35 pm: No. My friend Jimmy does that. It's wrong. Just because you straighten your hair does not make you homosexual. I hate how everyone says "That's gay" But it's not wrong and it doesn't matter anyway. Your buisness. [ batteredxdreams's advice column | Ask batteredxdreams A Question ]
EBADVICEGIRL answered Sunday November 26 2006, 1:45 pm: of course it isn't wrong! I'm sure whoever that person was made the comment to distract people from there imperfections or nervousness about something. Just because you straigten your hair dosn't mean you're gay..even if you were it wouldn't matter but all the same...atleaste you're trying to make yourself look good. A lot of guys just wake up,put pants on and are out the door. I think its great that you care enough about your appearence to straighten your hair...i promise you..theres nothing at all wrong with that!!!Just think, girls are usually very attracted to guys who take good care of themselves..in whatever way. Just keep doing your thing!..you'll have the girls all over you and you'll look good at the same time!It dosn't matter what other people say. amygwendoline answered Sunday November 26 2006, 12:40 pm: I think it's fine that you straighten your hair. It's just like a personal preference, if you like it, then you should do it & not care what others think, it's as simple as that. I've straightened my boyfriends hair before because it looks hot like that.
epicadvice answered Sunday November 26 2006, 12:39 pm: I think it's fine. A lot of guys at my school straighten their hair too. If it makes you feel better about yourself then go for it, don't worry about what other people think of you and don't let them know it bothers you. taylorbuggg answered Sunday November 26 2006, 12:10 pm: why does he care?? if it looks better on you like that then i wouldn't care. if he says anything to you then just defend youself. I guess what i am saying is don't let his comments bother you....your not gay so don't worry.
LM answered Sunday November 26 2006, 12:02 pm: haha, I think it's fine.
My cousin straightens his hair all the time
& he is DEFINITELY not gay.
I personally think it's great when a guy straightens his hair, because it shows that he cares about his appearance & such. Don't let other people's comments get to you, they're probably just jealous that your hair looks better than theirs anyways! =D
t0xicParadiSe answered Sunday November 26 2006, 11:56 am: It's your hair and you should be able to do wahtever you want with it. I know guys who straighten their hair, there is nothing wrong with that. If you want to straighten your hair, then go ahead. Don't let the comments get to you.
thelaura answered Sunday November 26 2006, 8:49 am: I know tonnes of guys who straighten their hair. What's wrong with taking pride in their appearance? Nothing :)
So don't let anyones comments like "He straightens his hair. He must be gay" put you on a downer.
You do it because you feel more comfortable doing it and you obviously want to look your best!
Carry on doing it I say! [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
