what works for me is setting a timer. don't be too ambitious, set it for 10-15 minutes, and then force yourself to work for that time.

good thing i take study skills at my school.lol find a quiet place to work. that means no TV and no computer. take ten min breaks every half an hour. think to yourself. the quicker you get done the more TV and relaxation you get and you get out of the way. anymore questions send me a question or check out my advice column. Good Luck.

the carrot and the stick. reward your self for doing it good and punish yourself for not doing it. if you have a discipline problem and can't seem to motivate yourself, ask for help. Be it a friend you trust, a parent, or a sibling, get them in on helping you and maybe give them control over your punishment/reward. Nothing like knowing your older brother is going to give you a wedgey to motivate. I would only suggest the last measure if you are desperate though, giving siblings power tends to go to their heads.

The question is what motivates you? Getting good grades? Candy? What reward can you think of to give yourself for a job well done. Work for 20 minutes and break for five? Figure out your own plan based on what you love. The hardest part is getting started, and so tell yourself it is just for 10min then a quick break or snack or something. Set a timer. Make a habit out of it and start and stop at the same time everyday, somewhere you won't get distracted.

you should get started by right when you come home. don't turn on the tv, don't take a piss, don't eat. go straight to your room close the door, and set a time limit for in how long you should get your hw done. if your like me and dont have a tv or computer in your room, this will mosrt likely work. don't procrastinate, and the earlier you get it done, the better you feel, believe me!
hope i helped
