You can get regular, maxi, mini etc. Usually on the heaviest days of your period you would wear regular to maxi and the last few days of your period when you have a lighter flow most girls opt for mini's. It is suggested that you use the lowest possible absorbancy tampon you can at certain stages in your period to reduce the risk of TTS. Ask your mom to help you out when buying them.
disasterxwoah answered Sunday November 19 2006, 12:12 am: That totally depends on your flow amount. When I first started out, it took me a couple times to get it just right. If you really have no idea, get a mlti-pack (regular, super and teen). Try and see which one works best for you. Try and use the lowest tampon you can (its better for you). karlyndarlin05 answered Saturday November 18 2006, 10:03 pm: it's not really what size you are, its basically based on how heavy your period is. But, especailly if you havent had sex or have gotten fingered or anything along those lines, you might have to use smaller tampons, so they dont hurt when you use them.
you just really have to test each out and see what works the best for you. also when you're on your period you might have some heavy days and some light days, so the kind you use can switch. [ karlyndarlin05's advice column | Ask karlyndarlin05 A Question ]
dirtyxkitty answered Saturday November 18 2006, 9:58 pm: well,
i use tampax juniors or lights. If your a young teen i'd use lights or regular , because if you get tampons that arebigger than you need you have a higher risk of toxic shock syndrome.
ps. if you buy ones that are like huge like, the heavyflow tampons its gonna hurt getting it in and out. [ dirtyxkitty's advice column | Ask dirtyxkitty A Question ]
